Somebody please explain to me how are grids suppose to work or help?

Well you should watch it in youtube they can explain you how to use. I'm good at English so I can't explain properly

Grids help you to get a basic outline of the sketch ,you make grids on the reference photo and the sketching sheet,then you match the outlines grid to grid
