Yeah, but can you say "Ryogoku Kokugikan Hall"?

acab420boi

I have heard English commentators say the first part 100s of times. I don't think I've ever heard anyone say the second part.

TXLucha012

Time for my favorite clip! https://www.reddit.com/r/SquaredCircle/s/j15RM4U4kq

Thank you. Very helpful.

Striking-Advisor-332

I can't even say that...

chilloutfam

for me, duolingo started me on the path. that app itself isn't going to teach you a language, but it got me started enough to realize that it is possible.

mushy_friend

Same, its the best way to dip your toes into the language without too much commitment, build a little bit of confidence where you can continue with more advanced stuff if you feel like it

If Mayu Iwatani has 100 skill points, she put just the bare minimum to stay alive in basic skills and then maxed out all her wrestling related skills.

I love this woman. She's so real. I try to learn a new language but that shit is hard.

JaricLefty

I feel her bruh i tried to learn Japanese to play Yakuza games better but the sentence structure weirds me out so I just gave up haha.

full_on_robot_chubby

I had a teacher one time just straight up say that the Japanese language program was funded by anime and video game fans. Needed a dozen level 1 classes, but only one of every other level. It's a hard language to learn, and sadly wanting to watch anime or play video games is rarely a good enough motivator.

mushy_friend

Yeah I'm contenting myself for now by just learning kanji/vocab from WaniKani. Don't think I'll ever get to actually learning the language because of the sentence structure lol

Crazy_Max_46

Good to see there are Japanese people who are just as lazy to learn English as I am Japanese.

DamieN62

She's lying, she can also say "Check it out"!

XyrneTheWarPig

I get through most of my conversations with grunts and head shakes, so she's doing better than me.

Smailien

Just "thank you" and "sorry" she says, forgetting her [mastery of the language.](https://twitter.com/ChameleonPw/status/1598430565899837457?s=19)
