Deep Rock Galactic (pve fps) is $10 currently. Insanely addictive even with randoms, more so with friends.
Games I cannot personally attest to but are well liked:
Left 4 Dead 2 (pve fps) for $1. Skullgirls (2d fighter) is $2.50. Titanfall 2 (pvp fps) is $6 but requires EA launcher and account.
Can double for deep rock galactic, this game is amazing. New season also dropped very recently and its excellent, its a really good time to join, the game is super replayable and is all around so good.
Titianfall 2 has a great campagn and the multiplayer is super fun, but the game is kinda dead. Ill still recommend it just because its so cheap
on tbe flip side i think DRG is super repetitive OP, if u wanted a different opinion. The variety in missions gets stale within about 10 hours, the weapons don’t feel impactful. the missions just drag on and the only new content is usually just weapon skins. game is so boring and ive tried to get into it so many times
I agree. I have about 20hrs in and find it kinda repetitive. I don't think the game is bad by any means. In fact, I think it's quite good and well made. My main issue is it just hasn't hooked me at all. At no point have I been really hankering or excited to play it.
In my experience the procedural generation and the various builds (most weapon unlocks are very different from the base ones) keep it feeling much less repetitive than most online multiplayer games I've played.
That being said, if the gameplay loop itself isn't enough to motivate you to play you will not enjoy it. It is a repetitive game. I am curious as to what difficulty you played on--it's much easier for it to start feeling repetitive when there is little combat.
Does Left 4 Dead have a single player mode? IIRC it was multiplayer (or maybe I just joined multiplayer) and didn't know what I was doing. I was yelled at in chat and kicked from the game.
I'm sure it's a great game but playing multiplayer old games is super hard because they're not new player friendly, at all.
I don't see it mentioned, Elder Scrolls Online base game is like $5. It's a great game and if you splurge and buy the latest expansion you'll get all previous 10 or 12 expansions with it. I'd recommend trying the base game. if it clicks, save up and invest in one expansion and get thousands of hours of content.
Newest expansion is $60, unfortunately. Not sure what happens if you buy an older expansion. You might get all content up to that point. ie: buy expansion 9 and get 1 through 8 "for free". so older expansion may be way cheaper. you'd have to look into it. but base game is like $5 to test the waters, if interested.
I recently made the best use of $20 in my life.
With a $20 steam gift card, I was able to buy:
1. Tiny Rogues
2. Deep Rock Galactic Survivor
3. Enter the gungeon
4. Celeste
And I still have like $3 left over.
Update: I just bought FTL for $2.50 finishing off the remainder of my balance. Literally the best $20 ever spent!
Vampire survivor
Dave the diver
Cult of the lambs
Hades
Castle crashers
Borderlands 2/3
Balatro
Dead cells
Brotato
Halls of torment
Risk of rain 2
And many more I’m missing I’m sure.
And last but not least a combination of many of those for 20$.
I've been playing games like valheim, subnautica and soul mask, all fantastic survival craft games, I highly recommend. That being said Ipicked up palworld a couple days ago and it's so so much better than it had any right to be
Final Fantasy 14 is free for the first...a long long time. I'm pretty sure you can put in hundreds of hours for free. Queues are bad now because of the new expansion but if you've never played it, it's worth a try.
Only buy Black Desert Online if you are ok with Months and months of grinding. Game combat is fun, but end game is just a grindfest. I am sad I stopped at 120h of gameplay. Because of the grinding. It is unbearable to me. If you don’t mind grinding go ahead.
Nah i cant really stick to one game for a very long time. 🤣 right now ive been playing multiversus for 50 hours in total but getting uninterested in playing too much lately because it takes forever to unlock a character. Probably only 30 minutes-1 hour max whenever i log in. I find more enjoyment just browsing reddit or tiktok nowadays than playing games :( I'm 30
Warframe.
Warframe's free to play but if you really want to spend some money, wait for a 75% off coupon and buy the highest plat pack you can get, you won't be having problems with premium currency for a while.
Although none of that is necessary because the game is actually free to play, not the honeymoon phase type of dogshit like most of those gacha games.
I believe it was just announced that Forza Horizon 4 will no longer receive updates on weekly events after this current seasonal cycle is over, so you should get FH5 if you’re looking for a Forza game.
Yeah i have it for free from epic. I wonder if gta rp is possible with epics version or do I gotta have steams... hmm. I don't really like using voice chat if I do rp though. The things I hear people talk about turns me off or freaks me out sometimes lol
If you’re willing to spend a few more dollars, Enshrouded is $23.99 right now. 100s of hours of gameplay and it’s in early access right now so it’s will only get better.
Well you should try the finals. The problem is that it's free. A paid game is Battlefront 2,but you should get in on sale, i think it otherwise costs 40 dollars
My new obsession is We Who Are About To Die, it's a gladiator simulator game with true directional attacks, it's hella fun, also 30% off right now.
It's in Early Access, so if that's not your thing, disregard my suggestion.
ESO if multiplayer is your need, it’s a fun world, the story arcs are surprisingly good. I don’t know enough about MMOs to compare the combat but the environments are beautiful (the newer regions especially)
Well, Sea of Thieves is apparently exactly $19.99 currently. Amazing for multiplayer if you're there just to have fun. Or if you're trying to get good.
The Witcher 3 is my favorite game of all time but it looks like you enjoy sheer gameplay from your enjoyment of fighting games and racing games, the Witcher 3’s combat is kind of enjoyable but it’s clunky and pretty outdated. It might be a bit slow for your taste unless you really enjoy story driven games
Battlebit Remastered is on sale. It was huge when early access launched, but now there is less of a playerbase, but you can still find games.
Veey fun and addictive battlefield-esque game imo.
I played most of the famous MMO,
1. Guild wars 2 is good for exploration and story (it has a unique story).
2. Final fantasy 14 is really a story based game that has MMO elements (it is considered to finish the story first before going to End game content).
3. Elder Scroll Online had an addictive and interesting lore especially if you play the previous Elder Scroll games ( skyrim, morrowind, oblivion).
4. Black Desert Online is most focused on combat based on class as it is good to explore different classes in which you can use endgame content (the story is basic) and most characters are forgettable but the combat is good.
5. Warframe - the grind is real but free.
Apex Legends (free), Dead by Daylight (cheap) and Elder Scrolls Online (free but better with sub) are my most played games. Fantasy, sci-fi and horror. Multiplayer, competitive and relaxing exploration. ESO even has a roguelite mode. I have to MAKE myself play new games because these three games cover all my needs so well.
I saw friends vs friends but man after looking it up more on twitch it seems like not many people are playing it? So it might be difficult enjoying it as a newbie. It's a shame because it looks so cool.
Also there's this pokemon type game called cassette beasts. Not sure if that's worth it compared to other pokemon type games like temtem
Chivalry 2 is so much fun. Low pressure. Chat is a cesspool but the gameplay is top notch and has dynamic hit boxes that make it relevant where your weapon actually is in the swing animation, rather than just a hit box and loosely matched animation. Its all about dragging the hitbox by turning your character to put your sword or hammer in the proper place.
Rust. Join the dark side. Let it destroy your soul, family, friends and life. Nothing will matter to you anymore except rust. Rust is love, rust is life.
Foxhole. Easy. It's a bit of a weird one, but it's one of the most interesting multiplayer experiences I've ever had. They also have a game coming soon in a similar vein but with a more medieval setting that might be worth keeping an eye on if you enjoy Foxhole.

