Nice! Did you pet the pup?

ankmos

he’s my pup🥰

jakevschu

Even better news, thank you

Star_Bois

My biggest critique is for the image on the third slide. What should the viewer focus on, there's no focal point like you have in the rest of your photos

ankmos

i totally get what you mean, but i just find it a really pretty scene🤷‍♀️ i’m still a beginner in photography and im trying to improve

Star_Bois

It’s all good, you’re already doing great! It can be good though to keep in mind how can I best show off this scene or is there another angle to try. Such as using the edge of the path as a leading line to that tree or go with a tight shot of the tree and windmill taking up more of the frame. Keep at it and you’ll get even better!

ankmos

thanks! will go back there and try a different method :)

antimaestrilico

this will probably be my first kit, nice!

ankmos

highly recommend!

NOB1WON

Running the same set up. Great budget cam for docs with a V mount battery and shotgun mic

ankmos

what’s a v mount battery?

NOB1WON

It’s a battery used on film productions. The v mount stands for the type of locking mechanism it uses. The benefits of using one is that you can power your cam and accessories(monitors, focus motors, wireless transmission) for HOURS. My kit can last more then 6+ hours off a single battery

ankmos

oh nice! i like to film a lot aswell, is it worth getting a whole rig with a monitor, mic and battery?

NOB1WON

That entirely depends on what you wanna do in the future. I built mine out because I knew I wanted something to last all day, but I barely use it now just cuz I don’t have that many shoots due to school

ankmos

Ah okay, i really want to get a interior shoot gig for some houses/apartments. I’ve done some practice around my house and i’m thinking of reaching out to some brokers and showing off my work. though i’m very interested in doing that sort of work but in a video form, so that’s why i’m thinking of getting some proper video gear.

hungrycule

Really nice. Currently hesitating to upgrade from my kit lens, might choose this lens too

ankmos

i recommend starting out on a prime lens, thats what i did. i used a 35mm 1.8 lens for 8 months and used it for everything! its a great way to learn how to position yourself and not just rely on the zoom to get the composition you want☺️

Fish_On_An_ATM

Very nice! (That's also the exact setup i'm using rn)

ankmos

nice! are you enjoying it?

Both-Following9917

They look great but I think you missed the focus on the first one?

ankmos

maybe it’s a bit too close but its a cute shot so 🤷‍♀️

Zrabdolin

1. Pic with windy dog: something is wrong with the purple flowers on the left. It's blurry. Maybe the shutertime was too long and it was windy so it coudn't freeze. 2. Path way pic: Focus point needs to be close or higher apature. The blur is to extreme. 3. Dog on leash: Put the dog in the full frame. Go closer leave a little space in front of any animal that's good but it is too much. Too much blur in the front. It disrupts the picture. 4. Purple flower feeld: good the blurry flowers in the front are kinda dominat but that's personal preference. 5. Purple single flower: alittle higer apature some part of the flower are not 100% sharp. Blur is good to create volume but it can also disturb if it is something our brain wants to identify.

ankmos

fair points, i’m still learning!

Zrabdolin

Could be many things dust or fatty oily durt on the lens even condesation on the lense or sensor. The dog and flowers around him are sharp so I think the speed should be high enough. Btw allways leave some space where you subject(the dog) is looking at. Keep going!! I still make these mistakes myself. Make sure the quality fits and if you're not sure make the framing bit bigger and crop it in the post prodution. At some point your eyes will see it without thinking. Try to shoot animal at the best sharpnes of your lense mostly around 7.1 or 8 apature. And make sure the fur has not the same colour as the surounding background. See the left ear it's faiding in the roof of the builing. And allways have fun😊

ankmos

hm, it’s definetely not dust or oil. i always keep my lens and sensor clean and there were no such artifact on any other pics i took before or after that one :/

[deleted]

Was shot 3 meant to be in there ?

ankmos
