Baby_Brenton

At first I didn’t want to use it, as I thought it was too OP and took too much away from the game. But then I got it, and it really is life changing. It doesn’t ruin the game like I thought it might, and instead makes me want to play more. It takes away the tedium of things like fish smoker and furnaces, so I can do other stuff in the game. It really is amazing.

knittingyogi

Yes this was my worry too and I agree! It also has made coming up with fun “machines” and machine layouts such an integral part of the game. My chain of crab pots+bait bins+recycling machines+furnaces makes me so happy. I find the balance in it is that I need soooo many more chests and wood is already such a scarce resource. Its such a great mod now that I’m a few hundred hours deep in the game and playing more for end game content than the original grind of an early playthrough.

The5Virtues

My solution for chests is to always make my first “conveyer belt” be mayo and cheese makers. Being able to sell some mayo and cheese at the end of each day ensures a steady small income source. Once I’m that’s established I build a dehydrator conveyer belt for whatever berry crop I’m growing. Once you’re able to sell a couple dozen jars of dehydrated berries each night it ensures you’ve got a steady enough income that you can buy wood from Robin to afford more chests, to build more automate conveyers. Typically by winter of year one I no longer have to worry about my wood supply, I just buy stacks from Robin on the regular.

LordRocky

Yuss!! I make that same chain and I call it the infinite stuff maker. Just add the charcoal kiln for extra coal.

knittingyogi

Oh smart! Wood is always my most needed resource (way more than coal) but yes that’s a great addition

tiny_purple_Alfador

If you like that, maybe check out Factorio. It's a whole game of using chests and grabbers and conveyor belts in elaborate patterns. You land on an alien world and you have to make a whole huge factory by yourself, so that you can build a rocket in order to leave. Sometimes aliens attack, but I think you can turn them off. It's got more gritty sci fi aesthetic, but I find it oddly cozy.

lowtherone

never played factorio but heard its good, I played mindustry which is similar. same concept and crazy with mods

Hotarg

Factorio, Satisfactory, and Dyson Sphere Program are the trinity of factory games right now. If Factorio doesn't hit the spot for anyone, try one of the other 2.

Dzup

What you're describing sounds a lot like the game Core Keeper to me. Not as good as Stardew but still a great game!

Draconis_Firesworn

the factory must grow

de_Deus

just here to spread the good word. you may be interested in checking out [junimatic](https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/22672) its cool. tries to be more balanced, has progression and all, but basically works the same. it is pretty new tho

ThyOtherMe

I'm thinking about switching from automate to it. But the quests to make Junimos work are a bit ... Er.... >! Having to grow a giant fruit for them to work kegs is hard, bro. I need to ship those dam melons. !<

FruitfulRogue

I love the idea and concept of Junimatic but having to connect everything with paths sounded so ugly to me :(

de_Deus

i just see it as a part of the balancing mechanic since it will limit your space. sadly it doesn't work outside your farm which (i guess) makes sense but is bigger drawback than paths in my opinion

DJ_Betic

Ayyyy. Thanks for suggesting this. I like using automate but I also like to set up my processing machines as if I was using them or need to have access for maintenance. Like making sure I can reach each keg, dehydrator, etc. Looks like this mod gives me an actual reason to do it rather than just relying on my own head canon.

FBI-INTERROGATION

While that is like cool, you start having to majorly sacrifice aesthetic for functionality and that is a huge deal breaker for my farm layout ocd

jungkook_mine

It also helps me collect fruit from trees! I place the connecting tiles in between grown trees and voila!

Creepy-Bend

Remember you can only really appreciate the automation because you suffered through the tedium first

Kataphractoi

This is why starting a new map in Factorio is so hard.

ThyOtherMe

I had the same issue. And I still find default Automate to be too OP. I adjusted configus to only cycle products every 4 or 5 in-game hours so even the faster process are not that fast. And sometimes I have the chance to do machines manually, just to not lost the feeling. But he'll, I only use crab pots because automate exists. That brand new Smoker? Get automated. Making coffee? No time to babysit you, dear. Furnaces? Less time smelting, more time mining.

