Honestly looking back at this and the debut, I'm fine the way it went and played out.
If Singh debuted tonight, everything that happened would've had a different feel with him beating down Moriarty and Sydal. Every bad ending leads to better journeys. This showing gave Singh a lot of character development and showed what he's truly made of.
He has tons of personality and looked fluid with his moves minus the edit throwing Moriarty into the ropes.
Tonight was a good second step in my eyes.
Just a heads up. The mods here have said they consider comparing him to Khali to be racist.
I think it's totally stupid but just giving you a heads up so you don't get banned.
Gresham would be short in ANY company. He is 5'3" and probably closer to 5'2". Perfect guy to show a giant against.
Clearly TK knew what he was doing. And thankfully didn't listen to anyone else this time.
They could show me Gresham beating him down the line and I wouldn't bat an eye in disbelief. They would need some video packages of Gresham accomplishments for people new to him but still.
In all seriousness, is there a reason people make so many short jokes about the guy? Seems a bit mean spirited but everyone’s ok with it. Did he ok them at some point?
Looked dominant taking out Castle/The Boys, was fucking massive compared to Gresham, and it established his spot as the muscle in this trio with Sonjay and Jay Lethal.
Kudos to Tony because his actual debut was only a few days ago.
Tony admitted it sucked on Busted Open the day after Dynamite and then followed up with a proper debut the next night during the BOTB2 taping. He wasted no time redeeming himself
Eh, he looks nice visually. But every move he does looks like it has 0 force / effort in it. Both times he’s thrown someone into the stairs he has absolutely no energy behind it. It’s like he’s not following thru on the throw or choke slams.
I think that's by design though. The Chokeslams weren't even really that. He picked them up and then let them drop, commentary even says as much, which is fine for someone of his size. The stair throw, I think what they're trying to get across is that he doesn't try to throw them, he tosses full men the way you would non-chalantly toss a ball out of your way. I agree that it doesn't really work for making it look impactful though.
He actually moved with the double chokeslam. I mean, any wrestling move can fall apart when you overanalyze it, but the “he doesn’t need to put effort into the stairs throws because big” just looks like shit in both attempts.
If it's by design, it should look more nonchalant.
It should either look like he's swatting a fly, or throwing something full force.
Right now it looks like he just sucks at throwing people.
(Just the steps bit, I thought the rest lookee fine)
I’m sure he’s a.) nervous and b.) green as shit.
Just doesn’t want to hurt anyone. Big guys like that who aren’t assholes have to learn to be extra gentle with things. When you’re growing up and you’re two feet taller than your classmates you learn the value of a “soft touch.” Exceptionally useful in basketball.
Tall people really are built for basketball.
Well certainly. I wouldn’t have debuted either until he was more ready but the genie is already out of the bottle.
It’s unfair to him really. When you’ve set the bar on in ring standards where AEW has it extra exposes those who are new or not very good.
He’s gonna wrestle someone like Eddie Kingston who is going to tell him to just hit him for real.
Basketball also takes some of the most athleticism and body control of any professional sport because once you're 6'7" and up, you're already a genetic freak. Its not easy to do what they do. Joel Embiid is a current example and hope he retires with a handful of titles and MVP awards and gets a few years of being a wrestler in!
That was a smart way of getting the visual of Singh and Gresham without burying the latter. It was Jay Lethal who ultimately got the first move in on Gresham which is fine as his current rival.
While I partially agree with you I just think there are too many belts. Too many belts everywhere. Everyone is a six time champion of something or another with another few reigns scattered throughout. It’s like when wcw invaded and there was almost as many titles as wrestlers
I honestly think Singh could be a pretty decent wrestler given time. His debut was bad, but he looks much better here. AEW has a lot of good folks running the developmental side, if he's going to work whatever they do with ROH he'll be fine.
One thing he has going for him is the fact that he is coordinated enough to get drafted into the NBA, which means he may move like a big guy, but at least he will move like a functional big guy more than just being big for the sake of being big.
I am curious though what the scouting process was that led him to getting drafted (beyond Dallas going “Wow this guy is super tall. Let’s take a shot with him).
I saw this because he finished his G League career with more fouls than he did points (43 to 42).
This is one of those times where AEW can learn from wwe’s revisionist history. This level of thing is fine. If they go back and pretend Cody was never there they’ve gone too far
That is why the IWC going berserk about AEW being off the rails the last few days cause of one ending was just stupid. AEW always fixes things. They would have with Cody too but Cody had other ideas.
I mean I get it in a way. AEW has a very good track record high quality that when they make a mistake it sticks out like a sore thumb.
