Take both of them to the mines/Skull Cavern and test out which one fares better, I guess.

iamergo

What in the goddamn? That crit chance on Neptune's Glaive is insane. It's not supposed to be there.

Gyrhos

I have SVE installed, so that might be it.

We had this case in the last playthrough where the other had a crit focused build either way and went for the Glaive to test it, it really wasn't worth it. Issue being that the randomness meant many hits did barely any damage, don't underestimate the 1-65 range. I was really excited thinking it would be broken, but all it did was become less reliable. When it crits in the high ranges it looks great, but it's vastly an overkill on anything you could hit, as it hits 600+. But most of the times you deal way less damage than just using the Galaxy Sword with crit focus

I just caught a Neptune's Glaive and it had +3 speed. Looks like the extra enchant modifiers apply on it.

I’d pretty much always argue Galaxy sword. That 1-65 on the glaive means you’re going to have some swings that are absolute tickles in comparison to the base damage of the GS. Even with the crit modifiers, it won’t amount to much half of the time, considering your base attack damage is an average of 32-33. Plus you have to account for the speed and the fact that weight results in pushing the enemy away, meaning less DPS overall. IMO, the galaxy sword is a clear upgrade to the glaive. Faster, harder, more reliable hits and DPS. The glaive is really great, until you get the GS. The. It’s just outclassed in every way other than crit.

Galaxy sword looks way better statwise

inkstainedquill

Like everyone else says: speed plus damage is key. Speed is especially so when fighting serpents and flying skulls.

JmTrad

I prefer a fast sword

Since you are using mods, there's no way for me to say which is better. The Galaxy Sword is the best sword in the Vanilla game to my knowledge, especially when you unlock its final form, the Infinity Blade. Depending on what mods you are running with, this version of Neptune's Glaive might be better for you. The vanilla sword is only level 5, with no crit effects, or boost and has a higher minimum damage, but lower overall damage. (18-35) So obviously the sword is the result of mods. If you are running other combat mods, or mods that allow you to wear more rings for example, how the numbers work out could be drastically different. In short, without your mod list and build, it is impossible for me to tell, you'll just have to test them both out and see which gives you better results. At the very least, hang on to the Galaxy Sword and upgrade it in the forge.

Galaxy sword, no contest

bedroompurgatory

Speed and damage are the main contenders, and Galaxy Sword wins in both.

Gyrhos

Here's a [VIDEO](https://imgur.com/a/rjvJhKR) for comparison Lets focus on the damage, speed won't matter cause I'm using Animation Cancelling.

shade0180

Yea you got lucky in cases with less.luck you can hit with that 15 multiple times probably even less specially against flying enemy that can ignore terrain.
