MarvellouslyChaotic

I read the title and still managed to think that was refried beans

Several-Age-3512

that’s fair

hypnotique_agent

Tbh looks delicious. The peanut sauce could stand to be wetter.

planty_pete

Try just barely dipping the papers in water, then working with them when they’re still leathery. Be gentle and deliberate.

Balancing_tofu

Are you getting it wet as you use it? I think there's a special way to handle those bitches. Like keeping them submerged in a bowl of water before you pull them to roll/ use for spring rolls.

hottapioca

Noooooooo they would dissolve and stick to each other first. They only need to touch the water and flip then put on surface for rolling. One at a time. I put some water in a plate so the whole sheet can get wet at the same time then flip it to get other side wet and it's done. They tear because people get them too wet.

Intrepid-Pickle13

All I can think about is the monstrosity lasagne salad now

Several-Age-3512

🤣

Sufficient-Water9277

Try wetting two sheets and sticking them together. I haven't had one rip since I started doing it that way. 💕

AdCheap4057

Try a tall glass with water and circle the paper around the top. My problem was I was using to much water soaking it on a plate so maybe the tall glass might help you too

Several-Age-3512

I’m so confused by this. What do you mean circle the paper around the top?

AdCheap4057

So I cone the rice paper in the cup and then turn the paper around until the whole thing is wet! I’m sorry it is a bit hard to explain lol

Several-Age-3512

see, I took one out of the bag and it broke immediately. I’m wondering if I just got really bad rice papers

AdCheap4057

Oh yeah they may be dry, they are fragile but not really thatttt fragile 😧

Several-Age-3512

in hindsight, I should have known right then and there

AdCheap4057

lol in your defense I tried using too dry rice papers several times before figuring it out ahaha I ended up with many spring roll salads 🤣

hottapioca

I don't soak mine on a plate, I just put one side down on the plate and immediately flip it over then take it out before placing on my rolling surface. Except my first maybe 3 tries, it's never ripped for me again doing it this way. Water can be lukewarm or cold too I think people are 1) getting it too wet 2) using hot ass water

AdCheap4057

Yes, I noticed a difference when I used room temp water! I’m glad you mentioned that

GoldenBalls31

Now the comments on my post about my rice paper makes sense about it being so clear 😭I use Longdan rice paper it’s always great 👍just a dip in warm water does the trick! Still looks nice regardless 😤

Several-Age-3512

i will be looking for these! thank you!!

Several-Age-3512

it’s a UK brand 💔

GoldenBalls31

Oh no! I’ve tried another off of Amazon before and found them good too, not sure if they are UK only. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Round-Vietnamese-paper-Summer-Spring/dp/B06Y5YWP9X/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?crid=12WJOPRT8P9J9&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.AuFVjMzmkZZMBrIxrFlhVpkorHQ8OhGiYKWRkKDIakOMq5Vsk_gTGRZpN8nv5vu4m2w7QRzMz sorry for the long link but hope it helps 😫

Several-Age-3512

thank you!! Ended up finding a good one at my Sprouts. Brown rice paper…tastes the same and very good quality

clothing_o_designs

I made this on purpose last week. I just use rice noodles now to save myself the hassle of rolling them.

Several-Age-3512

genius!!

Willing_Program1597

I, too, love piles of ‘rhea on my salad 😊

digitifera

I always use 2 sheet per roll. No more rips since then.

Butter-titties128

Yummy 😋
