Funniest thing to me is when [WWE legit made a video on their YouTube channel](https://youtu.be/HEMNCra2SKs) complaining about how dead the crowd was in Lafayette.
With Pat McAfee narrating it! I had no idea his employment went back to Feb of 2019. Maybe because I never paid attention to preshows lol.
Weirdest Raw I prob ever watched, not including the COVID/Thunderdome ones. Cold as hell NXT call ups and the crowd not reacting to anything. Like not even faint cheers. Just full on dead silence.
Bad thing about Lafayette is the CajunDome acoustics are terrible. It’s a very spacious arena that isn’t exactly a big arena.
I’ve been to multiple WWE shows there and some basketball games. In person the crowds aren’t bad but rewatching on tv sounds beyond dead.
I do remember Cody getting a big pop on Raw in Lafayette shortly after his debut.
Yeah, as an American Wrestling fan I have to say that we have to do better. These international crowds are putting us to shame. It's why I made it a goal to a international wrestling event this year. I wanted to go to this one but couldn't make it work money wise so I'm going to All In come August.
It's scarcity imo. Living in America I know if I miss a show next month it'll come back around. The international shows have no idea when or even if they'll ever get another event so the most passionate fans are the ones who make those shows.
True but if you see European events that aren't scarce in France like football and rugby you'll see they are also much louder than US crowd sports. Look at borussia dortmund matches or Liverpool ones then look at a baseball match it sounds like a library
Football is a whole different beast in Europe so you're not wrong. I'd tell you to attend a couple big American college football games and it's a whole different experience as well. Any game with natural stops in the action is going to come across different than a game that keeps moving. And I lived in the UK for 3 years so I've been to several EPL and Championship league matches.
Not really no.
Watch EuroLeague or any Football comp in Europe. Their fans put Americans to shame.
Hell they put us Aussies to shame and we get louder then Americans.
I've been to a few EuroLeague games, it's an atmosphere unlike any other.
I was speaking about wrestling, which isn't the most popular sport in either America or Europe. I was at Tottenham earlier this season when they played Liverpool and VAR fucked up. So I'm well aware. Football is different from anything else for many reasons. Come to some of these American college football games and the atmosphere is there. I imagine you'll push back on that but it is what it is.
The US fans are just over saturated with content. International crowds get maybe one such show once a year (or maybe once every 10 years) so when they do get it the crowds are full of hardcore fans hungry for live wrestling.
So it’s natural for them to be way more excited.
Honest question, have you ever seen the crowd at a Bundesliga or a Ligue 1 game? They are weekly, and sometimes midweek as well. The one thing that is constant is the crowd's enthusiasm.
But you go to PSG vs some relegation level French team, or Dortmund vs a second division team and it blows them out of the water. That's the default setting
I think if WWE splits the touring 50/50 between US and the rest of the world they’d do pretty well in terms of hot crowds. A nice way to keep fans hungry.
Its cultural, americans will never understand what fan culture is like in Europe.
American basketball has the board tell fans what to chant and its usually some lame shit like "defence defence"
[Meanwhile in random greek basketball](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZZYj1r8dks8)
there are a million such cases
I don’t understand how European crowds just naturally do this while American crowds feel so disconnected. In the premier league English fans can start a new chant out of thin air seemingly but here in America theres no such thing and I don’t know why
It’s crazy how him and Jimmy seemed interchangeable before and now they both have such distinct characters, and Jey really has become Maine Event Jey USO.
Because he went through real hardship and character growth before becoming main event Jey. He was beaten and blackmailed into submission by his evil cousin and developed stockholm syndrome, becoming the bedrock of Roman's power. Then, he organically grew a friendship with uber-babyface Sami and finally broke free from the Bloodline. It's one of the deepest character arcs in current WWE and we've seen it all play out right on television.
It was weird how many here seemed to think that Jey shouldn't be in a main event just because his Wrestlemania match didn't work. This video is why he's in a World title match tomorrow.
I think he did like a dropkick/superkick amalgamation when he first came to raw like once and never brought it back, would've been cool as his new finisher
Honestly, we all know he's going to get sucked right back into the Bloodline storyline so put the WHC Title on him for a few months, hell CM Punk and Drew don't even need the title at this point. Their feud sells itself without the title, so let Jey run things with the WHC until SummerSlam before he gets brought back into the Bloodline storyline.
Thats what i also think. Why put the title on the line for Drew vs Punk? If anything, the eventual match between finn balor and damian priest needs the title more. Drew and punk are already cooking a main event level rivalry. Not every marquee match needs a title.
Yup. I don’t agree with Jey winning like the other comment said but Balor vs Priest should 100% be the title feud.
Cause that’s the whole point of the feud. They only ever had issues cause of the title, and now are starting to have issues again cause of the title. Take away the title and then I go well what’s the point of the feud then? Should’ve just drafted Finn to Smackdown in that case instead of wasting our time.
But everyone seems to want Punk vs Drew for the title. They’re already feuding, and the feud is going on. Inserting the title is just inserting it to do it.
And I’m just not getting why Punk needs to be fighting for the title.
I only want Balor and Priest to feud if Balor wins the title, loses it back to Priest, and then they call a truce when Rhea returns and stay together as the Judgement Day.
This will present them as equals while keeping the group together with a slight change in dynamic. I don’t want the Judgement Day to break up.
That’s definitely not happening though. Triple H has made it clear he views Finn multiple pegs below Rhea.
And views Finn WAY below Priest.
Finn will never again be treated as an equal to either of them as long as they exist in the group. Finn’s only way of being saved is separation from Priest. And ousting Priest seems to be the direction. The Rhea thing doesn’t matter as much cause she’s in a different division but same applies there.
There needs to be a change. Finn has suffered enough and had enough of his credibility harmed.
Except this plan does nothing for Priest, who they’re building up as a main eventer. Jey doesn’t need the belt because he’s so over it doesn’t matter, so let Priest slowly gain credibility with a string of solid defences and make a new star BEFORE he drops it to someone (Drew at Clash, probably).
Awesome, being in an excited crowd is the best. I always find it fascinating when there are dead crowds. I’ve been to shows that would have been boring on TV but being there live is just fun.
And it’s not because they don’t go abroad often, just compare NBA games to basketball games in Europe or compare NFL games to European football matches, the difference is night and day.
Why didn't they show this match on TV instead of making it a dark match? They could have cut out something like AOP vs new Catch Republic, the audience didn't seem to care that much about the match, and the French don't seem to fond of seeing an English tag team. Neither team is on Backlash, and both teams are really just jobber teams.
This man was locked in in his twin tag team for years and it was unthinkable that they could turn into great single wrestlers. Now, the night before his world title match, he gets such a crowd reaction. Respect, Jey Uso. That was a brave path to take and he couldn't have done it any better.

