I always imagined this being an endgame thing, so when he reaches the Divine Rank, because it'd be way too OP to do it this eaely. If you take what Cassie said about turning him into a weapon against Fate explicitly, then this is the first thing I imagined him being able to do before he turned Fateless.

I think tapestry of fate is like a spider's web - either you're a weaver or bug caught in it. Sunny regaining his fate might be like going back from the former to the latter.

HeroOfLightPKN

To me it makes more sense for Sunny to weave his own fate

Yeah, it would not make sense to permanently dispose of all those memories and relationships. Not to mention that it will be both hearthbreaking and hillarious when everyone starts getting those memories back, and have 2 sets of memories of sunny nephis would realize she fell in love with him wice (sunny and the shopkeeper), while having a crush on him twice (mongrel and lord shadow) cassie: will fill a lot of guilt, but also relief effie would feel so humillated after she was so thirsty for the shopkeeper kai will probably cry a lot rain will want to present his new teacher to sunny, cause they have a lot of things in common and will likely become friends (she is too dense to realize they are the same, cause the saint is both more handsome and has the marble shell changing his skin color a bit (rain never met the original sunny with that shell)

I like theories. However, the name of the novel is Shadow "Slave". If there is no slavery, then there is no novel. I believe he will willingly accept his shadow bond and Nephis as his master. The problem was not being a slave. The problem was that he did not give his consent for this.

TrevorStars

A story doesn't need to be a slave to its title. This is especially so for light novels this long. The title has served it's purpose in pulling in people and anchoring the story and the need to follow it has long since passed.
