The OG already does. There’s hard, and demon bell and/or charmless super hard.

_ara

No. The story works in hand with the difficulty.

Powerful_Ring_2308

It’s my favorite bit of most fromsoft games, glad to see it getting some recognition. The countless deaths we experience are so compellingly built into the story. We’re weaker than almost every enemy we encounter, our ONLY “superpower” as a character is resurrection and getting to try again. The story doesn’t hold nearly as much weight without the frustration of countless deaths.

Gentaro

My theory is that there will never be a Sekiro 2 because of that exact reason. If you played through Sekiro you have acquired skills and any future game would have to be so much more challenging that it won't be fun for newcomers anymore. And then you also have people who are on their 343th playthrough doing it blind with only their pinkies while holding their breath, they are a whole different story. The Sekiro magic can't be repeated by a sequel.

Mr_Eddy

Well they wouldn’t need to make it “harder” really. They would just need new enemy types and move sets and bosses. There is nothing wrong with the formula. You just put in different characters and stories and fight. Of course veterans will have an easier time but that no different than any other game. They could easily do a game without the prosthetics and add more options directly relating to sword combat. For a change vs the original

hwanzi

How about base game be NKC

Opening-Function8616

I agree 2 with diffculties. Normal and harder

NeoNeonMemer

Which is already implemented by charmless and extra hard can be db+ charmless

Chosen_UserName217

No They make the games to be the exact difficulty they want. Everyone has the same experience. If you want to change game modes and have story mode there's Ghost of Tsushima and Rise of the Ronin.

Venator_IV

Git gud scrub

Imapancakenom

No. Fromsoft won't change. We the fans do not want them to change. They will always make their games wonderfully difficult, just the way we like them. The challenge is what makes them so much fun.

Teamskywalker14

I know fromsoft can change. It is their complete combat and setting change which allowed Sekiro to even exist. And they did it beautifully. I love the challenge. But Sekiro compared to dark souls just has such a gap between its players skill. In ds you can be the best player and there will still be enemies and bosses that catch you, while a really good player will have a slightly worse time but it won’t look as different as compared to someone who just squeezed out a victory against isshin and lilaggy who just has such mastery over this game. It’s only this why I suggested a difficulty setting. Keep base game hard cause at the end of the day it’s a souls game but make a mode from the start for the many maniacs like myself who have gone out of their way to do resurrection or long may the shadows reflect or demon bell charmless. So that the real veterans don’t think it’s easy

Imapancakenom

Yes they can change in that they can make a game that is not a Soulsborne, as they did with Sekiro (some people call it a Soulsborne but I disagree). What I mean when I say they won't change is that they won't ever make games with "Easy" difficulty settings. All other game publishers do this... choose your difficulty level at the beginning. Fromsoft does not. That's their style, that's what they are famous for. That element they will not change. That's what makes their games so good. There will always be legions of people like me who love the challenge. Look at how well Elden Ring sold. And there always has been, and always will be, many people who try their games and don't like them because they're too hard. There are even game "journalists" who write articles about Fromsoft games needing a difficulty adjustment settings to make their games "accessible" to more gamers. That's just silly and it's not a problem for Fromsoft because too many people enjoy what they do for the complainers to matter. Your post has 0 upvotes and it will stay that way. Your opinion is the minority.

SilentIntention5906

It's a fromsoft game, it's supposed to be a hard/challenging game, They will never do a difficulty system

Smooth_Condition_944

Sekiro already has a number of built in difficulties. There's simply hard, NG+ NG+2 etc.. charmless and demon bell. How many difficulties do you need!

Turtle835wastaken

No. a difficulty option is just not good from my experience. whatever the game is, it doesn't matter. the difficulty should be the same for everyone. maybe something like NKC should be available after beating the game once but not a selectable difficulty. Also, if Sekiro gets a sequel, it should be way more difficult than the original Sekiro, because if it's the same difficulty/easier/only a little harder, everyone will most likely storm through the game and beat every boss in under 5 attempts.

Boomacorn9000

Kuros charm and demon bell. It's already in the game.

nistsal-hexy

Yeah, normal (for a Souls game) and hard (pain and suffering)

NaturalTop1406

Yep. Options are good. Make the game perfect for “normal”, and then afterwards, tune it down a bit for a noob mode.
