There are some FB groups that target beggars spinning the same manufactured tales of woe that do this same thing. I have to say it is quite satisfying to see their pay apps get flooded with requests versus payments.
There was a video that got out of these two women on a Zoom that were coaching other women how to issue these type of pleas. Of course, that’s why they all sound the same.
I used their tactic and edited the screenshot. They are so convinced they have you on the hook that they fall for their own scam and forget that cashapp doesn't send a request to receive money
Actually sometimes you do have to complete the transaction. Idk why but it’s happened to me a couple times when I’ve bought breakfast for other co-workers and they sent $. And my fiance has had to accept some payments from me before as well. I’m not sure why but I never questioned it since I personally knew the people
I’ve missed something. Exactly what happened here? I’m assuming 3 accounts. Scammer, mark, and scammers legit account. And it looks like you used their scammer money to pay the scammer’s legit account? Is that what happened?
I get these all the time and I will bless you shit look people there us no such thing as a fee for cashapp, vemo,or whatever to receive money or send I guess these ass hats think or get som9ne that is stupid once in a while but hopefully people get smarter as the years go not dumber
A win for sure. My only thing, I’d convince myself I indirectly stole $80 from someone they previously scammed successfully. Then I’d think, do I need this $80 more than the dude scamming me from a third world country? It’s all so grey. But $80 is $80. Fuck that guy.
Ngl I’ve done this a couple times, usually I try to aim for anywhere between 20-50 cause sometimes even they don’t have that much on their account. Gotten probably like 600 in a week once.
I had someone try this on me that I didn't know. They said they wanted to gift me money. I said I would not turn down a gift. Then they sent the screen shot and asked for a verification fee, I simply said that's not how cash app works. I've been paid before via cash app and I have never been required to send a fee first. Never heard from them again.
Wow, how ignorant these dudes can be baffles me. So you sent a *request* and they accepted thinking they would receive payment? Golden!

Mission accomplished: made them mad😁
This was fucking brilliant. Great work!
"Thank you, Vincent" blocked LMAO got eeeem
“What kind of rubbish is this” made me chuckle lmfao
All that “rubbish” comment was missing is a pic of Oscar the Grouch
A win!!!!
The “double tap to ❤️” 😂
Did you see the heart reply I sent on cashapp? 😂
Their grammar hurts my head and very nice ending
Lol nice
Man I wanna do this. Does it not say you’ve sent a money request, or are they just so excited that they accept it regardless?

Good to know
Indeed. Applause 👏🏻for your successful uno reverse. It’s was beautiful
I try this every time but it never works for me

OP requested a payment from the scammer instead of sending one. When the scammer accepted they paid $80
Exactly. I pulled the same trick they were trying on me and they fell for it
Iconic
Good job!
Nice!
LMAO

I use a credit card on cash app there is a fee of like 3% to send money but the sender pays it immediately when they send the cash.

Don’t overthink it, donate it to a charity and move on
I’d rather buy a bag of weed
Teach me ur ways 😭
I’d have said there’s a $3000 clearing fee for him to get his $80 back 😂 love this!!

Good shit. I see these scams more than often.
What sort of nonsense is this?!
Should’ve told him you screwed up and will send him $160, but first he has to send you an $80 verification fee. Amazing work though.
THIS IS THE BEST ONE LMAO
I'm trying this next time