Known-Committee8679

My friend thought the same. He thought it would be op then he really enjoyed that he didn't have to constantly babysit the machines or have a ton of furnaces just to quickly get ingots. He can just enjoy the game. This is especially useful if you have stardew expanded and ridgeside which adds a ton more content.

F95_Sysadmin

There's been a mod that made automate more balanced using junimo going as a pipeline, going back and forth to move your stuff, with some quest to unlock more features I bet you'd love it. (I can't fcking find the link, wtf)

hollister96

yeah I installed a bunch of mods when I started a new playthrough for 1.6 and I've purposefully held off on automate until I start getting annoyed with the tedious things, which I am now so definitely going to go and set it up so i can spend more time on ginger island and skull cavern and stuff!

fredy31

If theres one mod CA should add to consoles its that.

iBCatto

he tried with the hopper its just a shane you have to pick it up each time, i wish it was like a minecraft hopper where you could put a second one on the other side to harvest the items. I wonder what his reasoning for it is, whether it’s too OP or hard to code or what

Bagel_Bear

The tedium to me is the balance of it all. Time and tedium doing smokers or kegs vs just selling. I don't hate on anyone using mods like this but it clearly changing the balance. Like I said that is fine!

Baby_Brenton

It’s definitely a balance. If you automate too much, then it takes too much away. Whatever helps people enjoy the game!

Silverj0

Same I absolutely love it. Felt like playing with mods was cheating at first but it just provides new ways to play. I tend to play games as is at first and then will modd stuff if I just want to replay the game but with added stuff or without the tedium of certain mechanics that I didn’t particularly enjoy

fishCodeHuntress

Same, I've only got 600hrs (300 on PC and about that on the Switch) but I get sick of filling kegs and machines really quick now that I know the game pretty well. I looove Automate for taking away that tedium. It's been the difference between playing and not for me many times. There's been plenty of times I've logged on, looked at my 2 sheds full of kegs, sighed heavily and logged back off.

elcasaurus

AUTOMATE MADE ME LOVE THIS GAME SO MUCH MORE THAN I ALREADY DID I played a good 300 hours or so on my switch, but the update motivated me to move to my laptop. With that came the temptation of mods. There's a couple that are ok kind of nice but automate is the one that will keep me on pc forever. Some of my favorite discoveries: Autograbber + chest + artisan machine like mayonnaise machine = your animals are automatically harvested and their products processed daily. Chest + fruit tree INCLUDING COCONUT TREES!!!!!! = Auto harvested fruit. Chest + bait maker + recycling machine + crab pots = auto harvested, rebaited and recycled crab pots THAT ADD TO YOUR FISHING SKILL DAILY. Bee Hive + Chest + cask = harvests honey and processed to mead automatically. I LOVE THIS MOD.

Mega416

I don't have the PC version, but I have been thinking of another combo. Trash cans around town + recycler + furnace = a few free iron bars, since iron ore and coal can be gotten from recycling garbage. Connect them all to one chest, and you should get an interesting haul on the regular.

dachfuerst

I wonder what the townsfolk, who already scoff at the farmer searching through their bins, would think if they started setting up recycling machines directly in front of their door 😂

MGorak

It works as expected but your idea is not as good as you expect. Using crabpots + recycler is so much easier and dependable. If you're going to connect every garbage can, consider connecting the berry bushes too. You'll get salmonberries and blackberries too with only a bit more paths. But if you really want to use the mod to its full potential, think big. Imagine if you fill every river and beach with crabpots connected to recycler, furnaces and kiln. Now you're talking. Tons of free coal with some iron bar too. Sell the fishes (as sashimi if it is more lucrative) and you get your money back in about 2.5 weeks. You're going to hit level 10 fishing very quickly and no bait crabpots is amazing(you actually want the garbage) I certainly never did that. 800 or so crabpots if I remember correctly. I never bothered with the secret woods. In Cindersap forest rocks, and twigs can break your paths so stay close to the river.

elcasaurus

Imma test it

saicpp

Please, inform us of the results, if yielded!