Dying Light is really fun
BDO is really fun, but a warframe-like grind fest. I like to play WoW if I feel like I want to PvP. If I don't, I go to BDO for grindfest or for more in-depth war. Something I will have you know about BDO now, you are able to get a max PVE weapon for free. Which is INSANE. 110bil in game value for free. FYI, it takes me 50+ hours to get that kinda silver in game. AND IT'S FREE? Im basically fully maxed besides 2 accessories. So 50+ is based off my grind locations. Easily 100+ for new players.
Another another vote for Deep Rock Galactic.
None of the DLC’s impact gameplay, they’re only for cosmetics. There’s no paying for any season content. All current and former season passes are free and accessible at any point. You can switch which season progression is active at any time while saving your progress in the one you had set previously. There is absolutely no gameplay content locked behind paywalls.
The developers are excellent.
Forza horizon 4 is on sale for 20 dollars all dlc included. It’s being delisted in December but the servers will stay and you’ll still be able to do everything. Absolutely worth the purchase imo
Battlefield V or 1.
Don't buy Fh4 now. It will be delisted around the end of summer and it will be on a constant sale till then if not on a bigger one.
multiplayer my ass, the witcher 3 is 3 dollars on steam rn. but if you want a multiplayer game so much then you can get some scary shit like phasmaphobia or lethal company. those are really fun with friends imo
It surprises me to recommend this, but if you're into simulators at all, American Truck Simulator is $2 and the dlcs are on sale. I've been obsessively making runs across Texas and New Mexico, while absolutely not making a profit with my 4 truck shop.
Ugh Darktide is 21$, pretty close.
Love it, but one may face stutter/freez/disconnection errors hapenning since Penance update. Tried to fix it for all this time, only today I managed to apply proper solution.
Dark and darker is free indefinitely and you can drop 30 to get the full game (Ranked mode, extra character slots , nothing advantageous in actual combat). I know it’s a bit steeper than your price point but at least the free version might be up your alley!!
u know a fighter that no one talks about you cant play no more? Marvel Nemesis. God that game was something new. like a 3d fighter.
black desrt does play like a fighter...its a marvelous game with alot of revolutionary systems but, it is the most grindy and kinda like souless grindiness. just really awesome animations endlessley on nameless mobs. It's cool for a while and if you like the grind, go for it. the story's kinda boring but it is the most fun as far as combat and life skilling goes.
The from software games are worthy of consideration, darksouls, elden ring. they have an almost fighter like combat system built on endless combinations of skills and weapons to use.
if you like dbz, xenoverse 2 is reallly good. theres alos the dbonline game that playss more like wow as a fighter. Brawlhalla and that free multiverse game are really fun too.
Hi. Black Desert Online player here. I have played since launch.
Don’t play Black Desert.
I don’t know what game you should play at that price point, but I know that BDO is not a game you should play.
I’m not joking. I play the game because of sunk cost, and I have Stockholm Syndromed myself into believing that I enjoy it, but it’s not a good game.