You don't realize how quiet some crowds can be until you see an absolutely awesome crowd
If Vince were still in charge, tonight's Smackdown would be in Corpus Cristi.

This but the last two times they came to the Cajundome the crowd was on another level (the one after the Usos turned on Roman was amazing)
Galveston with that dirty ass water
San Antoniow with them big ole women
woofin down them churros!
Wearin' those bloomers!
Hey now, RAW on June 17th WILL be in Corpitos. I told my dad to go since I'll be at the one in Indianapolis the week after.

EuroLeague Basketball as well.

Yeah I was just about to say this people acting like they go to France two, three times a year
^^^THIS^^^ Though for me, a good crowd also has good signs. So sometimes I'll forgive not as loud crowds if they have good signs
Come to Canada for MITB
Thought about it, but I went to Toronto last year. Definitely will be at the next PLE in Montreal though.
You could hear a pin drop in Winnipeg on Wednesday

It's like with bands. No idea when we might see em again so have to make it worth it.
That is absolutely unreal. International crowds are the best.
There's no shortage of how many fire crowds there'll be if WWE has more televised shows across Europe
If WWE toured Europe as much as it toured the U.S., the crowds would eventually be the same. It's more special because it's more rare.
European crowds are excited at futbol games every single year.
Honest question, have you ever seen the crowd at a Bundesliga or a Ligue 1 game? They are weekly, and sometimes midweek as well. The one thing that is constant is the crowd's enthusiasm.
Nah, European crowds are just another breed.
Watching the NFL games in Germany, is quite the experience. Zero ties to either team and it feels like a massive outdoor party is happening.
It’s the same in the US any time a friendly EPL or Liga MX game is in a big American city.
But you go to PSG vs some relegation level French team, or Dortmund vs a second division team and it blows them out of the water. That's the default setting
Lemme just introduce you to college football in the Midwest and the South...
I've heard football crowd hyped af in their 30th loss of the season