Shoddy_Life_7581

Automate with trash cans provides no relationship loss, the question is just is it worth ruining the aesthetic of the town with paths or lots of chests for some mid drops. Its also a little broken cause you can still check the cans manually but considering it's mostly trash getting a second check isn't really a bif deal

MGorak

It works. Not very good or useful except to get the garbage hat. Crabpots are so much better. And you can chain them easily. A few hundreds are magical. See my other comment.

guardiancosmos

I have a setup of (1.6 stuff) >!mystic trees with tappers + mushroom logs + chest + dehydrators that just works fantastically. It automatically harvests the mystic syrup and mushrooms, the mushrooms get dumped in the dehydrators, and then put back into the chests when done. There are also a bunch of other trees in that corner of my farm and automate collects their seeds for me as well.!<

elcasaurus

ALSO harvests tree seeds! My Grove is made up of pine, oak, maple, hardwood, >!fiddlehead and mystic!< trees connected by the path I chose to link automation machines (I chose brick), and everything is tapped. The one chest catches everything including seeds from all the trees!

MauPow

I just made a big tree farm with mushroom logs in between each tree, connected to a bunch of dehydrators. It's great

Kagron

Why haven't I thought of this yet! I have the quarry setup with every kind of tree so this will be perfect

elcasaurus

Yessssd

Wiwiweb

The farm must grow.

hackcasual

If people thought SDV was an addictive time sink...

Flaktrack

Need to play something until the Factorio expansion launches

pyciloo

There is only one resource in SDV... time. E: The quiet part I didn’t say out loud, and that all these others ate the downvotes for, is that *any* time reducing mod is making you more money. There is no argument to this point, but this post isn’t about that, I was just being subtly sassy 😘

ThatOneOutlier

There are two mods that I miss when playing on the PC version. The dresser mod and automate. Unfortunately, I often play SDV on my bed so I often just play on mobile or on my switch.

Shivering_Monkey

Yes, and mods are a clear indicator that people arent very good at managing it.

OwynnKO

That’s a pretty rude criticism for what amounts to an added convenience that this mod provides. And, if it’s allowing them to enjoy the game more, who are you to judge?

[deleted]

I don’t think it’s rude, time *is* the only resource in stardew valley, and if you use mods to manipulate it, you aren’t even trying to manage it. They didn’t say it’s wrong to do that, just pointed it out. If it’s more fun to play on easy mode do it but it is still easy mode

ThrowawayTrashcan7

Tedious does not equal hard

[deleted]

That’s true, but easy mode is nicer than saying “cheating mode”. The whole game can be described as “tedious” so to me it feels like you might as well have a mod that gives you everything in the game with a single click, seeing as time is Stardew only resource and skipping the “tedious” parts could be skipping any part of the game. Which there’s nothing wrong with, if you enjoy cheat sheet , automation, or time freeze mods that’s okay!! There’s no “cheating” in a single player game you should just do whatever is fun. For me, vanilla is the most fun

ThrowawayTrashcan7

I get what you're saying to some extent, but some things are arguably more tedious than others. With fishing, or caving, you may describe it as tedious, but you're actively getting rewards from it, and making progress. Whereas with getting iron bars for example you sort of... sit there and wait. It's not a rewarding experience, and you're still waiting the same time period as you would with automate to load something new in, you just don't have to rely on memory as much. What I'm saying is there's a pretty big difference between 'giving yourself everything in the game' or even time-freezing and automating a process with materials you have already gathered.