That being said, I think it's great that the fans hold the company to such high standards
This, like I sometimes gen tired of how much people will harp on a single mistake, but at the same time it's a great sign that people are used to getting a high quality product. WWE, which I will say right now is doing a lot of really good things, for so long was treated with a "Well it was bad, but it's WWE." which is what I think any promotion wants to avoid.
There needs to be the balance of holding company accountable to the fans with constructive criticism and pointing out where to "tighten the screws" and then the knee jerk internet rage of idiots being idiots.
I'd like to think that this should give people a reason to "let things play out" with a company who has a strong track record of doing things right for the most part.
Sometimes I don't get the core AEW audience online. I absolutely loved Satnam's debut Wednesday. I almost feel if it was November 1990 the Smarks would say "Who is this Undertaker? LOL the audience doesn't even know who he is...what a terrible debut". I always love big giant surprise debuts.
Cody wise, it felt like Tony gave him way too much free reign to come up with his own segments/storylines, which often backfired. Until Cody got fed up with the fans not treating him like 80's all American Hulk Hogan. Least for now Cody can bask in the theatrical fan adulation he felt he lacked in AEW.
I mean, I was still a kid at the time, but I'd seen him as Mark Callous in WCW and was still blown away by him as The Undertaker. I've rewatched his first few matches recently and it's incredible just how much presence he had, and how different he looked from the norm. I suspect it would have gone more like Malakai Black's AEW debut, with most people enjoying it.
I wish it was still on youtube, but I remember on tv Sting vs. Mean Mark. It's not quite "The Undertaker vs Sting" dream match people wanted but as closest as we'd get. The Undertaker debut felt like the first "serious" over the top characters at the ending of the "Golden Era". Before then heels were pretty goofy. Speaking of Satnam Singh, I remember first seeing El Gigante/Giant Gonzales and literally thinking he was eight foot tall. Didn't realize height in kayfabe wrestling was often exaggerated(tho Satnam seems like a legit 7'3)
Never in my life have I seen a company cater to fan complaints as much as AEW. Don’t mean this in a bad way. It’s shocking to see a billionaire listen to his customers to this degree. It’s honestly fantastic customer service.
Sure we won’t agree on everything but there’s typically a general consensus on how people feel about something.
AEW will say “opps” and finesse it into better shape. Wwe will just double down and tell you you like it fuck you. For instance, Roman’s seven mania main events.
This whole soft launch for ROH is actually working pretty well. We now know who holds the belts and who we're supposed to cheer for, which is all you can really ask when launching/relaunching a promotion. Good work by all involved.
(And an infinitely better introduction for Satnam Singh)
I found the match and aftermath, and Rampage match for the TV Title to be an effective as for the potential weekly show. Any chance that could be the Big Announcement on Dynamite?
That powerbomb would have been like falling out of a 3rd story window. I really hope thats his finish, if he could pull it off safely. The jacknife would be perfect
I hadn’t seen Gresham wrestle before Supercard, but between that match v Bandido and tonight he’s impressed the hell out of me.
Also, the Lethal Injection is one of my least favorite finishers. You took the best part of the cutter, the surprise element, and turned it into a damn rope rebound handspring? Lame…
Gresham was eyeball to belly button with him!
I wouldn't advocate making the big man lose so quickly, but what a David vs Goliath type victory that would be for the champ
Seems Singh is going to be involved with Lethal\\Dutt\\ ROH stuff. Can't wait until they get their own show so I don't have to see this Giant Gonzalez rip off on my tv
Much better intro for Satnam. His moves didn't look great because I suspect he's not confident he can do them without hurting guys yet -- those first chokeslams on the boys were pretty rough, and nothing he did after that even approached them, notably the much safer very similar spot with Gresham. He'll need to get that confidence soon unless they plan to drag this out forever, though.
So TK hires Jay Lethal then figures out he didn't really have a place for him so he buys ROH just so Jay has some meat to work with.
You ain't fooling anyone TK.
Dude this ending made Satnam Singh look SO promising. Even after the flat reveal on Wednesday, this caught my interest super quick!
He looked fluid doing moves (minus that one edit throwing Moriarty into the ropes), his mannerisms were on point, his character and personality is coming out, and things are actually showing to look promising!
He isn't afraid of Joe and only dipped because Dutt and Lethal were holding him back and even after leaving the ring, he wanted a piece of Joe saying he's done.
This impact wouldn't have had the same effect if he didn't debut on Wednesday so I like where this is going. Satnam debuting tonight would've had a different feel but the way they're realizing their wrongs is also a good sign! Not every perfect piece is made on the first shot.