Did I hear a "ROCK AND STONE?!"
My life for rock and stone!
For Kaaaarrrrrlllll
Deep Rock Galactic is the shit. Near 300 hours majority with randoms via matchmaking and it's atill a blast.
You're never alone with ROCK AND STONE Deep Rock Galactic is the best answer to this question.
Do yourself a favour and buy an overpriced skin on a game, quickly!!
Aha, nice try Activision/Ubisoft/EA. Surely no one will fall for this… surely. right?
/Gameloft…looking at you, Dreamlight Valley 😤
idk man, that's an easy CS2 reference
/Riot
No he is 480$ short of that skin
HURRY!!!
\*laughs in DOA Xtreme\*
wym i could get 15 games with $100 ? Theres a cute bundle on valorant for that price ! clearly you guys dont have your priorities straight
Deep Rock Galactic.
Seconded. Great arcade pve shooter with a great sense of identity.
Thirdeded Legit one of the best games I’ve ever played
Forthenized for rock and stone!

are none of you gonna kill the damn naedocyte breeder? im trying to mine.
DRG is fantastic
20 copies of Bloons TD6.
bought that shit for 15 bucks like last week. im fuckin mad bruh
You should be able to ask for a refund!
Ive played for like 10 hours LOL.
I think you can still do that as it just went on sale so they give you back the rest you overpayed but I’m not sure
They absolutely will not.
Even worse, Epic gave it for free some months ago
If you somehow don't already own them, L4D2 and Portal 2 are great games for only $0.99.
Yes it is single player and multiplayer both L4d1 and 2
Most of the fun of L4D is from the multiplayer experience.
I don't see it mentioned, Elder Scrolls Online base game is like $5. It's a great game and if you splurge and buy the latest expansion you'll get all previous 10 or 12 expansions with it. Surprised no one mentioned Vermintide 2, it's 6 bucks and tons of fun.
Imo it's the only game that really pushed the coop horde shooter forward after L4D2. The sheer content in that game is unmatched
witcher 3 is on sale right now. complete edition is 10$ Forza horizon 4 as well 8$
When did they add multiplayer to Witcher?
I recently made the best use of $20 in my life. With a $20 steam gift card, I was able to buy: 1. Tiny Rogues 2. Deep Rock Galactic Survivor 3. Enter the gungeon 4. Celeste And I still have like $3 left over. Update: I just bought FTL for $2.50 finishing off the remainder of my balance. Literally the best $20 ever spent!
TINY ROGUES WOOOOOOOH
Chivalry 2 is pretty fun if you don't already have it
Wasn't that free a week or two ago on epic games?
Vampire survivor Dave the diver Cult of the lambs Hades Castle crashers Borderlands 2/3 Balatro Dead cells Brotato Halls of torment Risk of rain 2 And many more I’m missing I’m sure. And last but not least a combination of many of those for 20$.
Risk of Rain is goated
Dave the Diver is excellent can't stop recommending it to everyone.
I second third and fourth Balatro. You won’t regret it.
You will regret it. But for good reasons.
Vampire survivors have kept me up too late way too often. Such an addictive game.
I've been playing games like valheim, subnautica and soul mask, all fantastic survival craft games, I highly recommend. That being said Ipicked up palworld a couple days ago and it's so so much better than it had any right to be
Valheim is legit
Project Zomboid is on sale
V rising or Mh world + iceborne has coop too
Guild wars 2 and the 2 expansion bundle + still have $10 to spare still ($aud)
Roboquest. There is no other answer. Action. Just straight action.
Final Fantasy 14 is free for the first...a long long time. I'm pretty sure you can put in hundreds of hours for free. Queues are bad now because of the new expansion but if you've never played it, it's worth a try.

