Hi all! It looks like this post involves a controversial NPC. While discussion is always welcome, threads with these characters sometimes devolve into hurtful comments and/or hostility. A few reminders:
- You may discuss characters freely, but you may not abuse other people for their point of view or personal preferences.
- This includes any sort of name-calling, insults, condescension, and unkind framing of another person.
- No character or human is black-and-white. Allow for nuance!
If you see a comment that you think doesn't belong on the sub, **please do not retaliate**. Hit the `report` button so mods can help! Thanks!
I found that dialogue especially hilarious in my playthrough given that she was literally in the middle of building a barn on my farm the day it rained green, and I couldn't even reach her to talk to her for her event-specific dialogue that day lol.
Same happened here. I was like mama I despise Demetrius and the way he treats you, but at least he was wearing a hazmat suit for his outdoor work LOL...
On my new farm (usually play on pc, started on switch for when I travel for work) I couldnāt give her a birthday gift because she was making my silo. š
tbh each month is 28 days so it would be sage to assume 1 day in game represents 3 days, so she does it in 1 week, which is still fucking amazing but a bit more plausible
Right? Lol. She'll literally drop everything and work 'round the clock without breaks until whatever little project I want is done. There's nothing more important to Robin than finishing my projects...except festival days. No wonder she and Demetrius are so passive aggressive with each other.
I maintain that Demetrius and Robin are the happiest couple in the game. They're the only couple with a designated weekly date night (Kent and Jodi's trips to church do not count), and they watch the sunset on the mountain together daily.
Their problem is that when they do fight they always seem to want to drag me into it. But like, ultimately what we see of them seems to be just a few scenes in an ultimately fairly comfortable relationship.
I had a barn built. Didn't think anything of the fact that her avatar is on the farm all day long. Went to the saloon on Friday night and thought I found a glitch: Demetrius dancing by himself but hands outstretched like he's still holding Robin's hands. Then I realized it's cause she's on my farm, ditching her husband for their regular Friday date night. smh She's one to talk ^
You mean you would let her stay at the farm worrying while you run around skull cavern and island, returning home at 2 am every day when she is already sleeping? :p
Robin: my husband spent the whole day with his specimens! ugh!
Farmer's spouse, waiting for them to return from their month-long stay on Ginger Island so the two of them can spend 10minutes a day with each other again: I hear ya!
Yeah looking back, the farmer is not much better than Demetrius at dealing with their spouse huh. At least we have money... which the spouses have no access to. Hmm.
Speak for other farmers. I try to be home by 9pm on most nights to not miss out on the last dialogue of the day and get one last hug before my spouse goes to bed.
Indeed. I switch it up to pumpkins and chocolate cake on occasion but mostly amethysts (got a Crystalarium set aside just for an amethyst to give to her every day). Give her a hug and a kiss and chat with her and the kids before I do anything each day.
I don't disagree, but as a hoarder myself, my spouse has all the gems, cloth and vegan burgers she'll ever need.
Besides, just like the fortune teller, I'm sure she can foresee what I'll be getting myself into. Which... actually makes it worse, now that I think about it ;)
i get really into my game and give sebby lots of his favourite food and talk to him a bunch, and set up the farm to not need to be tended before i go for a big adventure. but sebby is also the type to like some alone time so i'm sure he doesn't mind
Which makes sense. In real life too you'd be expected to make your spouse aware when you are planning to spend a large sum of money all at once, especially when they are the primary earner.
Sheās the āgolden childā who hasnāt yet realized her parents flaws. Demetrius is able to relate to her and seem caring and supportive because she is a good scientist which he respects. However one day she will realize that he was only giving her this attention because she was fitting into his ideals, and grow to resent him. That is, she would if time actually moved in stardew lol. Also definitely not speaking from experience š
I don't think it's fair to say that. Maru's heart events showcase a big part of the family's dynamic; she's not a golden child or oblivious.
Demetrius is able to find fault with her actions, if you pursue her romantically he >!initially disapproves of her relationship with you and mistakenly assumes she's fooling around with you behind his back. Her post-bouquet dialogue is concern about her dad's reaction!<. She also has an idle line saying her "dad would flip" if she went to explore the mines. Robin doesn't interact with her and only has one line of rotating dialogue mentioning her, which is just "X hates Y item" versus the 7 she has about Sebastian. That's not indicative of a golden child dynamic at all.