[deleted]

What’s tedious is subjective though. If you sit and wait for your iron bars while doing nothing, then the comment with 50 downvotes saying you have poor time management in stardew valley is correct. I agree there’s a difference, but they are absolutely on the same spectrum and I don’t think the person with the downvotes is incorrect. As I said, whatever makes the game more fun is the correct way to play

ChromaticRainbow12

Not wanting to use time on an activity is not poor time management. There is a different discussion to be made to what is easy mode and what is not, but that’s not what the previous commenters are disputing, and absolutely not relevant to the post either. Actively going into a post where people state their enjoyment with a QOL addition to their game, just to demean them is weird and puritanical.

[deleted]

Nobody’s demeaning anyone lol you’re insane for that take, I’ve stayed so many times that if it’s more fun that’s the way you should play it. When time is a resource, such as in stardew valley, and you circumvent managing said resource through the use of external file modification, you are neglecting to manage that resource. Time has constraints placed on it, you remove those constraints, you’re not managing it! That’s all anyone wants to say

_Mush_r00m_

Ive played this game on vanilla for hundreds of hours and reached perfection twice. Sometimes I just want to chill

[deleted]

And you don’t have to justify that to me! I think you should play however is most chill

Draconis_Firesworn

stardew isnt really the kind of game you play for difficulty anyway lmao

[deleted]

No it’s the kind of game you play for fun, and for some people difficulty is fun, and for others mods that take away some of the difficulty is fun, that’s really all I’m trying to say but everyone seems to have an issue with me saying that there is a difference in difficulty based on what mods you use lmao

Birdie121

Not everyone wants to min/max their use of time. I put hundreds of hours into stardew without mods, and now I do use automate because I enjoy getting resources but get bored having to process them. There isn't any "end goal" that has to be completed in a certain amount of time. So when people use mods to speed up certain tasks, it doesn't really matter. It's just whatever makes the game more fun for you.

ChippyTheGreatest

The point of a game is to have fun

pyciloo

Yeah, I see both sides. I also can't stand a lot of the early game for these reasons so I mastered getting my horse and Quality Sprinklers as fast as I can. Still, this is a game in which "nothing matters".

Terakahn

I guess this is an unpopular opinion. Most people are bad at managing time. Stardew or otherwise. That's part of the challenge. You can get near unlimited gold, crops, max out happiness so it doesn't decay, etc. The only limiting factor IS time. And you want to take that away? That's your call I guess. There are people who enjoy playing games like subnautica with unlimited oxygen and hunger meters. I never understood how you'd enjoy it like that, but if that's how you want to play. If you don't want that challenge that's fine. But the game was designed with certain constraints in mind. And eliminating those constraints is no different than using a cheat engine in any other game. Regardless of how you justify it. Too much quality of life often ruins a game. I think CA did a great job finding that line. I'm also of the opinion that people mod games too much though. But perhaps that's a byproduct of the era I grew up in.

PofanWasTaken

Automate mod is absolutely awesome, do recommend for every modded playtrough

AveryJuanZacritic

Having automate and "chests anywhere" mod means that you can set up production operations anywhere (ocean, forests, mines or island) and run your entire operation from your farmhouse. "But it's too easy." Not if you keep increasing your operation by finding new ways to set up production lines. (Keep track of results and find the most efficient layout). Every machine responds to automate and you can open any chest wherever you are with "Chests Anywhere". It makes it a new lego-style super automation game. See how far you can take it. BTW I'm at 1500 hours.

PofanWasTaken

Literally making factorio out of SW. I haven't tried chests anywhere, will play with mods again once i achieve perfection in this vanilla run

Shoddy_Life_7581

Even mostly vanilla, you're missing out after your first or second playthrough if you don't add automate and sve

ToujoursFidele3

I resisted nodding Stardew for so long but finally tried some out after 1.5 came out. It's really made the game more enjoyable for me! I'm bad at sticking with games for very long, this has made me play Stardew for longer without getting bored. I don't have many mods on my new 1.6 farm, but I had to keep Automate and To-Dew.

jdhlsc169

LOVE To-Dew! I wasn't going to play with mods for 1.6, but I decided I had to have To-Dew, Lookup Anything & Automate Y2.

de_Deus

for your next playthrough, i present to you... *drumroll* [JUNIMATIC](https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/22672) its pretty new so there may be bugs but its already pretty solid and fits really well with the story imo

tokyo_dave

This looks INCREDIBLE. And assuages my . . . trepidations at using Automate, even though I DO want to automate more things on the farm (geode crushin', fish smokin', etc.). Thanks for sharing!

