I've been waiting 446 days (this time) for secret. You handle it by forgetting about it and doing what you can to stay valuable at work without a clearance.

Upper_Inflation_2770

This is quite discouraging! :( Here I thought that my case was the worst.

Puzzleheaded-Past602

Hello. Can I send DM to you? Thanks.

Upper_Inflation_2770

Yes please

zHarmonic

Still within normal parameters

Upper_Inflation_2770

No way :(!!

Ferblungen

354 days for a 'reinvestigation'. 278 is like a Saturday afternoon.

MarginalSadness

>Given the critical nature of my role and the responsibilities I have, Lighten up, Francis. You're in the National Guard, and you're too new to be doing anything important.

Thatguy2070

“Severe”

Upper_Inflation_2770

One of the main reasons I joined the NG was to get a secret clearance for my job as an engineer. Without this, I currently don't have a job and have suffered severe financial loss.

Thatguy2070

…ok. Did you do any research to how long it takes to process a security Clearance before making that decision?

Upper_Inflation_2770

The average time is 120 days based on what i researched

Puzzleheaded-Past602

T3 or T5?

Puzzleheaded-Past602

Are you a naturalized citizen? Are you from a middle east country?

Upper_Inflation_2770

Yes I am a naturalized citizen and I am originally from Africa

Valuable_Cold7067

I have from the IRS .I emailed the point of contact/ the investigator several times. No response. Why encourage the candidate to email with any questions or concerns knowing very well courtesy and professionalism cannot be demonstrated by simply responding to the emails? The process shouldn’t be so stressful.

Nervous-Emu-3337

National Guard is not that critical. 🫳🎤

Upper_Inflation_2770

It is critical for me because in order to acquire a job as a devops engineer, it is a crucial ingredient that is why it is quite important. Since I got out of AIT I have not had a job till date. :(

zHarmonic

Most people who need a clearance need it to do their jobs

Nervous-Emu-3337

Yes critical TO YOU, to the government it’s just another application. I think you should have planned a little better. Maybe even went active duty on a 3yr contract.