This should've been how they debuted Singh
If at first you don’t succeed…
They should have had him walk in through the crowd. Would have looked amazing.
I'd rather they flop it at the beginning then rehabilitate him (Miro) than kill it at the beginning then fall into mediocrity (The Fiend)
Because AEW is so much shorter on average, Singh's height feels fucking *insane* Gresham's height difference left me with my fuckin jaw on the floor
[удалено]
I haven't double checked but I think Taker is a little bit taller than Jonathan Gresham, so it really makes that difference
Nah I'm pretty sure that's just cuz WWE kayfabes their heights
Maybe if Taker is in lifts and you're squinting.
He is actually taller than Khali by a few inches.
Just a heads up. The mods here have said they consider comparing him to Khali to be racist. I think it's totally stupid but just giving you a heads up so you don't get banned.
[I can’t get over this size difference, holy shit. He looks like a child next to him.](https://i.imgur.com/uYelYkq.jpg)

THE BIG BABY IS HERE FOR SOME MILK
6'0 vs 5'11"
[Looks like one of those optical illusion rooms](https://imgur.com/a/tToqQAS)
Legit how could anyone ever take this man down, that’s insane
We have a new version of that meme of Rey Mysterio facing off against Great Khali the size disparity is baffling
If we're going by billed heights, there's a 23 inch difference.
[vibes](https://i.imgflip.com/2o8srm.jpg)
Gresham would be short in ANY company. He is 5'3" and probably closer to 5'2". Perfect guy to show a giant against. Clearly TK knew what he was doing. And thankfully didn't listen to anyone else this time.
Nah, this may have been the idea of another 30 year veteran.
He asked 30 month veteran Anna Jay this time
Careful what you say about greshams height. He might climb on jordynne graces shoulders like fergal on fale and will smith you
I mean Gresham looked like a smaller version of Samoa Joe and hes not that tall.
Bouncing Gresham like a basketball is gonna be a great GIF

Suddenly I have a research project that needs attending to
6 foot vs 5'11"
joke went way over my head at first and i was gonna be like “bro he’s 7’3” wtf???”
It's okay, it went over Gresham's head too.
What doesn’t?
In all seriousness, is there a reason people make so many short jokes about the guy? Seems a bit mean spirited but everyone’s ok with it. Did he ok them at some point?
Cue Daniel Garcia from the Bunny's most recent vlog indignantly insisting *he's* actually 6'.
😢
Geeze, is this same dumb joke going to be made in every single Satnam thread? It's old and repetitive already.
[удалено]
does anyone know his shoot height?
I believe they are 2 feet apart, Singh being 7'3" and Gresham 5'3"
New format confirmed
[Same energy](https://i.imgur.com/JKLojOV.jpeg)
Every time I see this he gets smaller
That's what playing league for 12 hours a day does to a man.
same species.
He could knee him in the face by stepping forward
Someone tweet this to Anthony Ogogo
That was a *much* better debut for Satnam.
Agreed. Going to pretend the other debut didn’t happen now. Haha
Yeah, my fiance and I immediately agreed that they should have just introduced him here, like this.
Quit bragging about your fiance I watch wrestling with ma used flesh light and a pint of cherry garcia
You wouldn’t know his fiancé anyways. They go to a different school
Alright we’ll then how did the cherry garcia feel about his debut?
Looked dominant taking out Castle/The Boys, was fucking massive compared to Gresham, and it established his spot as the muscle in this trio with Sonjay and Jay Lethal.
Im sorry seeing Satnam and Gresham face to face was hilarious.
> Im sorry seeing Satnam and Gresham face to stomach was hilarious. FTFY.
More like face to crotch
that RULED. 10000% better way to showcase Satnam Singh than last week. he looked bloody awesome
Kudos to Tony because his actual debut was only a few days ago. Tony admitted it sucked on Busted Open the day after Dynamite and then followed up with a proper debut the next night during the BOTB2 taping. He wasted no time redeeming himself

