Kintsugi. "Kintsugi is the Japanese art of putting broken pottery pieces back together with gold — a metaphor for embracing your flaws and imperfections"
I named him Arashi. The name can both mean “storm” as well as “a new heart” depending on the kanji used. 嵐 for Storm and 新心 for a new heart but both are read as Arashi.
Mine is also named Arashi! I only knew the storm meaning from learning Shibori dye patterns in fabric dye class at school. The other meaning of new heart is also extremely fitting
Whoah nice to see someone who appreciates names with deeper meanings. My first time reading about Shibori dye though, seems interesting. I also remember that there was this thing on the official Genshin page last year listing names that players who named wanderer arashi and out of the millions it was only in the double digits too so it added more to the uniqueness
Named him Kunimitsu, which by my small rrsearch means "country's light" as an opposite to Kunikuzushi, which means country destroyer
I think the similarities serves to kinda poetically keep him bounded to his past life and mistakes, but giving it a new light(pun intended) and a chance to create a better version of his own in his new life :]
I like how you still kept ‘Kuni’ in his name. I like the light added too. When I finish the quest, I think I’ll pick this name - thanks for giving me a name that resonates with him and really puts him in a new light😊
**Name:** Efrit
**Reason for naming:** he’s a little demon through and through, whispering into our ears to roll for him. He has us doing questionable things, all for his evil smile and bleb.
Vimala.
A step along the bodhisattva path, in some Buddhist traditions. This state is one in which the adherent aspires to embody purification, compassion, and perfected morality. The word itself means pure, stainless, free from defilement.
Named to invoke a hopeful and constructive way for him to continue to act on his line “all worthless dross will be purged.”
Icarus. For some reason, I wanted the traveler to name him something similar to the naming conventions from his home and I assume they used greek names. Not to mention his legitimate Icarus syndrome(although to him it came from a place of finding himself rather than hubris). Also, he flies!
I named him Amanogawa. It's the japanese name for the Milky Way. His ult looks like a black hole and it fits the galaxy theme, the unreconciled stars event also was a factor for the name. 👍🏻 I also wanted something japanese to reference him back to Ei.
Wanderer.
The reason: his whole quest was about him seeking his own identity and rejecting the names people have given him and the how those names dictated who he was meant to be. So I felt that it wasn't my right to give someone who's trying to figure out who they want to be another name he didn't choose, and let him figure that one out on his own. If he thinks deeply about it and wants to call himself Arashi or Bob or x_babygirl_sombrero69_x later, at least it'll have been his own choice.
Astraeus.
(tl:dr it’s related to my Traveller’s name. You don’t need to read below, but I had fun choosing the name and wanted to write it out somewhere)
The main reason I chose it was because my Traveller’s name is Zephyr, so I wanted something that was related. Zephyr refers to the Greek god Zephyrus, the Western Wind. I decided since it was canonically my Traveller choosing the name, he would choose a name that had meaning/importance to him.
I would’ve named Wanderer after the North wind to signify his connection to the Fatui (the North wind represents cold, winter, and stormy weather), but the name is Boreas, which felt too similar to Andrius for me.
So after looking around the Greek family tree, I found Astraeus. For one, I think the name sounds really fitting. He is the father of the four winds, and is himself the god of dusk, and of stars and astrology as well. He was also one of the titans who waged war on the gods, which I found quite suitable.
For some related fun facts, the four winds are collectively known as the Anemoi, and Zephyrus’ Roman equivalent name is Favonius!
mafuyu (the one from project sekai). she basically is represented exactly like scara while her story is the polar opposite of his, while also looking just like him. they're both depicted as puppets that only exist because of their mother's selfishness, where one was abandoned by her and the other is completely controled by her. scara doesn't want to have any feelings but struggles because he does have them, while mafuyu wants to be her "real self" but can't feel anything other than emptyness. mafuyu is getting help because of her friends that want to save her, scara is sinking further in loneliness because he thinks he doesn't need friends. they both think that the only way of finding peace in life would be by not existing at all with everything they've gone through. they're a spitting image of eachother that can be depicted as mirrors and ying-yang at the same time, and i love both of them with my whole heart. when i found out that we could name scara, i knew i had a job.
Fuushin. It’s not unique ngl lol, but I’m pretty satisfied with it. I first start with the name fujin (wind god) derive from his relation with raiden (raijin - thunder god). But I kinda want to include his relationship with isshin clan, so it becomes fuushin, which means heart of wind. This meaning also fit with him currently, he got an anemo vision and it kinda acts as the heart he had always been searching
Kyujen
If i remember right it means Prince of the moon in some maya languaje, his splash art has a "moon" made out of anemo, plus fits a los more if you think that the only other artificial playable character(we dont talk about raiden) is albedo and he has a "sun" on his splash art
Hope my english is decent enought
I went with Enlil. He was the Mesopotamian God of air, wind, and storms, and he was the head of the Sumerian pantheon.
Edit to add: he was also assimilated into being a lot of Gods as time went on. One of the earliest gods he became was Ba’al, God of Storms.