Maru also acknowledges when there's conflict in the family. She's present in the bedpost cutscene and is upset about the argument, she talks about wanting a closer relationship with Sebastian and assumes that he doesn't like her (which based on the way he talks about her is correct), and in marriage she acknowledges Sebastian's implied crush on Abigail and says she'd invite him over if he weren't "such a hermit". Maru's presence in that family is just as prominent as everyone else's, if anything it looks like she's walking on eggshells to avoid making things worse.
I havent played with mods for like 2 years. My laptop died. X.x
But i had 200 mods, including the xtardew. XD

I actually got to mod it where I could have unlimited spouses, and also opened up the pool. Also multiple spouse rooms, including new ones for the NPCs.
I had married Shane Alex and Clint at the same time.
Also "little science project" is condescending and sounds like she doesn't respect his work.
Tho I don't interpret these dialogs as deep as others and more as innocent banter/venting.
why is he hated?? Never seen this before, I've been mostly neutral to him because he doesn't really do anything but isn't particular bad either, unless there's something I'm missing
He has a couple of cutscenes that cause people to dislike him - one about tomatoes, and one where he gets protective over Maru. He also favours Maru over Sebastian. Personally, I don't mind him, but he's not my favourite either.
Idk I didnāt hate him during the tomato thing. He says himself he struggles with understanding what people want when he has to make assumptions. He was asked to grab fruit, and he bought fruit.
Basically he doesn't really treat Seb nicely and instead sees Maru as his only child. She's like the golden child in the family while Seb is sort of like the black sheep? Like yeah, Seb is just his stepson but you gotta accept the kid as your own if you're gonna marry a MILF. I never really liked how Seb was treated in that household, that's why I married him so he could actually have a room instead of living in that damned basement. There's also the tomato being a vegetable or fruit debate he and Robin had, as well as how he's overprotective of Maru.
Not a real big Demetrius fan, for obvious reasons, but this doesn't really seem like a big issue. He likes doing his job (?) (hobby?), we can let him enjoy his own interests.
This is in response to the first green rain event, where everyone thought the world was ending. Robin was with Sebastion and Maru while Demetrius was outside taking samples.
Marries scientist.
Annoyed when he goes to do science?
Also, if I remember the dialogue right Maru wanted to go out there with him.
Demetrius gets too much stick on here, he's hardly Pierre ;)
I'm on team Demetrius here. Maru wanted to go with his dad to help him, but Robin didn't let her, wich I find quite oppressive considering shes an adult. Robin is very controlling sometimes. Sebastian was eager to find out what the frogs were up to too, so it's probably that Robin just forced everyone to stay at home wich I can understand, but still.
This is off topic but your comment about robin not letting maru out despite being an adult just got me thinking about it. Why does it feel like so many of the marriage candidates are in child-adult limbo? They seem like adults only in the sense that we can marry them, but other than that they live with their parents and, in my opinion, act very childish. I guess I just wish there were more candidates like elliot and harvey who seem a bit further in their adulthood
I think the limbo is intentional where the dev wanted them to be in this kinda vague "young adult" age range so that there wouldn't be the weird "I like bachelor x but they feel too young/old for me" for most players, but you're right that despite that there's still definitely pronounced differences in maturity and life experience that make some of them feel like teenagers, even if they're not.
Elliott, Harvey, Shane, and Leah are the only candidates I can bring myself to marry for that very reason.
When I first started playing (seven years ago!) I did have saves where I married Seb and Alex and Abigail, but I'm in my thirties now and the thought of marrying any of them at this point gives me the ick.
Emily also manages to break this threshold for me as her living not with her parents (at least functionally) and having a job gives an impression of adulthood.
She also gives older sister vibes. Like idk why but I always thought her and Haley had a decent age gap, prob not as big as Sam and Vincent's, but maybe like 6ish years different, give or take some years.
