Anderrrrr

Fuck no that's absolutely horrible.

pharmorjac

Thanks for everything!

/u/Kentucky210 You always treated me so kind, and when I was in the process of dedicating so much time to my girlfriend's kidney disease, you all on the Mod. team were very understanding, and compassionate. My favorite wrestling quote came from Scott Hall when he was getting inducted "Bad times don't last.. but bad guys do!" You got this! Take care of yourself bro.

Emotionless_AI

I am sending all my love to Ken who has been a very stable presence on the sub since I joined

The_Real_Irish

Ken is one of my oldest friends on Reddit, we started /r/nxtwrestling together 10 years ago (and never touched it again) and we began doing synctube streams were we met load more people so it's definitely argument that he was the catalyst to me meeting a tonne of people who I now consider IRL friends. When I became a mod here, I was immediately joined by him on the team and I couldn't ask for a better teammate. The fact he is still here, while I took off nearly 7 years ago (guessing there), shows how much hard work he puts in when it's to benefit others. Modding is absolutely no joke and is not a cakewalk. This is also shown by his work as a teacher, which is definitely one of the most selfless jobs you can do where the entire goal is the help people. The news of his medical difficulties hit me hard, because this is a guy who did nothing to deserve it, especially around the holidays. I'm so heart warmed that his GoFundMe has gotten a lot of support as it's definitely something he deserves. The guy put everyone else first and helped them, so it's definitely the time for us to help him.

Fidel_Costco

I'm not sure if Kentucky210 still lives in San Antonio, but if there's something I can do, I'm also in SA, and would happily help if I can. Get well soon, Kentucky.

Feel better Kentucky!

PatWasRight_F_CHUGS

Made a small donation and shared. Hope it gets momentum

P4NK-TP

Ken's just always been a sweet, kind, thoughtful guy, his nickname in mod chat for a while was Kawaii Ken for a reason. I remember for the mod secret santa a few years back I got a custom Kayla Braxton calendar (Have simped over her for years in discord) It was already a funny & thoughtful gift but Ken also snuck a photo of /u/Coldcoffees in there which made me burst out laughing opening it after a shitty work day A good man who genuinely deserves all the love and support he can get right now

CharityGamerAU

Sending healing, love, and positivity your way u/Kentucky210. My stroke was nowhere near as bad as yours (was only in hospital for 10 days) but I have complete and total empathy for you.  Fair to say that my enjoyment of pro wrestling wouldn't be the same as it is without your contributions. All the very best to you Happy to donate to you

Slyguy46

Ken is genuinely one of the nicest people I know, he’s been a great friend for years and I hope he gets better soon.

Perrydotto

I am only a casual reader here but I wish you the best of recovery, and I will share this around! Godspeed!

ackinsocraycray

Donated! Speedy recovery, Ken.

cbartholomew

Aye what the fuck - get better Kentucky - we gotchu.

kingjericho

I rarely post here but I'll happily help you. Good luck!

NotTrioButVeryDio

Damn, best of luck to him

Best wishes to him

PretendThisIsMyName

Sending my best wishes to the Tucky family. If there’s anything I can do design wise please let me know mods. Or whatever I can do. I’ll do it free of charge. Gonna drop a donation too. We’ve got to rally around each other and I hope there are people here who care about one another.

raisingfalcons

I dont know the guy, but I frequent the sub he mods so i dropped something. Hope he gets better.

relentlass

Haven't interacted with him directly, but I appreciate all he's done for this giant sub. Get well soon.

MclovinBuddha

Don’t have much, but I hope what I have helps

gloomchen

It will be great to have Ken back, and not just so he can go back to covering Collision, hah. He definitely brings a teacher's vibe to the mod team and advocates for the community. It's a bummer his students are losing out on having his passion around, too. I'm sure they're missing him (and his history memes) a lot. Ken's got a great medical team and amazing support at home. Even if you can't donate, your positive energy is appreciated as anyone who has had a loved one go through stroke recovery knows, it's ALL about optimism and looking forward. Thanks again for all the positive words. Hope to see you back soon, Ken!

wasperjack

Just dropped what I could. If it's still up in a couple weeks, I'll do it again.

[deleted]

Two strokes? Fuckin' Jarrett, man has no chill.

Dougfo

For the record, I think Ken would love this comment.

AKittyCat

Lmao Jesus Christ

AztecOmar

Awful news, here's hoping for a smooth and speedy recovery. To Ken: You've been as big a part as anyone else in making this my favourite corner of the internet for over a decade. Reading the comments here and at GoFundMe highlights how many people feel the same way. Hope my contribution helps to bring you a portion of the joy you've given me.