Jisung
Because he looks like Han from Stray Kids. Akira
Gave him this name for 2 reasons:
1. A reference to the movie - Akira has immense powers & is very strong in the story
2. I wanted a Japanese name. Akira can mean "bright" (明) or "light" (光) in Japanese, in contrast to his creator's name Ei (影) which means "shadow".
Kasideci
Meaning: It's a Turkish name, "Kaside" is a form of poem. Euology to be exact, and Euology poem means, "a poetic form of expression that laments or mourns a loved onea poetic form of expression that laments or mourns a loved one". Kasideci is the possesive form of it.
Lifeweaver (yes after the overwatch character)
Was panicking over what to name him. picked this and came up with a bullshit answer for it.
Bullshit answer: He chose to end his life in Irminsul and then he chose to regain his memories. In some sense you can say he wove his own life (I know there were lots of external factors 😭)
I mean I guess it kinda fits in that he decided to become the Wanderer and do what he's doing now right?...
I named mine Tadashi because it feels fitting with how much he valued his past relationships. Tadashi means “faithful servant” or “faithful person.” He was betrayed by people we was willing to be faithful and loyal to which is why it hurt so much and why he’s more guarded now. This is also the reason why he’s my favorite character. He values stable relationships because it hurts to have people turn their back on you when you tried to do everything you could to keep them around. There was a lot more thought put into this than what I just explained but yeah, I like this name for him. :)
"Fuurin"
Derived from the term Fuurinkazan which directly translates to "Wind, Forest, Fire, Mountain", hence Fuurin means "Wind, Forest".
Perfectly befitting for Wanderer since he has an Anemo vision (wind) and he currently resides in Sumeru, the nation of Dendro(forest). Also Fuurin is a homage to his origins, since the term is Japanese where Inazuma is referenced from.
Mine’s named Furin, not Fujin like a lot of ppl named him. It means Windchime, which does also fit his theme (and the bell sound that plays every 5 goddamn seconds lmao)
It’s particularly funny because if I had added an extra A at the end of it, I would’ve inadvertently found out Focalor’s other name like, 6 patches early.
Ciel.
What? I'm a Black Butler fan, don't judge kskksks (jk u can say whatever u want) plus it means "Sky," and Scara's in the sky when he shoots windblades-
Monsoon. Monsoon season is a period of heavy rain and wind. Wind to represent the Anemo vision, rain is seen as a metaphor for purification, like how Wanderer has been 'purified' so to speak. And, monsoon season is known for being particularly chaotic, like his personality. Is it particularly interesting? No, not in my opinion, there's funnier and more creative names I'm sure. Do I like it a lot? Yes, yes I do.
Hime- Japanese word for princess, it was the first word that came to mind, becuz his bangs remind me of the princess ones, hes japanese and his mother is the leader
Yuki! I thought of it in the shower and thought it sounded adorable so it became his name! https://www.reddit.com/r/ScaramoucheMains/comments/s8u9i7/scaramouche_and_makoto/
At the time when i was thinking of what id name him. I like the parallels(?) Or similarities that him and makoto share and i always found him different from ei in a way anyway, so this seemed fitting.
I also like how raiden shogun is similar to ei not just in physical appearance but also as in with being overly concerned with eternity and doing things in a strict and rigid way, on top of being a great fighter just like ei, and the same for scara with makoto.
Although i dont know much about makoto i assume she wasnt much of a fighter like her sister and was just chilling and drinking tea, guess who else chills and drinks tea now YES WANDERER I SWEAR IM NOT CRAZY in eis 2nd story quest wasnt makotos favorite thing to do was to drink tea with someone? And wanderers favorite food is chazuke. Tea with rice dude and other than that makoto with her umbrella and scara with his big ass hat which can be used as an umbrella like cmon. And from what i can guess from scara i would assume she was more into song and dance like scara and preferred to enjoy things in the moment (just god of transience things yass) And doesnt scara have more of an interest in music and dancing? (Sword dancing) and these two and their ideas of transience...they both find the beauty and the grief that comes with it. im horrible at explaining my thoughts but you can see the parallels between the puppets and the original gods themselves and i think its sweet that theres details like that i have beef with ei and her lore as a whole but i think these little details are just so nice
2 Aside from that i know makoto is a unisex name that means truth (and its such a lovely name really..), and its a fitting name for him now even without the knowledge of raiden makoto / scara parallels since hes off doing his own thing now free like a bird living his truth hell yeah go girl have fun
I just found makoto to be the perfect name or rather alias for him in every way, and it sounds like a common enough name where he can just blend into the crowd and do his own wanderer wandering stuff. Kinda like john doe but in japanese with a meaning that i find suits him and some sweet sweet pain i mean lore. Yes 🍵
Yoshitaka :D
It means righteousness in Japanese (I also found out a random NPC has that name too so I guess that shows my name choice is kinda a canon name 😭)
I ended up calling him Duwneb (Dew-neb). In Welsh the word itself means godhead. Its a nod to where he was ultimately stored in his robot god body. But if you separate the words into Duw Neb, it translates into Nobody's God. Through in the fact that Welsh is a Celtic language and there is a lot of subtle Celtic symbology across the world he changed to become the wanderer and I just thought it worked
Kei
I was originally gunna name him Bei because Ei's name sounds like 'A' and Bei would be sorta like the successor with 'B' but after a few minutes thinking it only sounded like Bae.
