He was even regretful when he realized it, but had already turned the moment he cut his arm off. Mace being tossed out of the building was just an extra curricular at that point. Shimrra Jamaane - not only is he dead, but he's from a race I don't think Star Wars will ever touch again, because they were too grimdark for a lot of fans. The New Jedi Order is my favorite series of novels, but not very kid-friendly, and Disney wants to keep Star Wars accessible to kids.
