Yes, the author kept going. The main story covers LN 1- 17, all following LN are titled "Spring Log". They set in after the first "Wolf and Parchment" LN. I do not want to spoil neither Spring Logs nor Wolf and Parchment, they take off where the main story ended - albeit a few years later. You should read each book, when you have time, of course ;-). If you like the main story, you will also love to read the Spring Logs and Wolf and Parchment. The Spring Logs and Wolf and Parchment books do not really interact with each other - you can read Wolf and Parchment without reading the spring logs. In Universe Lawrence and Holo receive letters, but do not seem to send any. They sometimes see the aftermath of WP's plot, but there is no direct interaction (yet). The author releases books of either series alternately, so that was the order I read them in. Also, see Bastard\_of\_Brunswicks comment. They are all translated, although translation takes a bit of time so the original language readers are usually a book ahead of the translation readers. Edit: added information

Is the series still going ?

The_Cheeseman83

Both series, “Spice and Wolf: Spring Log” and “Wolf and Parchment”, are still ongoing.

W&P certainly is. There is 9 out in september, and 10 is in the pipeline somewhere (published in Japanese, but no date on an English version) Spring Log hasn't had a new book in a while though...

Bastard_of_Brunswick

Spice and Wolf is up to volume 24 in English Wolf and Parchment us up to volume 8 in English read order is something like this: Spice and Wolf 1-18 (18 is Spring Log Part 1 of 7), then interchangeably with Wolf and Parchment 1 onwards SW19, WP2, SW20, WP3, SW21, WP4, SW22, WP5, SW23, WP6, SW24, WP7, WP8, WP9(September 17 in english), WP10 (unknown English release date, likely in 2025) [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List\_of\_Spice\_and\_Wolf\_light\_novels](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Spice_and_Wolf_light_novels)

To your read order it seems like you used the English release dates instead of the original release dates?

fiftysevenpunchkid

I don't know that read order makes any real difference. The interactions between the two are very slight, and while there are a few spoilers in spring logs as to what happens in W&P, they seem to be placed there by the author intentionally. If you want to read them in chronological order, you probably need to wait until a few more W&P's before getting far into Spring Logs. S&W 21 technically gives spoilers for W&P 7, and chronologically, they are about half a year ahead of W&P 8. Personally, it was that spoiler in S&W 21 that raised my interest in W&P, as I didn't think it sounded interesting from the blurb. I know that some held off on S&W 24 until after W&P 8, as that is the original published order, but S&W 24 (frustratingly, IMO) gives no spoilers as to what is happening with W&P If I was going to do a chronological order it would be closer to W&P 1, S&W 18, W&P 2-3, S&W 19-20, W&P 4-8 (9 and maybe 10 or further), then S&W 21-24. It will be interesting if the storylines ever converge.

It makes not major difference, but spotting the references/details/spoilers put into the volumes becomes more viable if you read them in release order. In-universe chronology is a bit troubled with those...