I don’t disagree/not bashing the dude. Just feel like maybe those little fundamentals could be tighter before putting someone up on tv to perform.
Well certainly. I wouldn’t have debuted either until he was more ready but the genie is already out of the bottle. It’s unfair to him really. signh looked so much better her
Now THIS is a fucking debut.
Love how fluid the title picture in ROH is right now. All three singles belts feel very very important.
Gresham has bought the world title literally everywhere it’s incredible
While I partially agree with you I just think there are too many belts. Too many belts everywhere. Everyone is a six time champion of something or another with another few reigns scattered throughout. It’s like when wcw invaded and there was almost as many titles as wrestlers
Don’t worry after they do the brand split and the draft, it should all fix…
I honestly think Singh could be a pretty decent wrestler given time. His debut was bad, but he looks much better here. AEW has a lot of good folks running the developmental side, if he's going to work whatever they do with ROH he'll be fine.
he has the makings of a great big man, him vs gresham could be a perfect david and goliath story
Pairing him with Jay Lethal is the right move, Lethal is an experienced vet.
Also Sonjay Dutt's probably the greatest Indian-origin pro wrestler of all time. He's in good hands.
Yeah he has some great vets by his side, he'll definitely be fine.
One thing he has going for him is the fact that he is coordinated enough to get drafted into the NBA, which means he may move like a big guy, but at least he will move like a functional big guy more than just being big for the sake of being big.

He’s Indian Omos. I’ve enjoyed Omos, limitations and all, so far. Bodes well for Singh I suppose.
I mean it’s already been beat to death in the comments but I will echo this was much better than Wednesday’s debut.
This is the canon debut now lol. He looked great. He looked relatively mobile and showed some emotion.
This is one of those times where AEW can learn from wwe’s revisionist history. This level of thing is fine. If they go back and pretend Cody was never there they’ve gone too far
That's why I trust AEW to do good after a fuck up. Singh looked pretty good here. Just that visual between him and Gresham holy shit.
That is why the IWC going berserk about AEW being off the rails the last few days cause of one ending was just stupid. AEW always fixes things. They would have with Cody too but Cody had other ideas.

This was a really cool like ROH showcase, really hope they have some kind of TV deal.
That was fun. Definitely better impression to leave.
This whole soft launch for ROH is actually working pretty well. We now know who holds the belts and who we're supposed to cheer for, which is all you can really ask when launching/relaunching a promotion. Good work by all involved. (And an infinitely better introduction for Satnam Singh)

He was about to hit an honest to god move then Joe had to come out way to blue ball me >:(
That powerbomb would have been like falling out of a 3rd story window. I really hope thats his finish, if he could pull it off safely. The jacknife would be perfect
God I want to see him hit it on Fuego he will sell it like death lmao
# **DALTON CASTLE IS AMAZING**
So much better than how it was done on Dynamite. I really enjoyed this.
This was how they should've debuted him.
i’m rooting for satnam after this. i really hope dude is good
Me too, he seemed to move about pretty well for a 7ft+ dude
That's more like it. Much better than the Dynamite overrun.
Joe is so fucking cool
Lots of ROH stuff being set up, hope they get thier own show soon
much better!!!!!! now that how you do it
Samoa Joe is such a great signing. Give him the mic!!!!
Damn fine course correction.
Singh is too tall, Gresham is too small
I hadn’t seen Gresham wrestle before Supercard, but between that match v Bandido and tonight he’s impressed the hell out of me. Also, the Lethal Injection is one of my least favorite finishers. You took the best part of the cutter, the surprise element, and turned it into a damn rope rebound handspring? Lame…
Gresham was eyeball to belly button with him! I wouldn't advocate making the big man lose so quickly, but what a David vs Goliath type victory that would be for the champ
This is exactly why I didn't like Gresham as top champ of RoH, he is too short.
Why would you do that to Gresham, makes him look like a chump
Seems Singh is going to be involved with Lethal\\Dutt\\ ROH stuff. Can't wait until they get their own show so I don't have to see this Giant Gonzalez rip off on my tv
Much better intro for Satnam. Imagine if he squashed Gresham for the title lmao I would love that.
So TK hires Jay Lethal then figures out he didn't really have a place for him so he buys ROH just so Jay has some meat to work with. You ain't fooling anyone TK.
I hate AEW’s Twitter clips. They’re puny
Make this man champion. Now.
Not every perfect piece is made on the first shot.
he practically even with the top rope from the floor lol holy shit
wow this was awesome they made him look like a monster here hope his run goes well
Singh and Gresham looked like me and my 2 year old wrestling around
Singh still does absolutely nothing for me personally, but this was a *much* better showing. Goddamn is that motherfucker tall.
“First nba player in nba history to Dallas maverick” Never change taz
Uh, he said “first Indian player..”
To say that is Satnam's second appearance, he looked like he'd been doing it for years. I don't understand Jay Lethal though, there isn't really a story behind it
