Imo, the reason why people say they have chemistry is because it was being set up from season 1. Even I saw the set up and was praying it didn't happen because they just work better as friends. But a lot of people think that waiting to get together = more pining, will they/won't they = more chemistry
the most non-platonic chemistry i saw between them was kimberly thinking he was hot and could potentially develop a crush on canaan. saw legit nothing from canaan’s side.
I see her point like yeah Cannan messed w her a lot but he was trying to protect her from like getting caught cheating, the tips at the comedy event, suggesting a fundraiser for their wages where Caanan gave a good effort like maybe they didn’t have the sexual chemistry exactly but they had heartfelt moments sprinkled through
ofc but that read more platonic than anything else. I think my main issue is just how rushed and outta nowhere them getting together was. Would’ve been a lot better if they’d paced it over a longer period.
Remember how quick he had to "take a lap" when he saw her in that black dress? Or how he was uncomfortable with a half-naked Whitney on him once he saw "Kimberly's bigass bra?" Also the way he literally keeps distance between him and Kimberly at all times. He was definitely smitten early on. Her insisting he gets recognized at the awards and showing how proud she was was when he officially gave in.
But like also those things are more platonic in nature but maybe it just shows Kimberly has changed a lot in terms of what she’s looking for compared to like Nico and Jackson ahah

Am I the only one who saw their chemistry from the beginning? If y’all go back and watch Canaan and Kimberly scenes, it was clear he liked her from the start. He’s in the background making faces when she’s kissing other dudes and the fact that he kept getting distracted by Kimberly’s bras when he was hooking up with Whitney 💀. Like sure I’d understand if he was uncomfortable once when he saw that because they are coworkers but he kept looking and was not paying attention to Whitney during sex—the most intimate thing you can do with someone 😒. Those were dead giveaways and there’s more of that if you watch Canaan specifically during some scenes involving Kimberly. Given most viewers didn’t notice this, the writers should’ve made it much more clear and less subtle. I thought Kimberly’s attraction to him was rushed. I’m torn about Whitney because I feel like her and Canaan ended in a way that wasn’t satisfying and I hate how Whitney didn’t tell Canaan that she thought they had been dating for much longer than he thought. I feel like that conversation never happened and it should’ve. But the fact that Whitney seemed to not really care too much about their breakup and then all of a sudden have all the feelings come back felt rushed, too. That’s why I didn’t feel as bad when she saw Kimberly kissing Canaan. She was with Canaan for such a short period of time and it wasn’t serious at all and that’s the impression Kimberly got. Still, Kimberly lying to Whitney was my major problem and I am not here for the triangle. It’s all v messy because Kimberly shouldn’t have pursued Canaan when he dumped her roommate 5 months ago (or really any amount of time unless Kimberly and Whitney had talked about it and Whitney was okay with it). Canaan shouldn’t have pursued Whitney when he had feelings for Kimberly. And Whitney should’ve fought for Canaan and been more honest with her feelings. Well props to the writers because that’s pretty realistic lol.