EBJ1990

Ge well soon!

cerebro_a

Speedy recovery, mate! We are pulling for you.

therealdanhill

Oh no, Ken is such a wonderful guy! I modded here with Ken back in the day and while it's unfortunate the horrible things people say about the team, he always took it in stride, I can attest that Ken (along with the rest of the team) really cares about this place and always has had a great attitude, he always took the time to help me learn the ropes and was always there for questions or just to chat. Ken if you read this I wish you the best man, and for everyone else please consider helping out Ken and his family!

beckett929

Oh this is awful news! I'll never forget him reaching him when I first joined this sub 8 or 9 years ago when he'd run the "30 ___ in 30 Days" series. Wonderful dude, and hope his recovery is as smooth as can be.

swaggamice

Donated, best of luck and please keep us updated.

LesnarsBattleScream

Bloody hell...Know the name and have had a few interaction..lovely guy. Will donate on pay day.

GingazInParis

Kentucky.. haven't talked to him in years since the Taima/WredditStreams days. He is for real one of the kindest people I can remember from this community from what I remember. Wishing you the best brotha, I'll be sending a donation soon.

Strike_Gently

Just want to pop in here and say that Ken is one of the funniest and most caring people I’ve ever met during my time online. Thank you to anyone that is able to help. Wishing him and his family nothing but the best.

Coldcoffees

I’ve known Ken for almost 10 years as part of the mod team. When I tell you this guy is the nicest, kindest, most wonderful person.. that doesn’t even do it justice. Without Ken, this community wouldn’t be the place it is today. Whether it be AMAs, competitions, discussion threads, pick’ems, Ken has been a pivotal part of this subreddit and a consistent part of the community for near 10 years. If you have used r/squaredcircle over the years and have enjoyed your time here, please do consider giving something towards his recovery. Nobody deserves it more. Thanks everyone, and get better soon brother, we miss you!

T3Deliciouz

A stroke at 30? Is that normal? That is messed up. Hope he can get better.

Illuminati_Shill_AMA

Had a teacher in high school who had had one at 5.

DozerOdie

My sister had a major one at 30. She had the trifecta that would cause them. Overweight, smoked, ate a lot of fast food. We figured it was that. She changed her lifestyle, but relapsed on smoking and had another minor one. Again, we figured it was the relapse. Then she fully quit, and had a third major one. Like, "she's in a coma, her brain won't stop swelling, do we pull the plug" major. This was all over the course of 6 months. Turns out she had a genetic disorder that just causes the blood to clump. Doubt her lifestyle was helping, but it very well could have happened regardless. These things just happen. Not saying Ken has that obv, just sharing my experience with young strokes. Anyway, she's doing ok now 8 years later. Needs full time care, but she still got her sense of humor and she's alive

The_Erlenmeyer_Flask

Glad your sister is still around.

BoxCon1

I’ve known a few people who had some at a young age Really makes me think more about about a healthier lifestyle

theirishembassy

honestly, it's roll of the dice. i had one when i was 22. drank occasionally and never to excess, gym 4 times a week, pescatarian, didn't smoke. i was making a pizza with my girlfriend and best friend and we were going to watch gran torino, next thing i know the right side of my body went paralyzed and i began slurring my speech. the only problem was the hospital refused to call it a stroke because, according to my doctor, "you're not in your sixties". now they're discovering that, although uncommon, people can have them under the age of 40. long story short; there's things you can do to prevent it, but sometimes shit just happens.

Jaereth

> long story short; there's things you can do to prevent it, What are these things?

theirishembassy

sorry, prevent wasn't the right word. "minimize the chances of them happening" would be better: https://health.gov/myhealthfinder/health-conditions/heart-health/reduce-your-risk-stroke

Jaereth

Ok. I'm good on all these factors. I figured it was just "be healthy". Wanted to know if there was some test or procedure I wasn't aware of to stay safe. Thanks.

Standingonachair

I know nothing about the guy here so this isn't a diagnosis for him but there are factors that increase risk. My friend died from one, he was massively overweight he knew it but he was an addict eating to soothe. A sedentary lifestyle was a huge factor and stress apparently too. So look after your body.

tmxicon

Strokes can happen at any age. Normal? No, it’s not really common, but it can happen.

LesnarsBattleScream

These things can happen at any age, sadly.

gloomchen

Super not normal. I've had friends in their 30s who had TIAs (mini-strokes) but Ken's was full-on, it's just crazy. He's making progress but still inpatient rehab.

MachoRandyManSavage_

Ken fucking rules. I've had many conversations with him about a wild amount of topics and I've always really enjoyed him as a person. The man lives and breathes wrestling. Wishing you the best, Ken.

deanopeez

Damn. A friend of mine just had a stroke and that shit is no joke. Money's tight right now but I dropped a few bucks. I hope y'all will do the same. There's enough of us here to really make a difference.

Suplewich

I seen him very often on here. It's awful to hear and I wish him the best. I'll share his GoFundMe.

hikingbeginner

That's awful man, hope he has a speedy recovery and gets back to feeling like himself.
