And it feels like Ricochet wants to bet on himself elsewhere as he's clearly not moving any higher up the card than he is right now.
I enjoyed him in LU(though his matches were always beat downs until he got his shit in and won). I think he could do well in AEW but he still lacks any promo ability after years, that will always limit him especially in AEW where promos aren't generally scripted.
That said, put him in the DC family or even better have Stokely manage him and he'll do just fine.
Typically they continue to book someone who’s leaving in hopes of getting them to re-sign. For them to be writing him out this quickly, I’m guessing Ricochet must’ve made it very clear that his decision is final and nothing will change his mind.

Hell, they were setting up a Ricochet heel turn judging from the last few weeks. It makes you wonder if all those thinly veiled Osprey comments(and a couple others, but his were the main ones) about "trying to get him out" and what not made him change his mind about staying cause this is a very sudden change from what they were building(which at the very least should have been a triple threat at Clash, now it seems he won't even stick around for that)

At this point I can't blame him for taking an easier schedule and better money. there are only so many years he has and spinnig his tires in WWE and the being 40 with his style doesn't make the most sense.

I wouldn’t be surprised if he actually wants to wrestle more, he has a schedule. He’s only wrestled 28 times this year that’s barely one match a week. Everyone in WWE has a light schedule at this point because they don’t really do house shows anymore. there’s only like four or 5/2 shows each month and someone like ricochet isn’t gonna make those
I don’t think Ricochet has the charisma to be world champion level in AEW, but he’s good enough in ring to hold any other title and get a big push. He will get to have long competitive matches and I wonder if that is appealing to him?
So is he gonna get a "moment"? Any kind of subtle acknowledgement or is he gonna get his brains beat in and carted off? I would think, if they're not gonna acknowledge it, just tell him to stay home and let somebody else get theTV time.
Gonna miss seeing Ricochet in WWE, he was always a highlight.
Also wish he achieved a bit more. If only he was a better promo, although I think he was definitely improving. I know reddit likes to point at the promo with Drew for killing his credibility with the audience but that's such a cop out. Outside of reddit I've literally never heard anyone bring it up, because the casual audience doesn't give a shit about one bad promo and they much less remember it years later. Only reason I remember that promo is because someone on here is bound to bring it up every time Ricochet is discussed.
