Im a fan of her artistry pero Im honestly underwhelmed dito sa TTPD. I was expecting yung poems and lots of wordplays/metaphors/references kagaya sa Folklore and Evermore.
If I'd ever buy a TS album, it will be Folklore 'cause I like to overall poetic side of it. I don't get why she has to rush releasing this new album only to serve something felt like hilaw
That’s the word, hilaw. This one’s unpolished, lots of unhinged moments. I mean it could work for some artists but not for her. Definitely The 1975 inspired lyrically.
The recent 15 Anthology songs were very folklore/evermore-coded, in my opinion. Mas maganda pen game niya doon sa set na iyon. But I still really enjoyed TTPD
Dun sa anthology madami! Tbh I think ito pinakamalalim niyang album. Mas malalim pa sa folklore at evermore. Are you all kidding me? Yung Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me palang eh…
Andaming hint about marriage. Kaya ang theory ko talaga sa "Lavender Haze" nyang song is that hindi sya ang may gustong mag stay sa 'Lavender haze', kundi si Joe.
Anyways, my fave track is DOWN BAD!!!
"Fck it if I cant have us,
Fck it if i canr have him" !!!!!!!!!
I like Taylor in general pero the lyrics in this album...are not it.
Clearly na she's having a writer's block because the lyrics in this album seems rushed and not as fluid as her other songs from previous albums. Saka umay na ung mga Jack Antonoff na produced tracks na obvious na obvious ung mga synthesisers.
I'm still having secondhand embarrassment with "I'm having his baby, no I'm not"
Mareng Taylor labas mo na lang ung Reputation TV
I am expecting that she will go back to folk or country style music. I am expecting that this album will be a Bob Dylan inspired in terms of style or sound, but kinda disappointed it wasn't and still poppy. It was just midnights 2.
On the new album she’s literally calling the tiny sensible, decent subset of her mostly toxic fanbase sanctimonious “vipers” and “wine moms” for criticising her for knowingly dating a sadistic Nazi who publicly admitted that he LITERALLY gets off on watching inner-city black women get humiliated and sexually assaulted. Most of these are the same fans who passionately defend her for having a private jet carbon footprint bigger than entire cities in Africa, and whenever she is criticised for dating a gazillion men purely for PR + song material purposes. We all know that if Ratty Healy publicly admitted to jerking off to vulnerable and abused white women, most of the Swifties fanbase who belong to at least the white category would’ve publicly bullied her to the point of quitting music.
Not to mention that on this album she’s also made Joe’s clinical depression public: sending her toxic, rapid fan base all this time to haunt the poor guy all this time knowing about his mental issues. And don’t even get me started on the ultra cringe lyrics about Charlie Puth, “tattooed golden retrievers” and “I’m having his baby…no I’m not” lmao wtf. She sure is a modern day poet indeed.
Taylor is a mostly mediocre songwriter and an absolute narcissist completely incapable of any self-reflection or accepting her mistakes, and I hope the fact that she’s now shitting on her own fans for calling her out on her BS is what finally breaks the camel’s back for a lot of her sensible fans.
This is why I agree sa nabasa ko somewhere sa Twitter -- that she's more of a businesswoman than an artist. Sad but true. And most Swifties won't even admit it.
Some of you might attack me for saying this, but yeah, *mediocre.*
The story telling is good, ofc. but the musicality, typical na masyado. I was hoping for more. Para s'yang *Side B* ng *Midnights* talaga. Nonetheless, its good just wasn't good enough.
Swifties please don't attack me.
I like the lyricism on the extra 15 songs more (The Black Dog to The Manuscript) compared sa first 16 songs (Fortnight to Clara Bow). Though loml have me on chokehold. Grabe yung from "love of my life" to "loss of my life".
It’s like she took her Tumblr from early 2000s and added music. What is this?? The only salvaging tracks for me are the ones that Aaron Dessner produced— so mostly the bonus tracks.