I have 0 evidence for this past the characters vibes, and the fact that I'm p sure both her and Haley say she does most of the chores and cooking.
Also, as a side note to it, I feel like Emily has always been super into making clothes which is what got Haley into fashion as a kid, bc she looked up to her big sis. Again 0 evidence but vibes lmao.
That's honestly fair, my cousins are literally Haley and Emily incarnate, and the older one is much more like Emily while the younger is much more like Haley. So that probably deeply impacts why I view the two characters the way I do (and prob why I have 0 other evidence than "vibes" lmao)
With no canon ages it's all up to player interpretation, well unless there are canon ages that I've been missing lol.
Same, Harvey is the only one that doesn't feel like a child or a man child to me.
I wanted to marry Gus, Clint, and Linus my first save and was disappointed that the babymen were my only options really :|
That adult-child limbo is probably just that theyāre all college aged. Speaking as a current college student, Sam, Alex, Haley, Abigail, and to a lesser degree Penny all feel like people Iād meet in my classes in terms of how they act. Haley is probably my favorite though since it really feels like she matures and grows as a person during her events
As an online student, seb is someone id "meet" in one of my classes as well tbh. And by someone Id meet, I mean we are too similar and I will admit Im at a point of scheduling in when I gotta go outside. Gotta get that daily nicotine walk in and the occasional walk to the store lmao.
in their defense, it's kind of hard to get your own house in a town of barely 50 people. Doesn't make sense for them to move out across the street when there is a perfectly good house that they grew up in right there
To be honest this just feels somewhat accurate to me for small town americana lol. Even the guys with full time jobs still lived at home with overbearing mothers because minimum wage was so low and all the houses were owned by the business owners... People talked a big game about moving to the city but even the ones with means never did or came back right away. Although given that there's no school in the town, we really have no way of knowing exactly how old they are lol!
In a hazmat suit. It's freaking delightful.
I've not been fond of Demetrius since I started playing (the one Maru event, the tomato event, that one festival where he gives some irrelevant trivia and when you talk to him again he's like 'you're a farmer you should know this stuff') but since the update he's grown on me between how into the green rain he is and his dialog when you talk to him after you hatch a dinosaur on your farm.
And we have to remember he IS a scientist. If something new appears, itās kind of his duty to study it. If orange snow started falling Iād expect scientists to go out and grab samples to figure out what the hell is going on.
This debate is so funny to me bc I'm just imagining a marine biologist seeing orange snow and their partner expecting them to be able to do/know something about it/study it at a moments notice. Ik it's a game and Demetrius is just a scientist in it, but it's funny how it's turned the convo into what it is š¤£
This feels like dialogue from after the Green Rain event. I think it's fair to say it wasn't very considerate of him to abandon his family for science when they're all scared about the rain being dangerous.
On the other hand, how are people supposed to find out if the green rain is dangerous if no scientist goes out and tests it? I think itās actually a pretty rational and logical thing for a scientist to do when thereās a potential dangerous thing.
I do think it's logical for him to do sampling and testing, but I think in this dialogue it's less of "doing scientist work bad" and more of "knowing and assuring my family is safe first takes priority before I do my work".
> abandon his family for science
That's not what he's doing, though? They're safe, and there's no indication he didn't make sure of that before collecting his samples. And once it's clear they're out of danger, trying to figure out what's going on is objectively the ideal use of his time.
Ah yes and the only rational and interested character in said rain is subsequently crucified by the sub. Robin doesn't even look mad, just slightly annoyed at her goofy husband.
I'm on his side for once. I figure scientists are very giddy and excited to find new discoverable things out there in the world. If my husband was out trying to find whatever tf is going on, I wouldn't be annoyed in the slightest. Knowing about the ongoing changes in the environment that you live in is extremely important.
Yeah, this is bizarre that the subreddit seems to be on Robin's side here. Belittling your spouse's career is incredibly toxic.
(I'm a scientist so I am a little biased, but still.)
I think it's a combination of her being a lot of people's Stardew Valley waifu and in general people disliking Demetrius due to previous events with her (such as the "tomato is a fruit" debate) and him being overprotective of Maru. It creates this bias where Demetrius is always in the wrong or incredibly shitty to people.
