I get so pissed when people complain about good matches on free TV. I couldn't consistently watch PPVs until adulthood because parents couldn't/wouldn't spend $30+ every month. So 95% of my fondness wrestling memories happened on free TV. Wrestling fans can be too traditional oftentimes.

To be honest? I can't tell you aside from the champs themselves and fucking Nikki and Doudrop. WWE hasn't really invested much into making that scene relevant or important in any way. That's the exact problem. It's not a great position to be in and they haven't really made investments to turn it around since the belts have become a thing. The 24/7 title has a more consistent, engrossing, fun, story line going on than the women's tag champs do.
When people consider the belts a joke, it's not that much of a leap in logic to then look at the champs as a joke. When you don't see changes being made to change that perception? Whew. That has to be frustrating.

I think it's one of those technicalities, like if the ref didn't see it then they don't 100% know what happened and they can't call it.
It seems that the rules are that applying it is illegal if the ref see it, but pinning someone under its effect is not.