Nakakaumay pakinggan huhuhu.
sa totoo lang, nakakasawa na rin yung songs about exes na concept. Also, masyado nang oa for me. Cringe din sa lyrics.
Ang ganda na nung Folklore at Evermore eh. Kumbaga new concept/stories pero at the same time some songs might be related to her rin naman pero subtle lang) Tapos biglang meh nung midnights then itong TTPD. Nakakadisappoint.
I'm expecting something folklore-like na very cohesive and sound. Yung melancholic but still comforting na mapapakinggan ko kahit na tapos na rainy season sa atin. But TTPD is just... di siya flowy for me. Kinda disappointed but I love Fortnight and Florida. Just missing "haunted" and "wonderland" type of music. Also, the lyrics... it is too wordy. Maybe Taylor is pressured to become more poetic since yan yung expectations sa kanya ng fanbase. But I wish she could go back to her old self.
Honestly, I'm starting to reevaluate myself as someone na sumusubaybay sa music niya. I realize na parang wala pa ring nagbago sa kanya, like maybe she will always be that artist na nagsusulat lagi about sa mga ex niya.
Ngl, simula nung nag Eras Tour siya at mas lalong sumikat, I think I'm starting to see who she is as an artist.
Wala naman akong masyadong expectations sa TTPD, pero nakakadisappoint to think na every time I listen to her songs, palagi na lang about her exes.
Nakakaumay. Katagalan maaoutgrow ko na siya. Sad haha.
Disappointed. Ang sad lang kasi I was expecting na parang folklore/evermore vibes sya or something na heart breaking talaga syempre with that poetic lyrics pero meh di ko feel the songs. I guess abangan ko na lang irelease yung Need na nagviral sa tiktok before lol it's a need!!!
Sounds like 2017-ish Indie pop. First thought ko pa lang sa Fortnight ay “Lana!” hahahha Okay naman sakin ang lyrics but most sound is really just a rehash of the previous albums. I guess mas interesado lang talaga ako sa kwento sa likod nung mga kanta. hahahahaha
Medyo agree din ako sa hiatus. Dahil parepareho na ang tunog, may umay factor na din. Maganda pa rin ang may air of mystery at element of surprise kagaya nina Bruno Mars at Adele. Mas aappreciate yung mga kanta kasi may “pahinga” sa tenga hahaha.
But anyway yun nga, kung next year may bagong album ulit, parang nagchuchurn out na lang ng kanta for the sake of it. Parang nagtatrauma dumping na ng kaunti si Madam TS hahahah sa dami ng release.
I also found the double album kind of a stretch na.
Yes huhu. I wished she refined the songs better than serving underwhelming tracks. She has nothing to prove naman na. Why rush something disappointing?
Her releases and mega marketing work tend to overshadow many other great work out there. Naalala ko yung reaction ng artist-audience sa Grammys nung inannounce nya yung new album nya — parang more like "Okayyyy" vs thrilled
If there’s one thing I’m happy about is that there’s no obvious bitter diss track against my boy Joe Alwyn. Parang naka pick up na siya siguro na self-victimizing bops no longer suit her age
Ngl I was really expecting something similar to folklore or evermore and I was really overwhelmed by how poppy some of the songs were and it distracted me from actually understanding the lyrics on the first listen lol. Also, I was really expecting lyrics that would make me look it up. Underwhelming, the 15 songs from The Anthology were better imo, but a few songs from the first 16 really stuck w me lmao.
As a listener na love lahat ng album ni Taylor before this, I hate that I’m not feeling TTPD huhu sobrang cringe talaga ng ibang lyrics te.
Fast forward na lang tayo sa rep tv pls 😭
Ako na hindi pa nakarinig sa kahit isang whole song from her midnights na album...aside sa mga short audios from TikTok, wala talaga. Need ko na talaga pakinggan yung dalawang album. Hahaha skl :)
Kasi stuck pa rin me sa folklore and evermore until now.
