Insane match. I loved the final countdown bit. It was kind of hard to focus on the match after watching a man get lit on fire, but I'm relieved Perry seems relatively okay.
You could see he was fully covered in some sort of substance, presumably the same one they use for stunts in movies when someone it set on fire. For what it’s worth they prepared well for it, as you could see them holding the fire extinguishers to the left of the left entranceway for quite a while waiting
I felt they handled it perfectly. As soon as the spot happened, the match was over for perry, and full medical attention was on him in case it went wrong
This was absolutely done as safely as possible considering the unpredictability of fire. There have been bad fire spots in wrestling, mostly in XPW, but this wasn't it.
The booking meeting on this one:
Okada: I want to do a thumbtack Rainmaker.
Bucks: OK.
Perry: I'll do a fire spot, but I want to make the pin.
Bucks: Sure.
Darby: I was thinking of being murdered, then strung up like a dead animal.
Bucks: ....
FTR: ....
Danielson: ....
For the Anarchy in the Arena matches it seems like they’re more concerned with the big shock and awe spots rather than the pacing and storytelling, so everything seems so disjointed. They need to focus on the actual flow of the match rather than going from spot to spot to spot
insane fucking main event. It probably needs to be rewatched in full to be fully appreciated considering all they did in that one.
and pretty good show overall.
They never really said anything honestly. They spent the time cleaning up and closing their registers. When it was over, I thanked the guy closing the till in front of me (who I think was one of the managers) and left.
It is more sports like in its presentation compared to wwe, with the rankings and the way the show feels like coverage of a live event instead of a tv show with a live audience. plus they still have the ridiculous stuff I love in pro wrestling, a good balance IMO
Then maybe he shouldn’t have made that statement??? I don’t think I’m wrong either since he did falsely advertise. If he said this was gonna be indie wrestling with a budget then I’d completely understand and be fine with it but that’s not what was said.
Normally the person taking the pin looks weak, so this complaint would make sense in theory.
However in this case Danielson took the pin, because the rest of his team was down. This actually makes him look the strongest.
Lots of people that are here just to complain.
You look at their histories and it’s literally nothing but complaints. I saw 2 people tonight that did nothing but talk shit but they were commenting in an NBA live thread at the same time.
In a chaotic match like this full of weapons, shenanigans, exploding chairs, thumb tack shoes, someone getting lit on fire, and someone getting hit by a bus....does it really matter who takes the pin?
That last match was fucking insane. It might be the polarizing match of all time cause I don’t even know if you can call it wrestling but I was just in awe holy fuck
God that was so stupid and fun. I just wish they'd had Final Countdown going the entire time. I love the shitshow that is Anarchy in the Arena.
But I think after this, we need to dial it back. Not in intensity, just in frequency. Don't do them once a year, save them for really special occasions. Don't want it to become Hell in a Cell.
If you would've told me 5 years ago jungle boy would've been lit on fire and gotten the pinfall as a giant heel I wouldn't have believed you.
If you would've told me anything that happened to Darby... I probably would.
There was an old Vice documentary that Darby was in and during an EVOLVE match with Ethan Page, he gets hit with a fucking shovel which tears his arm up but he still finished the match. This is not surprising especially considering the medical crew at AEW is much larger and more prepared than at an indie show.
got home late, really enjoyed the final countdown brawl, then they cut the music & I kept watching, thinking swerve was next. it went on & on. so I looked it up, swerve already wrestled. fuck
Honestly.
The Elite needed to win here to solidify them as literal threats in matches.
That being said, don't think Danielson needed to be pinned. FTR could've been stacked up for this one.
Danielson or Darby are the only ones thet make sense. Neither matter in thst sense. Ftr and the bucks have too much history to eat the pin even from a teammate
I agree, I felt like they rushed this feud so fast and it felt put together…I was afraid it was gonna be something like Team Cena vs Nexus where the faces win…no this story needs to have the elite as well, being the elite.
Because he takes pins all the time, because he can afford to and it won’t hurt him at all, because it’s his last few months full time, because it helps Jack Perry.
Not that you wouldn’t have complained if literally anyone else took the pin, anyway.