The subreddit generally despises Demetrius, so a lot of them will take Robin's side by default. It's just how it is around here. Demetrius feels like public enemy #1 half the time and it's mostly because Sebastian claims he's a horrible person.
Iām pleasantly surprised to see more people than usual defending Demetrius here, I thought for sure this would get tossed into the āDemetrius bad Robin goodā pile without any second thoughts
Yeah, considering the amount of vitrol thrown at Demetrius by this sub on a daily basis I was fully expecting it to be another case of people villainizing him to justify their own dislike. It's pretty nice to see a thread that's mostly on his side for once.
If she starts building on your farm before the green rain she'll still be working idk if it got patched but it was funny
Happened on my first encounter
I mean, during the green rain, she's extremely worried that he might get hurt being out there. Maru says "Mom is insisting we stay here"; Sebastian says she's "freaking out".
Yes, this particular line from Robin seems condescending, but I think it's more meant to mean that she views it as Demetrius putting his life on the line for a scientific discovery and therefore downplays the importance of the project, compared to the life of her husband.
I don't know if that's how Eric meant it when writing that dialogue, but to me it makes sense with the overall characters. She has a husband and daughter who both get lost in their work to the point of potentially endangering themselves to further their scientific projects.
I get why she would want Demetrius to abide by her wishes and stay inside, even if he doesn't see the danger and it's just for his wife's peace of mind.
Thinking of the scene with the hardwood bed, where he doesn't understand the importance of aesthetics and can't empathize with her on that, he might also not be able to empathize with her fear for him, since he thinks he's safe in the hazmat suit. Even the "are tomatoes fruit" scene falls into that pattern of him not empathizing with her point of view because he believes his own to be scientifically correct.
So, it might be in line with something that regularly comes up in the relationship and frustrates her.
...or I'm just empathizing with her like this because I'm with a scientist myself and I've had similar discussions with him š
Nah, I totally get it. It's something that just happens in a marriage. Even the most loving couples can have a hard time with each other. Even when interests align you can't help but have some sort of quirk that doesn't mesh well. My poor hubby, having OCD, will drop what everything he is doing, even food on the stove when he's triggered. I am understanding as I can be as I have what doctors currently clock as bipolar disorder and can suddenly fly off on my own tangents, but usually...well it just hits different yanno?
Sometimes I think you guys have never been in a normal relationship. Can your partner have traits that upset or bother you (and probably always will)? Yes. That dosent make them abusive and it doesn't mean you are in an unhappy relationship
Woman: "I think my loving husband of many years misprioritised work and family in the wake of a once-in-a-lifetime event, and I'm kinda miffed about it."
(Much of) this sub: "FUCK YES! DIVORCE PARTY! WOOOAH!"
It all comes down to horny tbh.
At least half of the Demetrius hate is simply people wanting to find an excuse to oust him so they can marry Robin lmao.
If Demetrius was super hot (to the majority, some people definitely love him as he is now) then youād see way more posts about how Robin is bad and Demetrius is good.
Itās just a matter of thirsting over fictional characters and demonizing their partner to fulfill their fantasies of whisking the hot one away.
Hot take: I'm not that big of a fan of robin, she seems rather judgemental imo and doesn't try to understand her own son. Has anyone seen the dialogue she has about Linus calling him a "wild man" and essentially saying that she's creeped out that he lives near their house?
Hot take: I'm disappointed by this and the new Clint dialogue.
It feels like CA is starting to buy into the fan memes about these two characters being so disliked and isĀ kind of exaggerating it now. Almost like a weird kind of fanservice.Ā
IMO it'd be better to actually give these two characters more nuance and complexity than double down on the memes.
Pfft. Real life me also moans about hubbyās interest on trains (heās been a railway enthusiast since the age of 2)ā¦ Iād say āyou love your trains more than you love meā with a fake pout.
Thatās just normal married couple things. Lol
For Christmas, Demetrius is worried that Robin is going to give him another toolset. That's what SHE likes, not him. She knew he was a scientist when she married him. Studying some weird storm is like a dream for him. I'm not that sold on Robin...