Jss381

This looks so cute!

Thiaski

Looks pretty nice. Will use it in my next modded playthrough.

tallemaja

My current save is vanilla (I have no choice - I'm on switch) but yeah, if there's any one mod I'd recommend it's automate. The game has autopetters and autograbbers; to me, it doesn't feel very "cheat-y" as it seems to be kind of the same ethos there. I also liked casks anywhere ;) .

hheyyouu

Be careful in using this tho. Especially if you’re used to a certain chest layout. Make sure to turn off the automate on shipping bins so you don’t accidentally sell stuff you’re meaning to store to donate to CC or to the museum. You can still link stuff to the shipping bin. I just think it’s best to not have it on by default.

ThisIsNotMyPornVideo

Automate is legit the one mod i refuse to play without. Not because of the Time Saves but because it just makes something useable, the crab pots for example. Does anybody actually use those, except for the Crab Pot Bundle?, refilling them daily, by hand, if you got more than 20 is like, absolute hell

Mao-Lin-Mao

I didn't use them even for the crab pot bundle :D You can get everything from the beach + crab from crabs in the mines :) With automate on the other hand crab pots are okay, yeah

A5H13Y

I just have a couple crab pots and just empty & refill them when I happen to walk by.

IDontUseSleeves

Yeah, I keep a batch outside the mines, quick pop outside when I have a second

gummy_legos

Yeah! I just got this yesterday and love it for the same reason! I didn't make a lot my first playthrough, bc I never did these "chores" Just gotta be careful before install to make sure you don't have anything you're keeping that could automatically get machine'd. I had some fish in a chest that was connected (by other machines) to a >!fish smoker!< and it got >!\*smoked\*!< when I'd been saving it for a recipe.

Francostein

Yeah I make sure to keep the legendary fish far away from anything connected for this reason

eiscuseme

I’m making a dedicated tapper farm with all the trees and putting mushroom logs in all the free spaces in between, fenced off with tea bushes. One big chest on the end and I have a huge supply of mushrooms, syrups and any other tree products in the works and it’s only going to get better. Automate makes this possible lol

bisexualwizard

Same! I really thought it would feel too much like cheating, but it remove some of the most annoying & tedious parts of the game for me and I have fun setting up my automated pathways.  I'm glad I did them manually and I'm going to play vanilla again on my switch once the update is available, but I don't feel like I need to manually switch out my furnaces another 500x to have fun lol

Piggstein

The Farm Must Grow

LordGreyhawke

What I did to tone down automate was to have a few self-imposed rules. These rules generally add a manual step somewhere into the process chain. A chest can only automate one machine type. This means a chest for the furnaces, a chest for recyclers, a chest for the mayo makers, etc. The auto grabbers are not connected any processing machines. This requires me to visit the coops/barns periodically (weekly) to manually unload the grabber, load the processing machine chest and collect the processed goods.. The chest for crab pots has to be manually loaded with bait and periodically emptied. Trash has to be removed and loaded into the chest for the recyclers. No worm bins or recyclers are in the chain.

Key-Pickle5609

Yesssss I love automate!! When I play with Stardew expanded and Ridgeside village I also add chests anywhere because nothing worse than being a million miles from your farm and realizing you forgot something … or that your pockets are full AGAIN

Mortagon

It's definitely my favorite QoL mod. Huge timesink that gets solved just by putting hoppers to the beginning of the game.

Coffee_Fix

I love automate! That and the tractor mod are the best!

bluemilkman5

I’m hoping the Automators mod gets updated. I like having to wait until farming 10 to unlock a craftable machine to use, so it doesn’t seem quite so OP and you have to work to get it.