So I named him Kei, a small mix of Kunikuzushi and Ei. I still have the rename paper so I might change it... some day...
Rohan. In Sanskrit it means ascended one. Its my nickname that my aunt gave me and I gave it to Wandy.
I also named my Traveler Rohan but recently I changed his name to WorkHarduLazy.
Surprisingly, all my life I tried to Ascend to Godhood like Scara. I have many other similarities like Trauma and "Wish I was not born at all".
Shoto
Inspired from Shoto Todoroki from MHA since i was watching that anime at the time 3.3 was released and just thought... huh they kinda have the same background so why not?
Soroush ..... basically after my own name so that I'd have 3 versions of myself (traveler wanderer and the 3.6 gadget)
The meaning is that it's a name of one of the god's angels iirc
I've been thinking about doing a better research (?) in case I could find another theatre name for him that actually fits, since that's pretty much how he's been named in the past lol though I like having the naming brush in my inventory :')
Atm he's just called Yuujin. No particular kanji for it, I sort of picked it because I liked all its writings.

Named him the same name for the same reasons hahahaha
wow me too
Damn that fits so well!!
Thanks, I never renamed him since. I really like that name
Mine is also named Arashi! Meaning wise, same explanation for the choice. But I also just love Arashi from Ensemble stars, lol.
Same here. But now every time Wanderer appears in game with the name Arashi, I can’t help but think of the one from Enstars
All 5 except creativity is 4 (the guy commented has the same name)

Wanderer. The reason: his whole quest was about him seeking his own identity and rejecting the names people have given him and the how those names dictated who he was meant to be. I see. Morro from Ninjago
Scara ara is my name cuz I like Ara ara waifus and it fits with his name a little
Timtam, fun fact my mother named him for me
bbygirl
Scaramochi
Makoto 1 Because these posts have been rotting in my mind https://www.reddit.com/r/ScaramoucheMains/comments/yx5f4m/a_sad_lore_theoryheadcanon/ https://www.reddit.com/r/ScaramoucheMains/comments/s8u9i7/scaramouche_and_makoto/ At the time when i was thinking of what id name him. (Sword dancing) and these two and their ideas of transience...they both find the beauty and the grief that comes with it. im horrible at explaining my thoughts but you can see the parallels between the puppets and the original gods themselves and i think its sweet that theres details like that i have beef with ei and her lore as a whole but i think these little details are just so nice 2 Aside from that i know makoto is a unisex name that means truth (and its such a lovely name really..), and its a fitting name for him now even without the knowledge of raiden makoto / scara parallels since hes off doing his own thing now free like a bird living his truth hell yeah go girl have fun I just found makoto to be the perfect name or rather alias for him in every way, and it sounds like a common enough name where he can just blend into the crowd and do his own wanderer wandering stuff. Kinda like john doe but in japanese with a meaning that i find suits him and some sweet sweet pain i mean lore. Yes 🍵
Yoshitaka :D It means righteousness in Japanese (I also found out a random NPC has that name too so I guess that shows my name choice is kinda a canon name 😭)
Ruu.
Kei I was originally gunna name him Bei because Ei's name sounds like 'A' and Bei would be sorta like the successor with 'B' but after a few minutes thinking it only sounded like Bae.
Kunikuzushi
WannabeXiao (I'm a Xiao main )
Karna
I named him Grieve
Vagus
Shinsei
i literally just named him "Phel" after my main from league lmao
Shoto Inspired from Shoto Todoroki from MHA since i was watching that anime at the time 3.3 was released and just thought... huh they kinda have the same background so why not?
Kazushi
Genshou, its hanzi characters mean "the primordial light", "the meadow of light" or "a clear origin". i can have all.
Kime
Listen, I used to hate him so I named him billybob from a friend suggestion and then changed it to emo and now I can no longer change it.
vagabundo (wanderer in spanish)
Amane
Federlise - from a fictional language in my book that means 'Light as a Feather'
Soroush ..... basically after my own name so that I'd have 3 versions of myself (traveler wanderer and the 3.6 gadget) The meaning is that it's a name of one of the god's angels iirc
"Vas" after my in-game name, cause he is the TRUE MAIN CHARACTER
Peroroncino
Shiki
Belial (he used to be Fujin, it just didn't feel right)
Koji! Or Koko. Reminds me of kokoro.
Kai He has a Kai kinda face
Tsukuyomi
Cerulean
Mine is Akira. Then I saw that one of Itto's gang members is also named Akira 😬
I've been thinking about doing a better research (?) in case I could find another theatre name for him that actually fits, since that's pretty much how he's been named in the past lol though I like having the naming brush in my inventory :') Atm he's just called Yuujin. No particular kanji for it, I sort of picked it because I liked all its writings.