Personally I think Robin is the ridiculous one. She's mad because Demetrius went out in full HAZMAT to find out what the actual risks were instead of cowering helplessly in fear.
Like. I'm in your lobby dripping green rain on your floor from my glorious abs and I could be killing you all. At least Demetrius might figure out a solution.
I came back to Stardew Valley recently because of 1.6, and while interacting with Demetrius I started wondering if he may be on the spectrum. Think about it: he is very fixated on his science interests and is not very good with social skills.
For instance, look at the "Tomatoes x fruit" cutscene: everyone dismisses it as Demetrius being pedantic with language, but it occurs to me that he may have *genuinely* taken that literally and got super confused because of her reaction, which would be typical of an autistic person.
Has anyone else thought about that?
I'm shocked this comment's been up for 2 whole hours without anyone jumping down your throat to go "It'S nOt BeCaUsE oF hIs RaCe" yet. This subreddit treats Robin the way they claim Clint treats Emily.
I really like this addition tbh. Robin and Demetrius clearly love one another and have a good marriage. But sometimes she needs to vent about not getting his interests and sometimes he messes up and says something rude about her interests(hardwood bed event). It doesnāt mean theyāre bad people or donāt love one another, it just makes them more realistic
Demetrius can probably get carried away with his science stuff, but I always see him saying nice stuff about Robin and her work and how dedicated she is and stuff.

and if planned correctly she spends everday on your farm for 50g a day building silos only
I can afford 50g a day to keep her around.
*stares at all the kegs in the backwoods*
to build a coop in 2 days she needs the all nights
tbh each month is 28 days so it would be sage to assume 1 day in game represents 3 days, so she does it in 1 week, which is still fucking amazing but a bit more plausible

money
That's why she would do such a perfect couple with a crazy farmer whom fall asleep every night at two o clock in the caves or chopping wood
I maintain that Demetrius and Robin are the happiest couple in the game. I mean it sounds like she's the bread winner for the family. My farm alone probably funded her retirement.
I've definitely spent several hundreds of thousands of gold at her shop, possibly even over a million.
with all those new house upgrades, probably lol
Shes dedicated to her crafts
As is Demetrius
I love that you said āourā house. It truly is a shared abode
She works pretty efficiently considering she just hammers the same spot the entire timeĀ
Oh Robin, I'd treat you so good.
You mean you would let her stay at the farm worrying while you run around skull cavern and island, returning home at 2 am every day when she is already sleeping? :p
I ain't returning, someone is going to have to haul my ass back to my bed(I fainted due to lack of sleep).
Robin: my husband spent the whole day with his specimens! ugh! Farmer's spouse, waiting for them to return from their month-long stay on Ginger Island so the two of them can spend 10minutes a day with each other again: I hear ya!
Also fucking off to Ginger island a few days at a time without notice
She would have our kids as company
Oh yeah mean like how she currently has Sebastian and Maru as company?
I usually never did that i usually returned when i went to ginger island
She won't be complaining with all the hardwood i have.
Hard wood or hardwood? ; )
Yes
Yeah looking back, the farmer is not much better than Demetrius at dealing with their spouse huh. At least we have money... which the spouses have no access to. Hmm.
Speak for other farmers. I try to be home by 9pm on most nights to not miss out on the last dialogue of the day and get one last hug before my spouse goes to bed.
Hey, I feed mine amethysts daily!
I shove coffee and pickles at mine while running out the door at 6:30am.
Mine (Alex) gets random eggs lingering in my backpack lol
Fellow Abigail simp detected
Indeed. I switch it up to pumpkins and chocolate cake on occasion but mostly amethysts (got a Crystalarium set aside just for an amethyst to give to her every day). Give her a hug and a kiss and chat with her and the kids before I do anything each day.
Hey, speak for yourself. I give my wife a gift and a smooch every day. If I run into her during the day, I always stop to talk to her.