JRS_212

I love Automate, It hasn't left my mod list since it got there. The only thing I hate about it is the whole machine blob aspect, where everything connects through each other. Something like minecraft you have your automation chained and the thing moves from one place to the next, with automate, you can smelt ore through 15 distilleries and a bee house.

random_sociopath

Automate is a game changer

ThyOtherMe

Automate is my beloved. The One Mod. But I guess some people may find it too OP (me included). So here goes some alternatives: [Junimatic ](https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/22672) Works almost the same, but you have to make in-game quests to unlock automation and using paths becomes a necessity rather than an option. Make automation feels earned, much like Questable Tractor. As I could see, it's a new mod, so I still expect some changes until it reaches it's vision. Bonus: it's cute. [AutomateChests](https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/11727) Turns Automate into an endgame feature since it requires you to have access to hoppers to automate a chest. My current use? Go to the settings and change the "AutomationInterval" to something like 12k ticks. It will only cycle like 4-5 times a day and that slowing down makes it less powerful.

Mayel_the_Anima

Automate is basically mandatory for me. The game was so hard to get invested in before I got it. I’d always end days upset that I would hyperfocus on fishing or mines and forgot to go back and swap out eggs or milk.

bl4met

As a former modded Minecraft player, Automate reminded me of this and improved my gameplay exponentially.

Korkantha

Does this mod work for seed makers, and the crystalariums? Will I need a chest for both sides? or does it go back into the same chest?

EchoyToast

It will work with both, and you only need the one chest.

Korkantha

Beside SAMPI do I need anything else for the mod?

EchoyToast

Just SMAPI

ExpandingFlames01

I’ve recently installed the automate mod and I fully agree with you. It has opened up alternative play styles by removing the tedium associated with certain machines. In particular, I have started a crab pot empire on a hilltop farm and covered the entire landscape with trees to fuel my crab pot empire. I eventually hope to buy a tonne of fruit trees and turn the farm into an orchard. Here is my farm a couple of days before the green rain event. https://preview.redd.it/5kw6ysn36axc1.jpeg?width=1280&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=558b6746caf5d7ee3231183156cd94c00e337007

MrRikleman

Yeah, I can’t live without it. I’m generally making 2-3 thousand machines. Late game would be unplayable without automate.

Haxxtastic

Multiple sheds of kegs + Junimo Chests is a blast

CrystieV

Just be careful not to path a chest full of your stuff to the shipping bin, when paths are enabled. Regret that mistake, as does my sprinkler materials depot...

[deleted]

Surprised to read such glowing reviews…not that I ever tried it. I play the game for the chores lol. It can get a bit tedious at times though, especially the smithing and preserving. Maybe I should get it just for those purposes. I know I’ll always want to plant and harvest my own shit I also got tired of modding as my game was just constantly breaking.

roflmao567

I LOVE the Automate mod. It removes a lot of tedium when running your machines. I throw the materials into a connected chest and the machines will automatically process everything so I can do other stuff. It also allows me to have a passive income through crab pots. Such a game changer.

Boomerw4ang

It's absolutely one of the best mods. Sure play it without the first time and get the experience. But it completely changes the game when you turn it on. It takes away repetitive, boring, run-around tasks when you're already making millions.

Kataphractoi

Saw it while reinstalling my mod suite on a new install but held off getting it. Think I'm going to get it because I've gotten to where I'm filling kegs up and keg gathering/filling was always the least fun part of the game for me.

ChromaticRainbow12

Yeah, it’s a quick way to sap your energy I’ve found. Kegs, preserves jars and furnaces are the most tedious culprits.

Dragon054

I can't wait for that gaming article to write about this post.

ChromaticRainbow12

Hahah, I’d love to see how they’d spin this in an interesting way.

sitzilla

I feel the same way. This mod is the only reason I ever hit fishing level 10 after 800 hours of play

ChromaticRainbow12

Fishing with automate is a lot better with the 1.6 update. Absolutely amazing coming back home with a load of fish and dropping it off in a chest.

