WWE will likely be anticipating Chicago will be a hell of a better crowd for Punk/Drew than Corpus Christi You can easily have Punk mocking Drew for the fact some of his home crowd were cheering for Punk (videos online show the mixed response and a CM Punk chant when he is in the ring) whereas Chicago will be fully behind Punk. Make Drew rage even more. Could be brilliant. The only way is up for Drew.

Planned. Drew resigned with WWE, and if he was not at the heart of suggesting this, I will be surprised. You need to be someone who understands it to even go for it. Personally, I think they could have gotten away with sending Punk out to the ring in the Hoops, but someone obviously took a decision that may be 1 step too far. They will have spoken to Drew to get his thoughts and weighed it up. In the end, screw job and Celtic tracky in the press conference is probably the right balance.

I said to my wife, the one way they could 50/50 split the crowd and have it work would be drew comes out in a rangers top and punk screws him in a celtic top. We got small parts of it and it sort of worked. Punk wasn't booed out of the building and Drew was still heavily cheered.

I love Wade being the only one who doesn't shit himself. I know they're friends, but sometimes, it's good to be reminded that some of these commentators were seriously tough guys in their own right.

I think they both are. We’ve come a long way. Some characters in wrestling have enough depth that a heel vs heel story can be as compelling as the classic face vs heel. This one’s all about escalation. Punks been a dick to people. Drew called him out but then clearly crossed a line by celebrating his injury. Punk attacks him but doesn’t actively screw Drew. Just leaves an opening for Priest. Now punks crossed another line by actively trying to fuck with Drew when he didn’t have to. They can keep doing this and no one has to be the classic good guy.

Both Punk and Drew are petty Assholes. You could make an argument about either being heel or face and you'd have a solid case. There's so many shades of gray in play here

Do you remember "I prayed for this, and it happened"? Do you remember when Drew accepted Bloodline interference to get a win over Cody? Do you remember Drew taunting Punk for minutes after winning the title at Wrestlemania? Drew's brought all of this upon himself, and he's still choosing to blame everyone else despite that. While Drew was undoubtedly the face on this particular night in Scotland, in the grand scheme of things, he's still a heel getting his comeuppance.