For a city builder Frostpunk is on sale for dort cheap.
You should try GW2: base game is free, there is tons of exploration, it's MMO and combat is very well implemented.
Ill try
Terraria!
I’ve heard great shit about battlebit
Warframe. Warframe's free to play but if you really want to spend some money, wait for a 75% off coupon and buy the highest plat pack you can get, you won't be having problems with premium currency for a while. I would try gunfire reborn (cartoonish multiplayer rogue like shooter). It’s on sale on steam rn and I’ve gotten hundreds of hours of fun on it :)
Balatro, you're welcome.
** DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND IMMEDIATELY GRAB THE WITCHER 3 COMPLETE EDITION ** Thank me after 100+hours of immersive unforgettable story
My favorite game but not something I would recommend for this request…
Dont believe any witcher 3 suggestions btw.
Not multiplayer
Ahh yes I loved the multiplayer in Witcher 3
dark and darker - it's free! use the $20 to buy Legendary status for more char slots etc
Gta online is a very good multiplayer experience
Yeah i have it for free from epic. I wonder if gta rp is possible with epics version or do I gotta have steams... hmm. I don't really like using voice chat if I do rp though. The things I hear people talk about turns me off or freaks me out sometimes lol
Mechabellum especially the 4FFA mode with friends. It gets super hilarious XD
Mechabellum is really nice, my best buy of 2023 I believe, have 300+ hours in this game already.
If you’re willing to spend a few more dollars, Enshrouded is $23.99 right now. 100s of hours of gameplay and it’s in early access right now so it’s will only get better.
You could try chivalry 2, it is an online multiplayer game based on sword and hand to hand combat
Just missed the free grab. I am glad I got it. It's a fun game.
Your only move is hustle, streets of rouge, risk of rain 2
Parkitect!
Last epoch
Final Fantasy 14 is like wow, free until lvl 70 for 1 character, then same model as wow (paid expansions and 12,99/Month)
Monster hunter world
*addictive
Well you should try the finals. The problem is that it's free. A paid game is Battlefront 2,but you should get in on sale, i think it otherwise costs 40 dollars
Warhammer: Vermontide 2 - $6 co-op and multiplayer left4dead style rpg
State of decay 2, Left 4 Dead 2, titanfall 2
[Abiotic Factor](https://store.steampowered.com/app/427410/Abiotic_Factor/) half-life 1 style survival game
Is the Predecessor beta available through Steam?
I'm pretty sure Project Zomboid is on sale right now!
My new obsession is We Who Are About To Die, it's a gladiator simulator game with true directional attacks, it's hella fun, also 30% off right now. It's in Early Access, so if that's not your thing, disregard my suggestion.
Hades its on sale for 10 dollar's easily 100+ hours of content....its addictive but does not feel like a chore
ESO if multiplayer is your need, it’s a fun world, the story arcs are surprisingly good. I don’t know enough about MMOs to compare the combat but the environments are beautiful (the newer regions especially)
Cstle Crashers is a multiplayer with friends, it's super fun, and it's 90% off rn. Highly recommended!
for honor should be on sale, it's kind of a fighter and moba hybrid so you might like it
i just feel like the witcher for 3$ is a must get. I know its not multiplayer but still. Sensational experience
Battlefield V and I offten are on big sales for around 5$-9$.
If you want to try something new maybe give**enter the gungeon** a shot
The Witch 3 is for 3.99€ on steam until July 11th
path of exile, it does have a bit of learning curve but somewhere during learning the soul will be sold
ESO
Battlefield V is less than $4 right now. Deep rock galactic is good.
TOM CLANY GHOST RECON IS CURRENTLY £5
Try the first INSURGENCY. Pease understand that as the original release and not Insurgency Sandstorm (as unreal engine 4 is hard on computers)
Battlebit Remastered is on sale. It was huge when early access launched, but now there is less of a playerbase, but you can still find games. Veey fun and addictive battlefield-esque game imo.
Deep rock