One of the wildest things the Bloodline story did was turn Jey into a legitimate babyface singles star
It’s crazy how him and Jimmy seemed interchangeable before and now they both have such distinct characters, and Jey really has become Maine Event Jey USO.
understandable typo, but jey pumping up the crowd with giant lobster claws on his hands would be lit!
And make Sami the biggest name in wrestling for a couple of months.
[удалено]
Charisma. He kinda has that Jeff Hardy thing going right now. Cool style and charisma.
This is flipping nuts The crowd absolutely loves Jey
Two years in a row Backlash might have the best crowds of the year. France looks like it could be special like Puerto Rico was
Next year’s Backlash better be an international show to keep the trend alive.
They always do a eu tour after wrestlemania anyways dont they, be sick if it was always capped by a ple
Backlash Italia, Bologna was hot if the clip from a few days ago is to be believed
The one thing going against it is they don't have a homework hero to go molten over. Bunny at backlash was just on another level
![gif](giphy|cMJiusBHszeE7V7Sp6)
send corbin out there we claim him as one of our own
There was A SHIT TON of Yeet shirts in the crowd, yeah he's definitely a draw here. But not as much as Baron Corbin though
Jey and Corbin winning the tag titles in France would make the building explode
It was weird how many here seemed to think that Jey shouldn't be in a main event just because his Wrestlemania match didn't work. This video is why he's in a World title match tomorrow.
Oh yeah, they definitely need to go to France more often.
HHH - If France has a good crowd, we might do a bigger show in the future France - iight bet
Tbh all he needs is a legit solo finisher and he’s a top guy, 4 years ago who woulda thought?
His breakout as a solo star is on par with Scott Steiner imo
I think he did like a dropkick/superkick amalgamation when he first came to raw like once and never brought it back, would've been cool as his new finisher
What an insane crowd. I love it.
Alright, time to sell off the lot in Stamford. We moving to Europe baby.
They're YEETIN ALL OVER the place!!!
they should put him in the main event and get the title - i swear you'll hear us from the other side of the Atlantic
Honestly, we all know he's going to get sucked right back into the Bloodline storyline so put the WHC Title on him for a few months, hell CM Punk and Drew don't even need the title at this point. Holy fuck!
Holy shit. I thought the London MITB were electric. This is more amazingly mental
Holy fuck, this is insane
If you could bottle and sell the feeling jey has in that moment, you’d be the richest person alive.
That's some incredible yeetin'.
Awesome, being in an excited crowd is the best. I always find it fascinating when there are dead crowds. I’ve been to shows that would have been boring on TV but being there live is just fun.
I think Main Event Jey Uso might be over.
Holy fuck now that's a party
International crowds forever putting American crowds to shame.
That made the stands at Wrestlemania litterally shake.
Reminds me of the Yes Movement
Wish I was there.
Looks like straight out of the 2K games
Bloodline storyline: Just Thanks
US crowds once again get embarrassed, how did an industry reliant on crowd work become primarily known in a place where the crowds are mid?
And it’s not because they don’t go abroad often, just compare NBA games to basketball games in Europe or compare NFL games to European football matches, the difference is night and day.
Fin balor entry and daniiel bryan entry vibes
Why didn't they show this match on TV instead of making it a dark match? its looks like giga wrestlemania over there
I can't believe they managed to even get "IT'S JUST ME UCE" over
C'est juste lui Uce . https://preview.redd.it/mnj5rgphaeyc1.png?width=1440&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3805e2a571250b8c6f11c93233ababf68074693f

Heyman was so right during his HoF speech, the amount of New main event stars being made by WWE now under Hhh is insane
Wow they really love Jey
I am glad he's over. But why he's so over?
If only he didn’t have such a generational stinker at WM. Dude is just a theme song, a catchphrase & a super kick.
homie recording but still participating with his phone down caught my eye lmao. looking like the wrong kind of salute
Such a cool atmosphere. I’m not the biggest fan of current Jey Uso. But I love seeing someone this over and I’m happy for him.