I don't disagree, but as a hoarder myself, my spouse has all the gems, cloth and vegan burgers she'll ever need. Besides, just like the fortune teller, I'm sure she can foresee what I'll be getting myself into. Which... actually makes it worse, now that I think about it ;)

I'm the same, I spoil him rotten because he deserves it š„° You're hungry and want frozen pizza? Here, have some homemade sashimi instead šš
Actually a dialogue with Alex as your spouse says you share the money
He also has to ask you for money in his 12 heart event
Which makes sense. In real life too you'd be expected to make your spouse aware when you are planning to spend a large sum of money all at once, especially when they are the primary earner.
He says something like "I know we have a joint account but I wanted to ask you anyway"
Which is very sweet and all, but Alex has a blank check from me and he knows it
but I will hug her every morning
Make her live in the basement for a year, then divorce her for SebastiƔn.
I'd never do such a thing.
She'd wake up in the morning, and you'd be right there being good to her
I want to empty her dish washer so bad you have no idea.
You been watching YouTube tutorials on how to rub her feet good?
Been on a Shoresy run?
I cannot confirm or deny that I am an Ontario born and raised boy. :)
The only person in the game I'd marry (apart from Penny) and she's already taken
Take her out for some good assorted tempura.
Itās a wonder Maru is so sweet. Youād expect her to have a sassy side or be cold, yet sheās nice as can be.
Sheās the āgolden childā who hasnāt yet realized her parents flaws. Demetrius is able to relate to her and seem caring and supportive because she is a good scientist which he respects. Yeah she doesn't have a relationship with Sebastian either, she's oblivious. That whole family is really sad :(
I always marry him so he can get out of that situation. Poor sebastian really opens up and grows once he's out of the basement.
I don't think it's fair to say that. Maru's heart events showcase a big part of the family's dynamic; she's not a golden child or oblivious. Agreed. https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/7721 worked great in 1.5. Update is on-hold for now

Yep, though personally i'd only go through with it If Demetrius stayed in the valley instead of moving to the city. Jodi on the other hand ;)
There's a mod that allows you to romance her which eventually leads to Demetrius permanently leaving the town.
NTRdew Valley
He's a scientist, Robin. Is he just supposed to ignore massive science stuff happening right in front of him?
Also "little science project" is condescending and sounds like she doesn't respect his work. Tho I don't interpret these dialogs as deep as others and more as innocent banter/venting.
SDV players love to take dialogue and turn it into the spiciest drama they can tbh
Have you ever been to a small town? That's par for the course.
Thatās true. Though i still hate the behavior regardless.
Married people? Complaining about each other? Impossible!Ā
Right? I get that Demetrius is massively hated here, but I don't know what she expected.
why is he hated??
I dislike Demetrius but you have a point
Why are you guys psychoanalysing this shit, its just her doing a little bit of complaining.
Ya, and it's in a way that's like "I miss my husband." I've said something similar along the lines of my hubby and his pizzas.
If thereās a reason to complain about Demetrius, this sub is going to find it, blow it out of proportion, and hang their hats on it!
Correct and it's the most realistic dialogue ever, whether it's reasonable or not. Couples will have little spats like this all the time.
Well then he's the only one doing something to solve what's going on
Heās the dude you save first to have a chance to solve whatever world ending phenomenon happening.
If scientists were supposed to stop every time someone was scared we wouldnāt get anywhere as a society.
Weirdly I have the oposite impression I think I have the popular older Sister/weirdo younger Sister trope too much ingrained in my mind from TV
That's honestly fair, my cousins are literally Haley and Emily incarnate, and the older one is much more like Emily while the younger is much more like Haley. So that probably deeply impacts why I view the two characters the way I do (and prob why I have 0 other evidence than "vibes" lmao) With no canon ages it's all up to player interpretation, well unless there are canon ages that I've been missing lol.
It's not unusual not to move out until one is in a relationship. Striking it out alone is hard.
Especially when this is so in-character for him. All things consider.
Yeah this context has me totally on his side. Like what is he supposed to do if it was dangerous?
I do think it's logical for him to do sampling and testing, but I think in this dialogue it's less of "doing scientist work bad" and more of "knowing and assuring my family is safe first takes priority before I do my work".
> abandon his family for science That's not what he's doing, though? They're safe, and there's no indication he didn't make sure of that before collecting his samples. And once it's clear they're out of danger, trying to figure out what's going on is objectively the ideal use of his time.