ItMoDaL

I found automate a few years back. I introduced it to a multiplayer game i was part of. At first the others were more hesitant than me about it. Now everyone of us can't play without it anymore. Even if we start a minimal mod playthrough, automate is part of every playthrough.

ChromaticRainbow12

It becomes part of the game when you’ve played for a while, and playing without feels like playing an old version of SV. It’s definitely a must-have for me too!

askingxalice

Automate and Clear Glasses are the dynamic duo

JmTrad

i don't like how clean glasses look. reminds me scale2x in classic emulators.

crunkdunk9

Yeah it looks like you’re emulating harvest moon for the DS lol

Nuts4WrestlingButts

It just looks like you smeared Vaseline on your eyes.

Delouest

what does clear glasses do?

purringlion

It upscales the pixel graphics into something more seamless afaik. I can see how a lot of people might like it though I'm all in for the pixels

askingxalice

It is like Spritemaster but for 1.6. It reduces load time and also smooths out the pixels a bit. (My laptop is trash and the pixels hurt my autism.) I have a screenshot [here](https://www.tumblr.com/bucky-boychik-barnes/748926577134436352/i-made-a-room-for-my-cats-in-stardew-and-one-of?source=share) as an example

crunkdunk9

I don’t like this 😂

zainecooking123450

I used it once as it was apart of sprite master it was fine but I prefer it without

askingxalice

A lot of people don't 😆

XenosHg

Upscaling/smoothening

Fluffy-Strawberry-27

Noob question, does using these kind of mods disable achievements on Steam?

MauPow

No, you just have to set SMAPI (the mod launcher) as a launch option in Steam

pillowpetqueen

I LOVE automate but the only thing it doesn’t work with for me is crystalariums- my gem will go through the time frame needed to copy but then the new one won’t go in my chest… anyone else run into this?

zainecooking123450

Do you have empty crystalariums connected

pillowpetqueen

Well technically they all go empty at the same time, I have all the crystalariums touching

jdhlsc169

Weird, I haven't had any issues with it.

zainecooking123450

Other then speed runs I can do in under 2 hours (marriage and meme) which I do fully vanilla for obvious reasons I always use automate

flashPrawndon

Yeah I love this mod, it really makes things better. I’m playing 1.6 vanilla right now and really missing that mod!

Slow_Tangerine3814

I love automate. But PRO TIP: do not move a chest full of valuables by hitting it with an ace, not realizing that it’s not touching the sales bin. You will sell everything before you can get there in time 😅

Fatal_Feathers

Automate's an absolute game changer. One of my favourite mods

Chiiro

I love automate! I can't play without it. Having to manually place things into machines is so tedious and takes up so much time. I'm glad so many mods that add new machines have support for automate. I had barely touched the crab nets before I started using automate because I would constantly forget that I needed to give it bate and to grab the fish

Omadon667

I absolutely love Automate. My favorite use is to put connectors around water sources that link up crab pots to a chest that has bait. I also tie in recycling machines, so I can leave it for week or so, and my chest is full of fish and useful items.

Modding the game also made me love SDV again. I love so many aspects of it, but the tediousness of some of the game makes it hard to want to play again.

Definitely giving this a try. Im one of the lunatics who plays this game almost exclusively for fishing and god do i HATE crab pots. Yeah, let me spend 4 in game hours re-baiting and looting them all and then OH BOY it was almost all literally garbage anyways.

Give it a try and let us know how you like it! You should read some of the cautionary comments though. For example, the selling bin is connected with automate too, so if a path(which can be made to work like a hopper in MC) connects a chest to a selling bin; it will empty it and sell all the items inside.

I use it with the Chests Anywhere mod (I'm super lazy with walking) and it's a game changer and a life saver.

I wait until Year 2 to add Automate to the game. In my mind, it is a tech upgrade that I'm able to have/work towards just like tool upgrades.

THANK YOU! I was getting tired of my second perfection run. This has changed everything!