I don't hate the idea of Perry getting the pinfall, but if you've been set on fire after just emerging from a car crash in a span of 20 minutes, you should probably not be the guy going over.

turns out danielson was right to ignore darby's dead body. darby's dead. there's nothing you can do. worrying about him will only cost you the match. win it in his memory instead.
tk too injured from being dragged down the ramp to do the media scrum
MEDIA SCRUM HAS STARTED
Okada’s first ever street fight-esque match has someone getting torched. I’mma have to sit down and think about that.
I feel like I need a cigarette at the end of every Anarchy in the Arena match and I don’t even smoke.
Really hope FTR keeps the tights. Looked badass on them. It really looks like Dax wears diapers underneath his trunks, and I can't unsee it.
I know Eddie Kingston is pissed he couldn't set anyone on fire last time
Given they paid off the flamethrower I think that match going on last earned its place.
Insane match. I loved the final countdown bit. It was kind of hard to focus on the match after watching a man get lit on fire, but I'm relieved Perry seems relatively okay.

For what it’s worth they prepared well for it, as you could see them holding the fire extinguishers to the left of the left entranceway for quite a while waiting
I figured this much, but it was still fire, and something could always go wrong, so I'm glad it didn't.
Every question at the media scrum needs to be, “Yo, what the fuck was that shit with the fire?!?”
Oooh media scrum!
Final Countdown cost TK $5k. Worth it
The booking meeting on this one: Okada: I want to do a thumbtack Rainmaker. Bucks: OK. Perry: I'll do a fire spot, but I want to make the pin. Bucks: Sure. Darby: I was thinking of being murdered, then strung up like a dead animal. Bucks: .... FTR: .... Danielson: ....

Yes. Hence **Anarchy -** *a lack of organization and control*
Then it wouldn't be anarchy would it?
insane fucking main event. It probably needs to be rewatched in full to be fully appreciated considering all they did in that one. and pretty good show overall.
Taz singing themes is back!
Remix Jones!
All that is what I watch this company for if ratings don’t improve shiii guess I gotta buy more televisions
Dave and Busters let us stay til the end!
What was the reaction at D&B?
They never really said anything honestly. They spent the time cleaning up and closing their registers. When it was over, I thanked the guy closing the till in front of me (who I think was one of the managers) and left.
Dave and Bus-ters! Clap clap clap clap clap
I’m happy for you. I saw someone (maybe you) say something about getting kicked out at midnight, earlier.
by AEW ppv standards that was a weaker show, meaning it was still a very good show that i enjoyed a lot
Damn no Hangman. Hope his personal stuff isn't still bad
I’m worried too, he had that brief stint back and was suddenly gone again. I know it’s none of our business, but I hope he’s okay.
Well that was fuckin crazy
A-E-DUB A-E-DUB A-E-DUB
ngl would've been cool if Jack had still been on fire when he pinned Bryan
Personally, I'd have put the Anarchy match 1st, then Willow/Mone & Swerve/Cage last. Anarchy was kinda fun, but too bonkers for my liking.
Tony told us 5 years ago that we were getting sports based wrestling. I don’t think this even resembled a wrestling match.
It is more sports like in its presentation compared to wwe, with the rankings and the way the show feels like coverage of a live event instead of a tv show with a live audience. plus they still have the ridiculous stuff I love in pro wrestling, a good balance IMO
Right But the wrestling doesn’t correlate. It’s too gimmicky and too ridiculous to be a sports based product. The segments are also too cartoony
That’s sports based enough for me. I watched a bit of bloodsport where they were doing a very realistic mma like style, didn’t like it that much
1) People can be wrong. 2) you can be wrong
Then maybe he shouldn’t have made that statement??? I don’t think I’m wrong either since he did falsely advertise. If he said this was gonna be indie wrestling with a budget then I’d completely understand and be fine with it but that’s not what was said.
He said that 5 years ago. They tried and they pivoted. Can't blame em
Can't believe we had that insane and entertaining match and there are people just whining that Danielson took the pin.
Normally the person taking the pin looks weak, so this complaint would make sense in theory. However in this case Danielson took the pin, because the rest of his team was down. This actually makes him look the strongest.