Ah yes and the only rational and interested character in said rain is subsequently crucified by the sub. Robin doesn't even look mad, just slightly annoyed at her goofy husband.
So they should just keep being scared and ignorant without someone verifying if it was actually dangerous?
I'm on his side for once. I figure scientists are very giddy and excited to find new discoverable things out there in the world. If my husband was out trying to find whatever tf is going on, I wouldn't be annoyed in the slightest. Knowing about the ongoing changes in the environment that you live in is extremely important.
Exactly. & sheās always out of the house working on her projects.
It's hard out here for demitribros š have to work double time lmao
kinda dismissive of her idk. Calling it his "little science project" when he's out there trying to figure out if it's safe or not š
Yeah, Demetrius breaking out the Hazmat suit and going out there is unapologetic Chad behavior.
There's also this dialogue saying "it gets lonely in the mountains" tho I'm not sure if it's been there since then.
If she starts building on your farm before the green rain she'll still be working idk if it got patched but it was funny Happened on my first encounter
Give him a break robin, he needs those samples to Upgrade his Super Destroyer and gain 10% less cooldown time on support weapons.
He needs his orbital barrage to really hone in on that new local farmer's place.
Doesnt she look like a jerk here as well, calling it "his little 'science project'" ? Very condescending
I want to marry Robin as much as the next guy and Im also not a big fan of Demetrius but this seems kinda toxic on Robins part imho.
Married people have frustrations and resentments with each other. That's normal in even the healthiest ones.
They could never make me hate you, Demetrius š
Demetrius fans rise up!!
Sometimes I think you guys have never been in a normal relationship. Can your partner have traits that upset or bother you (and probably always will)? Yes. That dosent make them abusive and it doesn't mean you are in an unhappy relationship
Woman: "I think my loving husband of many years misprioritised work and family in the wake of a once-in-a-lifetime event, and I'm kinda miffed about it." (Much of) this sub: "FUCK YES!
Almost like a weird kind of fanservice.Ā IMO it'd be better to actually give these two characters more nuance and complexity than double down on the memes.
I'm not sure this is an anti-Demetrius change though. You could read this as Robin being dismissive of his work.
Fans will jump at anything to hate on Demetrius though, hence this thread existing.
And people always bring up the mod where you can marry Robin and literally *drive Demetrius out of your small town* which is, uh...Ā
That... feels a bit racist, if I'm being completely honest. Probably not intentionally so, but the implications are uncomfortable.
thinking about how i saw someone complain about his birthday gift dialogue.. where he thanks you
Democracy waits for no man. The super samples call to all who will answer.
Don't they go for walks like every week?
Pfft. Real life me also moans about hubbyās interest on trains (heās been a railway enthusiast since the age of 2)ā¦ Iād say āyou love your trains more than you love meā with a fake pout. Thatās just normal married couple things. Lol
me and my fiancĆ©e go through the same thing lol. when youāre with someone for long enough, youāre going to find something to be upset about
For Christmas, Demetrius is worried that Robin is going to give him another toolset.
I've been playing this game for years but never came to this sub before. Insane how much hate y'all have for the only Black character, jeez.
Yes, the behavior of people in here is not great.
I'm shocked this comment's been up for 2 whole hours without anyone jumping down your throat to go "It'S nOt BeCaUsE oF hIs RaCe" yet. This subreddit treats Robin the way they claim Clint treats Emily.
Not only the sole black character, but the only character who is autistic-coded! Weāve hit rock bottom folks!
Lol concerned ape really leaning into the Demetrius hate for this one.
Demetrius can probably get carried away with his science stuff, but I always see him saying nice stuff about Robin and her work and how dedicated she is and stuff.
... You guys REALLY like Robin, huh?
I'm always amazed at how much expressiveness this game can fit in so few pixels.
Are ANY of the married couples in Stardew happy?
Yeah. Me and Emily are āŗļø
Do straight people even get to like each other in video games??? Everyone wants to marry robin but I wanna marry Demetrius
Ppl take these two a bit too seriously I think. š Theyāre just doing middle aged couple yapping.
You people in the comments tend to be very weird about these two characters.
