I'd buy and leave as is, honestly. MK25 is a nice pistol. I put thousands of rounds through my P226 before I did anything to it. If you do change anything, save the original parts, as MK25 internals are treated against rust. On P226s, the Short Reset Trigger system is a nice upgrade (but I've read some MK25s came with it). Outside of that, you couple do the Super Strut and Enhanced Leverage Systems from GrayGuns. Hogue Extreme Grips are nice too.

vtpark97

It seems Sig updated the strut. My MK25’s strut (manufactured in Nov. 2023) is identical to Sig Armorer SuperStrut except for the color (coating).

kentuckyMarksman

Nice! I just know my P226R from 2002 wasn't and I did the GG upgrade

vtpark97

Yeah, but I installed Sig Armorer SuperStrut anyway since I bought it already and has a better coating, but I noticed little to no difference in the double-action pull (~1500 rounds between the stock and SuperStrut).

kentuckyMarksman

There was less crunch in mine after the super strut, but again I was replacing 20 year old parts. The old spring seat on mine was plastic, I think putting the aluminum one in was the difference for me

LeVision_72

I did a full GreyGuns upgrade on mine… trigger and grip panels.. was able to feel a substantial improvement from the first shot after the upgrade.

kentuckyMarksman

I've done everything but the hammer on mine.

minutemanmedic86

Leave it as is.

TurbulentSquirrel804

If the intention is to improve looks, only you know what you like. For me, looks are a product of function.

unicornmagicman

The most COD thing I’ve heard in this group. OP gets a nice mk25 and goes “what upgrades do I need to make this look so beast”

jerajotunn

SRT kit if it didnt come with it. .75in reset is no good. Granted my MK25 is from 2012.

Libido_Max

Scope not optics, bayonet not flashlight I saw another post did that.

dadsskateshop

SRT, xray3 sights, legion controls and maybe tacops grips or the E2 grip. Honestly you can skip the upgrades but you have to get the srt

Ancient-Floor-1047

Legion controls only work with Legion grips.

dadsskateshop

You sure about that… someone on YT (ferraristeve/steve Jenkins) installed legion slide catch and decocker with what looks like a non-legion grip https://preview.redd.it/ohv1240cwt8d1.jpeg?width=2360&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=15f0955cd6896d8b5ef36051340a6a0b412164f4

Ancient-Floor-1047

It's possible with trimming. But out of the box they don't fit. As a Legion owner, the slide release isn't the best on the Legion. I much prefer my standard controls on my p227.

Temetka

Training and ammo.

Reach-around69

Leave as is just get ammo

DeweyRocks22

It’s generally the guy holding it that makes it look “so beast” lol. That being said I don’t think a SRT is a bad idea.

DeweyRocks22

Also you should put a light on it, gotta see what you’re shooting.

JoeJitsu4EVER

Your gun is not the beast. You are the beast if you are skillful with it.

Fbaez324

You need nothing on an MK25, clean it, oil it, pew pew it.

SnooCakes4019

There is no reason to modify a 226. They are excellent right out of the box.

maverickfishing

Threaded barrel, tall sights.

ExLap_MD

IMO, the Mk25 isn't a gun you modify to change aesthetics. Get a P320 or a P365 if you're concerned about making it "look so beast." You mentioned weight, but not really sure what you wanted to do about it. The P226 is a relatively heavy gun with an alloy frame, and no modification is going to make it lighter - in other words, if you want a lighter gun, look for a polymer gun, or a P229 M11A1, which is a more compact version and 4.5oz lighter. As far as mods for improving, if it doesn't have an improved SRT (short reset trigger) via Greyguns P-SAID trigger, then I would do that. I wouldn't cut it for an optic either. If you want to mount an optic, get a P226 Legion, which comes with SRT mod. People who buy the Mk25 usually keep it as is; but it's your money. Do what you want. Just giving you my opinion since you're asking for it.

Coldpiecekilla

I suggest grips, grayguns srt and els

TigOleBitman

SRT, X300, holster. Then larp as a SEAL

Educational_Funny_80

If you like to shoot and shoot quick like doubles and bill drills ect , SRT , and a dot

Sorerightwrist

A couple internal upgrades if she’s worn and personally I’d do a trigger replacement because I do not shoot well with a “J” style trigger.

xlaterb

Threaded barrel, optic cut+optics, suppressor sights, flight light won’t hurt.

virgildoolittle

X300 and SRT. That’s it

laskmich

SRT and SuperStrut for sure. I’m also partial to checkered G10 Hogue grips.

DoucheyMcBagBag

G10 grips and the Pro Cut slide.

Camwiz59

I only added a Crimson Trace because I got a deal on it , by a few additional magazines is all it might need other than a P229 so it won’t be lonely

notyourkryptonian

I added grips to mine, hated the stock grips.. [https://imgur.com/a/XTDsfin](https://imgur.com/a/XTDsfin)

RegularOrExtraCrispy

I just finished a gray guns SRT and flat trigger install and love it. Plus I came to find I have smaller hands in the gun world. The E2 grips are a great pickup off the sig site

kingsalo88

Never plan on changing mine around, not the grips not anything I love it as is. Even the anchor looks badass!

Mouse-Ancient

My Blackwater 226 hast the SRT trigger which was a nice surprise

Ok-House-6848

Get a supp barrel and an old school 20-round mag.

Substantial-Cost-606

If you have small hands, install the short reach trigger. Not to be confused with the short rest trigger

Electrical-Tap-3043

Don’t “upgrade” it you goofball

PewPewMeToo

Buy it and leave it alone. It's already beast

ChevyRacer71

I got one for my wife, it’s great as is, nothing needs to be done to it at all

rmoughon

What is your use case? Home defense - put a light on it and get 1000 rounds of ammo. Fire half / year and restock as needed.

Fit-Indication3662

You want to improve its looks? Give it a bath for 5 hours. Blow dry. Then put make up on it.

[deleted]

Too big,, nice gun but too big for my taste. If it’s not concealable I don’t want it. That’s a gun to have in your country ranch. No use for me in the city