She just rushed this album thinking that it's good but no it's not. It's mediocre. Too bad, everyone had high expectations since she announced this album during Grammy's (thus making the show all about her na) lol
pakinggan nyo lang tuwing gabi or siguro daytime if may aircon kasi hindi bagay yung vibes sa oven-like weather natin HAHHAHA relapse habang tirik ang araw charis
For me Down Bad wasn’t only a simple unrequited love affair, it also felt like you were made believe that his intentions were pure, until you fully breakdown your walls for him. You tell him about your past and the things that you’re scared of, just for him to leave you for the same reason but in a more painful way because you already believed it was gonna be a different story this time.
“Did you take all my old clothes?
Just to leave me here naked and alone
In a field in my same old town
That somehow seems so hollow noW
They'll say I'm nuts if I talk about the existence of you. For a moment I was heaven struck”
Kinda underwhelming for me. I haven't listened to all of the songs yet cause I stopped midway. Parang walang nag-instant click for me talaga, loved the lyrics of So Long, London tho. Ansaket niya.
The Anthology songs in TTPD slaps! If the original 16 songs of TTPD still has traces of Midnights, the 15 surprise songs on the album took me back to folklore, her best album personally. Her pen game in the Anthology songs are also very much reminiscent of folklore/evermore, plus mas cohesive siya than the first 15 songs.
I was actually not expecting much from this album because I was disappointed by Midnights, I think it was overrated and undeservedly won the AOTY at the Grammys (which should have went to SOS or GUTS). I also saw tweets yesterday saying that this album is not that good so I actually went into this already conditioned to dislike it but surprisingly, this album just embraces me the right way after just the first listen. Idk, maybe it's because it's just my kind of songs?
What I like most about the first 16 songs of TTPD was that I heard shades of artists that I really like: the 1975, lana, cigs after sex, phoebe bridgers, the xx. Guilty as sin? is my favorite so far, I Look in People's Windows in the second half (but all Aaron Dessner produced songs basically). Kaumay na rin si Antonoff pero I really, really love the sound of Fortnight.

Ive been reading comments and I think most people are off with this album, I guess too much expectation on your end and I have none of it? But to put things, one reason Im thinking is also about the age of those saying this isnt the best piece, maybe theyre just starting on the part of having too much taylor, over saturateing the music scene. Ive felt this after the release of evermore, and though I agree that the writing on evermore and folklore are great plus its a different Taylor from all the pop songs shes been for the last decade until Folklore and Evermore. I was second yr highschool when she released her first album, so I know and have no choice to be a part of her growth as a singer (no choice because it was everywhere lol). With all those, every year it felt like she’s rediscovering herself. Even Midnight was 1989 2.0 for me. 1989 was my baby if it weren’t for the detached Welcome to New York, cause I dont Ill ever have a chance going there anymore hahaaha Plus the yearly rush to release her own version of her songs so that she can own it properly.
Fast forward we have TTPD. Its the first Taylor’s album in years that I was able to listen to without a skip. Surprisingly 😅 Its giving a Love Story Vibes, early TS era, where lyrics are so simple and teenage. This doesnt feel like a part of rediscovering herself stage, but knowing everything already (I guess for having an ex who somehow put her in the same situation as before, proving once again that all men are trash). This is her safe space for herself. And a safe space for me as well. I wouldnt know about the technicalities of overall musicality but I keep on hearing the same sound on her songs ever since, and I dont think its inevitable like a writer writing multiple novels would somehow have repeating tones on it. Not surprising to me, because Im a Bleachers fan, but ever since TS collaboradted with Jack Antonoff, even without knowing it will always be one of their collaborators songs that I will the most on each album. DOWN BAD is my new jam now. I also agree that the second part has more new ways of being written probably of Aaron but again still I like the first part better being played safe.