It's a shame because it looks so cool. Also there's this pokemon type game called cassette beasts. Not sure if that's worth it compared to other pokemon type games like temtem
Monster Hunter World
Chivalry 2
Hunter call of the wild master Hunter bundle

Rimworld, Skyrim… both of those are a good start. Just don’t go poking the giant robots with a log, will you? 😂
Forza Horizon 4, buy now and keep playing it while it being removed from all store
Buy Tekken 8 or Gw2. You wont regret it!!! Actually Gw2 base game is free...try it
Lethal Company is basically a Final Destination simulator
Dave the diver is great! Chill game with laid back comedic vibes. Cut scenes are beautiful.
Hades!! Super addictive lol
4x terraria for you and your friends.

Big part of your budget, but just started Hunt: Showdown. It’s actually really cool. A lot of neat mechanics
Do you like hunting monsters? Monster Hunter Iceborne Master edition is 20 bucks on steam.

Sea of Thieves is fun with friends.
Forza horizon 4 is on sale for 20 dollars all dlc included. It’s being delisted in December but the servers will stay and you’ll still be able to do everything. Absolutely worth the purchase imo

Battlefield 1
Chivalry 2
Battlefield V or 1. Don't buy Fh4 now. It will be delisted around the end of summer and it will be on a constant sale till then if not on a bigger one.
If you have friends, Don’t starve together should definitely be on your list. Comes with an extra copy too to gift someone.
Cruelty Squad

Blasphemous 1&2.
Left 4 dead 2. Just ignore the constant racism in chat and you'll be fine
Chivalry 2. True happiness is dueling a chandelier with a leg of ham.
If you've got other friends that will also buy the game and play it with you I suggest astroneer
Buy Guild Wars 2 , 100's of hours easy
It surprises me to recommend this, but if you're into simulators at all, American Truck Simulator is $2 and the dlcs are on sale. I've been obsessively making runs across Texas and New Mexico, while absolutely not making a profit with my 4 truck shop.
Ugh Darktide is 21$, pretty close. Love it, but one may face stutter/freez/disconnection errors hapenning since Penance update. Tried to fix it for all this time, only today I managed to apply proper solution.
It either clicks with you or it doesn't. But if you get into DayZ you can easily spend all night playing it and not realize how late it's gotten.
DOA 6.
Check out monster hunter world with iceborne dlc
Risk of rain 2 or deep rock galactic, having fun with these two games with my friends
BALATROOOOOOOOOOO
Chivalry 2, it's on sale for 13 bucks right now on steam It's a 64 player medieval slasher, and never gets old imo
I know it’s not multiplayer but the deal is too good. Mass effect trilogy is $6 right now on Steam.
7d2d before the price ups in 2 weeks
battlebit is the only mp game i'm playing.
R6 an BF2. All you need! 😆
Terraria
Project Zomboid, Outlast Trials, Risk of Rain
zomboid
Dark and darker is free indefinitely and you can drop 30 to get the full game (Ranked mode, extra character slots , nothing advantageous in actual combat). I know it’s a bit steeper than your price point but at least the free version might be up your alley!!
Elder Scrolls Online
You can get 3 of the guild wars 2 expansion for only $20 buy it you won’t regret it especially if you’re into mmos
u know a fighter that no one talks about you cant play no more?
Not online but Kenshi is cool
Content warning and lethal company
Warframe and the First Descendant are f2p
It's 25 dollars but V rising is great
Left 4 dead 2 is 2 dollars rn
Risk of rain 2
CS2
L4D2, versus is pretty toxic, campaign not so much, both are fun
Stay far away from BDO
