Rewatching presumably Owens maybe held on to Theory a bit longer than he thought with the stunner so he couldn't get the jump timing right? Only reason I can think of for it

So noticeable it really ruined the entire thing for me. It didn’t even look like a sell into a cutter. It looked like he took a stunner, looked at Orton and then jumped into his cutter.

Absolutely it was so goofy. Theory is very athletic but he got a bit too lost in the sauce this time around. In trying to jump high for the RKO he totally no sold the stunner.

I feel like they've forced it so much now... It's no longer "out of nowhere" because you can always almost tell when they're setting it up now. Someone goes for a springboard in the climactic moments of a match? Probably an RKO. Someone does a wake-up taunt before running to hit a move? Probably an RKO spot. If someone has any sort of finisher or main move with any sort of wind up? Probably going to get spun into or jump into an RKO. For me personally the holy shit "out of nowhere" moments only really work as much if they aren't done every single week. Like HBK's superkick which seriously was just often completely out of nowhere and surprising, they never made it into such a big thing as to where fans were always anticipating it, or where the "unpredictable" became predictable because matches/moments are specifically forcing in a surprise RKO. That's why apart from the Rollins one, I think pretty much all my favourite RKO's come from before the "out of nowhere" tagline. Even Bourne, Carlito, reversing Undertaker's chokeslam etc.

I loved HBK's outta nowhere Sweet Chin Music. Oh, he's only 5 inches away from his opponent, he'll never hit it from there. *hits it* How the fuck?

No, he fucked it up. Watch how Scott Hall took the stunner (staying on his feet and jumping back in one smooth motion) If Theory did that and twisted in the air it would’ve been fine, but he paused before jumping for too long and it looked like shit.

This is the net result of every aew post complaining about something looking janky getting so much engagement. This sub has devolved into a circlejerk of "does it look 100% realistic??". Yeah. When that guy took the FamASSer and bumped out of the ring a couple weeks ago, there was a bit of a meltdown. (I thought it was hilarious) This would have been good but they had a timing or maybe and angle issue and it looked bad. But honestly no big deal. Wrestling is supposed to be fun and silly and entertaining and if executed right that would be entertaining.