Overall its lowkey in a sense that this album doesnt have so much noise created prior to its release. I guess she doesnt need anymore but no single released for an album is something only people with confidence can do. lyrics are plain, and cringey, and random, and I think thats the fun part. A safespace played safe. I agree to one comment here its giving Lang Leav vibes, like isnt it all? haha I think its the other way around, Lang Leav poems giving TS vibes. I still do think that she’s still oversaturating the music scene, like why dont she give these stories for somebody to sing to, I want her to surprise me that way. An album she wrote sang by different artists cause we’ve all seen how she can play her nursery rhymes well already.
Im already seeing lyrics parellelism between her previous songs and songs in this album, and I felt like this is unlearning what you have thought me vibes, unloving what I have learned to love because “You think it’s romantic to leave me stranded (down bad)” from her Leave me stranded, cause its romantic (New Romantics)…
Sana mag rock siya next. It would really break the internet. Di ko feel itong new album niya and I'm a huge Swiftie. Siguro mataas lang talaga expectation ko sa album na ito.
Sana she would ditched Jack and Aaron as producers kasi nakakasawa pakinggan kasi paulit-ulit yung tunog. Switch genre and find new producers - ang daming magagaling. TTPD parang evermore lyrics na may Midnights sound. I wanted to like this new album pero sobrang monotone ng tunog 😭
I think most of us felt underwhelmed since we pre-saved this album way before the date of release. I agree with your point, that she should explore new genre. I don't know if it's just me, Fortnight is good, but I was really expecting more from Post Malone. Nonetheless, their first collab wasn't bad at all. I've been listening to him since 2018, and I'm so happy to hear both of these artist in one track.
I think TS needs a rest and break from music. The first 17 songs were meh. Medyo OA na siya and not in a good way. I'm a Swiftie, don't get me wrong. I went to Japan to watch her concert pero something is missing in these songs.
Im a fan of her artistry pero Im honestly underwhelmed dito sa TTPD. I was expecting yung poems and lots of wordplays/metaphors/references kagaya sa Folklore and Evermore.

Same. 😭😭 pero hmm yeah nice naman yung iba. Not her best pero maganda talaga ibang song
good for u. iba lng tlga preference/opinion ko abt it
The recent 15 Anthology songs were very folklore/evermore-coded, in my opinion.
Ako naman I think mas finesse yung writing dito, pero mas toned down lahat…and thats why I liked it more kasi mas lowkey ang dating.
Andaming hint about marriage. Kaya ang theory ko talaga sa "Lavender Haze" nyang song is that hindi sya ang may gustong mag stay sa 'Lavender haze', kundi si Joe. Anyways, my fave track is DOWN BAD!!! "Fck it if I cant have us, Fck it if i canr have him" !!!!!!!!!

lollll I agree
"Touch me while your bros play Grand Theft Auto" lols
Tawang tawa ako sa line na yan hahaha
And 'tattooed Golden Retrievers'?? Charlie Puth???
Totoo, the lyrics are not hitting like usual.
I am expecting that she will go back to folk or country style music. I am expecting that this album will be a Bob Dylan inspired in terms of style or sound, but kinda disappointed it wasn't and still poppy. It was just midnights 2.
SAME EXACT TOTS!!! kinda disappointed din or baka dahil nagexpect ako masyado hehe
Same! folklore pa rin talaga
And I don't get the aesthetics either. If anything, I'd boldly call it a disgrace to real poets
Wait laaaaang. Nasa fortnight pa lang ako nagrerelapse na ko hahaha
Samedt. Nasa my boy only breaks his favorite toy (kasi pinapaulit ulit ko mga tracks HAHAHAH)
Same. Need ko maintindihan bago magmove on sa next song hahahaha
Some of it is disappointing, some I'm liking. A lot of it feels like old Taylor
i like it but i'm still waiting for spotify to provide the lyrics 😭
Same hahaha saw mostly mixed reviews about it so i’m downplaying my expectations😅

imo mas maganda pa yung extra songs sa anthology kaysa dun sa first 16 songs sa main album
She can do something good, but It seems like she wants easy money, bland comercial music with bland lyrics to appeal to tiktok. Could be wrong tho
This is why I agree sa nabasa ko somewhere sa Twitter -- that she's more of a businesswoman than an artist. Sad but true. And most Swifties won't even admit it.
