These decisions all kinda make sense. I’d hope the Grand Slam tickets are decently priced so they can at least mostly fill up the stadium, if they aren’t it’ll be harder to sell after such a big PPV hitting the same market three months earlier.
A bundle deal for both shows surely would be a good idea?
The thing is, the Arthur Ashe seemed like it would look really cool for wrestling, too. I only watched matches from the first year so I can’t speak for anything since, but from what I saw AEW’s lighting and/or setup really killed most if not all of the unique aesthetics.
Makes sense given the year-over-year declining ticket sales for Arthur Ashe. Cool venue when they can sell it out, but looked a little weird with the stage pushed so far forward that it engulfed half of the arena.
That aside, this looks like a really cool venue for a wrestling show.
They should really go nuts and have it at Louis Armstrong Airport in New Orleans instead. Baggage Claim Deathmatch, Cab Line Stampede, things of this nature.
So they downsized but only to a slightly smaller stadium. Mate, you didn't sell remotely enough at Arthur Ashe the last time, and Queens isn't exactly a ghost town with trains that are hard to use.

Zarian has been teasing these scoops for weeks and just emptied the clip.
seemingly too soon lol
His trigger finger was itching, got a lil overzealous
Everyone desk pops eventually...

Grand slam this year was so fucking expensive, I hope they keep price reasonable.
A ppv hitting the same market three months before? What are you talking about
Zarian confirmed Forbidden Door for Arthur Ashe in June about 20 minutes before this news.
Ohh shit my bad I ain’t been keepin up with the news Td literally just logged in
Just to be clear he’s now said he’s taking back the Grand Slam announcement so only Forbidden Door is firm of the two announcements
That's actually a really cool looking stadium - I'm always a fan of unique stadium arrangements being used for wrestling shows

Roughly 10k less than Arthur Ashe but it still looks amazing.
It’s looking like Forbidden Door will be at Arthur Ashe

apparently it's related to Forbidden Door allegedly being held at Arthur Ashe in June
Ooh that would be a good enough show for AA.
Ah, so it's like when people say they are performing at MSG, but it's actually the Hulu Theater UNDER MSG.
They should really go nuts and have it at Louis Armstrong Airport in New Orleans instead. Baggage Claim Deathmatch, Cab Line Stampede, things of this nature.

They’re running Arthur Ashe for Forbidden Door and he already deleted this tweet saying things are still being updated.
You haven’t been keeping up on the news today, huh
They're going to NYC twice after failing at the same stadium already? New events guy cared less than the old one
They really should have checked in with people online that behave like AEW existing ruined their lives, rookie mistake
..you do know how easily they’ve sold out both Forbidden Doors, right?
