Am I the only one that hates this stupid trend of, “Oh, [INSERT INNOCENT THING] is public domain! Let’s make it evil and edgy and stuff! That’s cool, right?”
It just comes off as really dumb to me. Maybe that’s just me, though
It’s so low effort. There’s way better stuff one can do with these established characters. Also, every innocent thing under the sun already has its dumb creepypasta counterpart, so it’s hardly breaking any new ground.
I think it can be done well if there’s work put into it, and clear soul, like it’s not a cash grab. I’ve seen a lot of horror movies recently where the acting is phenomenal and they’re trying to make the viewers feel for the characters and the situation, or the movie actually has a moral. If I were to make a Winnie the Pooh horror movie, I’d do it as something emotional. Not lean as deep into the slasher aspect. I’m sure it could be done well
To add, they announced the entire TCU (Twisted Childhood Universe), to name a few of the confirmed movies:
Bambi - The Reckoning
Peter Pan's Neverland Nightmare
Pinocchio Unstrung
Poohniverse - Monsters Assemble (I too wished I was joking), which promises to unite the Hundred Acre Woods gang with Pinocchio, Bambi, Peter Pan, the Mad Hatter and Sleeping Beauty
The TCU creator also confirmed interest in tackling COPYRIGHTED stuff, namely Teletubbies, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and The Powerpuff Girls
Oh they better not touch the powderpuff girls. I hope Craig McCracken snubs that out if he has any power to do so. If anyone’s gonna make a twisted version of them it should be Jamie Hewlett because they’re in the Gorillaz universe and he could actually pull it off.
Edit to add: Neverland is already terrifying if you know the books.
This *could* be a thing if it was done well, but if the previous movies are any indication it'll be worthless shlock. The concept is tired and basic, it's like making an r/imsorryjon movie, but I liked Santa's Slay and Killer Clowns From Outer Space well enough. Even Freddy Vs Jason, Hellraiser: Endgame, and Jason X were campy fun slashers. Nightmare On Elm Street was a straight up horror comedy series for a while. It's the lack of effort and the mistaken idea that this concept is original and novel enough to carry a movie just because "I can't believe they made that!" energy.
I have nothing else to say aside from the fact that “Whiney the Pooh: Blood and Honey Cinematic Universe” is a string of words that should’ve never come together.
im so fucking sick of "Wow, this cartoon character is now EVIL AND MURDER MWAHAHAHA" make something original or dont make anything at all you fucking hacks
Bruh this is literally my childhood cartoon and now they making some horror shit, are you kidding me I feel like even parents don't wanna let the kids know of this horror that might traumatized them when they grow up

It could've worked but blood and honey fell hard
the first one did, they actually tried with the second one
Is the second one out?
yeah it's unironically great, also they recast Christopher Robin with Scott Chambers and he is shockingly good in the film
Not at all. I think it’s stupid too.
Horror and edgy are the cheapest way to turn a buck We can't escape it
I need Bojack Horseman but with Mickey Mouse. Please.
No, what they should do is keep the innocent thing and show its reaction to its evil and edgy and stuff version.

Personally I think the concept has potential to be really cool. It just hardly, if ever, is executed well.
Donald Duck horror movie incoming
I think most ppl feel like that after we fell out of creepypastas
Mom, can we have "Freddy VS Jason". Son, we have "Freddy VS Jason" at home. "Freddy VS Jason" at home:
I can’t wait for when they release a comic called ‘shrek vs Mickey vs Winnie’
Peak, this is why public domain exists (I'm not watching this bullshit)
Marvel: Endgame is the most ambitious crossover Me: I don't think you have heard of this

THOSE 3 CARTOONS ARE LOSING COPYRIGHT?!
No. But the director expressed interest in using them as basis anyways
Huh?

“PLEASE MAKE IT STOP I BEG YOU!”
👁️_👁️ -_- 👁️_👁️ what
This is the worst timeline.
This is an inside job by Disney to make people hate the idea of the public domain.
Public domain was a mistake lowkey
Eh, not really but yeah, this wasn't what I was expecting...
Bring Sora next
Just….just, why?
Honestly I respect the grindset

Who are you rooting for?
No, just no
Why does it look both stupid but also cool-looking at the same time
im so fucking sick of "Wow, this cartoon character is now EVIL AND MURDER MWAHAHAHA" make something original or dont make anything at all you fucking hacks
Damn, I miss Freddy vs Jason so much.
That’s so dumb that it made me chuckle. …I now never want to think about it again because any further mention of it will not be nearly as funny.
Can someone please tell Paul King that these characters are in public domain?
Pathetic
Sigh.
Bruh this is literally my childhood cartoon and now they making some horror shit, are you kidding me I feel like even parents don't wanna let the kids know of this horror that might traumatized them when they grow up
Make it stop!!!😭😭😭
Dear Christ....
fuck the public domain
Stop giving them attention, for crying out loud!
Why
Rubberhose Rampage: “Been there, done that.”
It's so bad I feel like it might be good yk what I'm saying
Cool
This is gonna be the greatest movie of all time.
LETS JOOOOOOEEE