Tambay ako ngayon sa Reddit to read comments like this. Ang dami ko kasing Swiftie IG friends praising her songwriting when it's often mediocre
Real. Someone really has to say this.
Ratty Healy naurrrr 😭😭😭😭
She did Joe dirty again…

Average delusional Swifties reply to someone when giving a good and honest critic review of taylor's works:
I bet you cry for every judgement you receive
Some of you might attack me for saying this, but yeah, *mediocre.* The story telling is good, ofc. but the musicality, typical na masyado. I was hoping for more. Para s'yang *Side B* ng *Midnights* talaga. Nonetheless, its good just wasn't good enough. Swifties please don't attack me.

TTPD has this 1989 vibe mixed with folklore’s brokenness and I’m loving it!
Nah not good
Underwhelming
Idk her albums feel rushed since midnights. More like she’s gunning for the Grammys. I could be wrong tho
how dare you think it's romantic leaving me safe and stranded?? 🤕🤕🤕
Cringey
Honestly, I'm starting to reevaluate myself as someone na sumusubaybay sa music niya. mid at best
disappointed huhuhu kasi akala ko magiging similar sya sa reputation huhu tatlo lang yata gusto ko out of the 31 song 😓
It just made me wonder, what caused their breakup Kaya?
Heto, nangungulila tuloy ako 🥲 nangungulila at this very hour. Pakingshet stomoyon nagtatrabaho ka pero ume-emote?
keri lang. mas okay kesa sa midnights pero hindi kasing ganda ng other albums niya. for sure aoty naman to
Binababad ko pa. 'Di siya instant "Wow ganda nito ah" ala Evermore or Folklore or 1989 for me. Hehe.
'Di naman ako na-overwhelmed, 'di rin under, whelmed lang.. Pero The Anthology talaga, I liked it better than the standard version.

Down Bad has been on repeat. I feel like it’s the next viral TikTok sound
I’ve never cried to any Taylor’s songs until I heard “The Manuscript.” So much feels and emotions.
Im already seeing lyrics parellelism between her previous songs and songs in this album, and I felt like this is unlearning what you have thought me vibes, unloving what I have learned to love because “You think it’s romantic to leave me stranded (down bad)” from her Leave me stranded, cause its romantic (New Romantics)…
seems like nag-rant at trauma dump siya sa lahat ng nangyari after her breakup with joe alwyn tbh
Sana mag rock siya next. It would really break the internet. Di ko feel itong new album niya and I'm a huge Swiftie. Siguro mataas lang talaga expectation ko sa album na ito.
I agree na mag-explore siya ng new genre. Music-wise halos same lang sa previous albums eh, lyrics-wise di ko pa nababasa lahat so no comment HAHAHA.
Mas okay pag may pinapakinggan with lyrics
I think most of us felt underwhelmed since we pre-saved this album way before the date of release. I agree with your point, that she should explore new genre. I don't know if it's just me, Fortnight is good, but I was really expecting more from Post Malone. Nonetheless, their first collab wasn't bad at all. I've been listening to him since 2018, and I'm so happy to hear both of these artist in one track.
True. Idk why yon napili niyang lead single sobrang boring. Sana I Can Do It With A Broken Heart nalang, sobrang bop niya.
I think TS needs a rest and break from music. The first 17 songs were meh. Medyo OA na siya and not in a good way. I'm a Swiftie, don't get me wrong. I went to Japan to watch her concert pero something is missing in these songs.