You know how these people start bitching and moaning, and bitching, and bitching, and bitching….
Lots of people that are here just to complain. You look at their histories and it’s literally nothing but complaints. I saw 2 people tonight that did nothing but talk shit but they were commenting in an NBA live thread at the same time.
Probably should have been FTR taking the pin
In a chaotic match like this full of weapons, shenanigans, exploding chairs, thumb tack shoes, someone getting lit on fire, and someone getting hit by a bus....does it really matter who takes the pin?
That last match was fucking insane. It might be the polarizing match of all time cause I don’t even know if you can call it wrestling but I was just in awe holy fuck
Is there a media scrum tonight?
Looks like it on youtube at least
"Tony, did you feel in fear for your life when Jack Perry grabbed you and pulled you into the arena?"
Hard to have a media scrum when everyone is dead
Holy fuck what a damn PPV
God that was so stupid and fun. I just wish they'd had Final Countdown going the entire time. I love the shitshow that is Anarchy in the Arena. But I think after this, we need to dial it back. Not in intensity, just in frequency. Don't do them once a year, save them for really special occasions. Don't want it to become Hell in a Cell.
there's no media scrum scheduled on AEW's YT so i am upset
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=98itz3p2qKQ
oh thank god. i was worried i wouldn't get to see toni storm in character dare anyone to ask her a real questionn
Best anarchy in the arena ever. Going to be hard to top
cinema 🚬
Well not soo bad for a t-shirt company mfers gotta eat a Monday night raw after this one lmao
now imagine some of you had your way and swerve/christian tried to follow that. imagine what that looks like.
If you would've told me 5 years ago jungle boy would've been lit on fire and gotten the pinfall as a giant heel I wouldn't have believed you. If you would've told me anything that happened to Darby... I probably would.

I wonder if there was real fire…
I feel like I'm watching content fornfuture episodes of Dark Side of the Ring in real time
That was insane. Just absolute chaos. That was probably my favorite AITA match
Anarchy in the Arena is insane.
[удалено]
do you work for tbs? why the fuck do you care
MJF will draw
But at least it will get 10 stars tho😂🤷🏾♂️
You need to find better things to do with your time than comment in the live thread of something you dislike so much.
Didn’t know that you was a mod. I can comment wherever and however I please
There were like... 4 matches that deserved to be the main event instead of this one, ngl.
got home late, really enjoyed the final countdown brawl, then they cut the music & I kept watching, thinking swerve was next. it went on & on. so I looked it up, swerve already wrestled. fuck
I dunno Excalibur. Maybe don't stop, but slow down?
That show was insane. I wish the finish was more exciting but the rest of the match was a hoot
That was really fun all around. What a fucking great PPV. Thank you AEW. I'm sports entertained.
Fucking hell, this is the AEW I love
Out of the anarchy in the arenas that was probably the weakest But still fun, Rest of the card was better, but enjoyable
MJF’s tattoo artist was also betting on themself.
They should have folded
Holy fuck I need a smoke
Same.
that was fucking fire man
Hell of a show!! It's daylight outside now lol
Okada is good at tying knots
That wasn’t for me. But glad you guys enjoyed.
F*** JACK PERRY
I'm just gonna assume that was *real* fire.
Jack Perry honing in on and grabbing Tony Khan from the production table got a belly laugh out of me.
It turns out that the funniest Nicholas is Happy Victorious Nicholas
That match and shoe delivered.
So Jack Perry’s spots were basically to run over Darby, catch fire, then get the pin
That was madness and I loved it
Idc I've loved Perry since he came back. His size will still hinder him but he's executed the role really well
Glad that ended before somebody died
Honestly. The Elite needed to win here to solidify them as literal threats in matches. That being said, don't think Danielson needed to be pinned. FTR could've been stacked up for this one.

Nah, pinning Danielson lends more cred to Perry. And it can be used to further Danielson's farewell tour.
Nah, Danielson takes all kinds of pins, it’s his last year, and it helps Jack. I think it was the right call.
FTR cannot take anymore losses. Darby got hit by a fucking bus lol he should've taken the pin.
