Technically they are the same. what's important is that you use 1/4 teaspoon for your face and 1/4 teaspoon for your neck. You should measure it, it is way more than you probably use. The problem with moisturizers' with SPF is that people usually don't use enough to get proper coverage.
Tons of us use sunscreen. I in fact reapply sunscreen several times a day as everyone should. I put on sunscreen 4 times total today. I have different sunscreens for at home, the gym, and for outside. I have been doing so for years now and I definitely think my skin has been holding up better than peers my age.
Okay so but my face is tiny for being a tiny person lol. Is there a better way to measure like maybe something with my fingers since that will be more proportional to my face?
I use real sunscreen but it's just fairly moisturizing, I use it as my AM moisturizer. [Paula's Choice Youth Extending Serum](https://www.paulaschoice.com/resist-youth-extending-daily-hydrating-fluid-spf-50/780.html) is my favorite sunscreen I've used, it's the one area of skincare I'm willing to splurge on. Sunscreen is really important and probably the best product for long term skin health and anti-aging (not to mention the cancer prevention!).
Moisturizers with SPF def work but make sure you're applying generously!! You need to apply a largish amount of sunscreen (2 fingers or a quarter-ish circle) to your face/neck to get the full SPF of your product.
I’m trying to but finding the right one that 1. does not break me out 4-5 days later and 2. I actually like the way it feels and looks (not greasy, light weight, matted, does not make me look like an Oompa Loompa for tinted) is so challenging. I’m gonna try oil cleansing at night to see if removing the sunscreen is the issue, but I’ve also order 4 different ones: Suntique I’m Safe for Sensitive, CosRx Aloe Soothing Sun Cream, Missha All Around Safe Block Essence, and Sun Bum Tinted. Let the long experimentation begin.
Based from what I read and seen online, it is actual sunscreen that we should use everyday and not a moisturizer with sunscreen. I am one of those who use actual sunscreen everyday.
It should be added that, if OP wants to use sunscreen for anti aging as well, then application indoors should happen too as UVA passes through windows.
moisturizer/makeup with sunscreen typically isn’t enough because you don’t want to put the amount necessary for sun protection on. It’s best to separate the two.
I wear sunscreen every day, even indoors. Usually unseen sunscreen by super goop
Not necessarily. Depending on the country, a product sold as a sunscreen should have uva and uvb protection. A product sold as a moisturizer with added spf can have uvb filters only to fulfill the "spf X" they claim on the package, since the spf level refers only to uvb protection. Most moisturizers with spf do offer uvb and uva protection, but not all.
Edited to add that this varies with each country's regulation.
Agreed. Very different and so are standards of how they are tested and allowed to degrade etx depending on the country it’s being sold in.
I live in Australia and our sunscreens are crazy tested and regulated as a drug.
Not all sunscreens are equal. Not all ratings mean the same thing. It’s important to find one you like and ensure it’s rating is sufficient for how you plan to use it!
This isn’t true in the U.S., where OP is located. Here, stand-alone sunscreens and moisturizers with SPF are tested the same. Some moisturizers with SPF even have 80 minutes of water resistance (the highest category).
Moisturizer with SPF is the same exact thing as regular sunscreen, as long as it's broad spectrum. The thing is that you have to apply the same amount that you would a sunscreen, which is a lot.

I am a sunscreen everyday person lol . The La Roche-Posay Anthelios Ultra Light Fluid Face Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 60 is my fav.
If you find a good sunscreen, then wearing it everyday isn’t a challenge.
Which one do you use? Does it leave you feeling greasy?
Look up the best in your country and try a few. Took me about 5 until I found one that I can wear everyday no problem
Which one is that?

May I ask which one? I havent found one that doesn’t leave my face greasy with strands of hair sticking to my cheeks every 10 seconds
Super goop unseen sunscreen doesn’t do this
Either is fine and it’s best to apply if you’re going outside. Depending on the day I usually don’t apply when I’m indoors

I use sunscreen everyday. I prefer the tinted one by Elta MD
They're the same thing just different names for marketing. All spfs are moisturizing, but not all moisturizers have spf.