Jack Perry deserves that pin for agreeing to get set on fire lol
[удалено]
Where?
we really take darby for granted
Best AEW PPV ever. Can’t believe I’m saying that but it’s true.
Quote the ScapeGOAT, nevermore
why did DB take the pin SMH
Because he takes pins all the time, because he can afford to and it won’t hurt him at all, because it’s his last few months full time, because it helps Jack Perry. Not that you wouldn’t have complained if literally anyone else took the pin, anyway.
Cus he’s immune to damage from pins at this point
Jack looks like Nick and Matt fused
I don't hate the idea of Perry getting the pinfall, but if you've been set on fire after just emerging from a car crash in a span of 20 minutes, you should probably not be the guy going over.
It’s best for the story tho
Sure, if you're trying to build Jack to be a relentless maniac who does whatever it takes like Darby. Maybe that's the story though
That was a wild match idk how they keep coming up with new spots for these
Wait until next year when it somehow gets even crazier lol
Real flames. Cry me a river.
WE DID IT!!!!!!!
JACKASS PERRY IS A FUCKING SCRUB
Well, tonight was a lot of things, but it sure as shit wasn't boring.
How do you take a kick to the face with those and not lose an eye
I mean great match, but fuck dude that just had me conceded for Darby’s genuine safety at the end and didn’t even care about the match
Yeah the hanging upside down for so long was a bit much.
This persona has done wonders for Jack Perry.
The Scapegoat Once again... came back from hell fire and won the match against the man who survived Satnem Singh
Thank you Tony!!! Thank you AEW
[удалено]
No. It was fucking awesome.
It was me
Only thing this match was missing was someone getting stabbed with a trident
Next time
"Jack killed a guy" "Yeah there were busses and a man on fire and I stabbed a guy in the heart with a trident"
By the way, Jack Perry may want to lay low for a while
The Bucks should lay low for awhile
Well that was unbelievably awesome and gotta be the best AEW PPV of the year at this point
idk Dynasty was fucking lit
It was, but I really can't recall anything as wild as what I just witnessed.
They’re doing a hell of a job with Jack Perry
kenny and hangman are the only ones who can save us
Utterly fantastic and insane
When Paul Heyman said that ECW isn’t dead, it’s still among us. This is what he fucking meant.
DARBY MOVED
Real blood, cry me a river.
I see why this went last now
What are you doing? Darby: Me? Nothing…just hanging around
https://preview.redd.it/l0qokiedew2d1.jpeg?width=244&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5ef61f99f1eea822a632f6517d0d79d552956756
I think this was the best anarchy match??
what happened to Tony Khan?
I’d imagine he ran off when Darby started shooting flames his direction lol
Died on his way back to his home planet. Bit of shame if you ask me
Through hellfire and brimstone it's Jack Perry
Only Sting can save Darby
PPV of the month
I can’t believe what I just watched, 7 star match I’ve never been more entertained wtf
AEW PPVs remain unmatched
Okay match over now get Darby down!
Busaiku knee with the fireproof pants!!
Crowd was part of the finish.
Perry just pinned Danielson.. wild
Bryan reaching for Darby is a small thing he does that makes him great
That was just nuts. Lived up to the name of Anarchy In The Arena for sure.
Ok we need the Bucks running the presser please!!!!
Good news, Darby Allin is somehow not dead.
plucky consider aware rainstorm chop mountainous price disgusted lock treatment *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
Happy Memorial Day, and happy 5 year anniversary, everybody.
Danielson is allergic to agreeing to win big matches
That show was worth UFC PPV prices!
Yes ok but please get Darby down
Why do I feel so uncomfortable after that
10/10. Best Anarchy In Arena since the first.
the Elite beat team ex WWE. Maybe MJF and Juice can save us
[удалено]
Wait MJF? You mean the WWE Security Guy who escorted Samoa Joe? Oh man, this guy is gonna have a rude awakening.
8.5/10 show
In real life i feel all these men would be going to prison for a long time
That was just practice for Everest
Awful lol
I mean, it was entertaining, that is for sure lol
That was the most destructive match I have ever seen. Holy fuck
turns out danielson was right to ignore darby's dead body. darby's dead. there's nothing you can do. worrying about him will only cost you the match. win it in his memory instead.
