"I won Leah over with my IRL strategy: crowdsourcing a database of all of my crush's daily habits and usual locations, likes, dislikes, and conversational preferences, and then studiously referencing said database before giving her a gift, speaking to her, or leaving the house to track down her current location."
I gave her expensive stuff at first too, until I realized that she liked random fishing trash better 🤷♂️
It’s a good thing nobody requires variety to be happy.
Would actually be kind of neat if like, you got less and less friendship points the more times you gave something the same thing in a row. Like if one if their favorite gifts gives 20 points, and you give them the same one the next gift, it would go down to 10. If again down to 5. Might be kind if a fun challenge
That ruins my whole strategy if giving berries and flowers to 75% of the entire population at random the first year because of inventory space and not caring about most of them 😂
Salad is easy and convenient. I'm usually already carrying it around everywhere by summer when all the salmonberries have run out, and it's a great cost efficiency per energy price point that most other items can't beat, even if you're buying it from Gus in bulk.
Reminds me of the visible disappointment on my parents face when I, their fussy child, finally tasted garlic bread and was like "holy shit this is amazing" and they realised they had to share with me now as well.
Maybe it's not super bad, I have a minor strawberry allergy and I eat them for breakfast every day, sometimes you just like something enough, and the allergy isn't super bad so for that one thing you stick out the reaction
My sister is allergic to fresh peas from the pod (moat fresh veg actually - once they're cooked she's ok) but every summer she swallows her antihistamines and cracks on cos she loves them.
My allergy (tree nuts, peanuts and cashews) is a lot more severe so I can't do that but I totally get the urge to just ride it out for something you love.
Not everyone with a gluten allergy can't have it all all, but moderation is key. That muffin might be her daily or weekly (or even monthly) limit, or it might be a case of "it's worth it to me even if I regret it later."
Sorry for coming across that way. As I explained in another reply, this kind of misinformation hurts everyone with this disease, like the person you know about. Under any case should someone with celiac's disease allow themselves gluten. But a lot of people who have this condition think they can, because it is an illness that's not truly understood by the general population.
I have celiac's disease and this kind of misinformation does make my life more difficult.
Even with my country's law being on the stricter side, you can still find gluten-free menus in restaurants that have a teeny tiny disclaimer on the bottom to specify that, in fact, orders from that menu are not exempt of gluten. In my country, it is illegal to proclaim any product is gluten-free when it is not really. But because this claims usually come from a place of a lack of education, the law is permissive.
That results in me and many others getting glutened, which goes far beyond simply upsetting your stomach. Just from cross-contamination, you have months-long inflammation in your whole body, and that includes the brain.
Someone without knowledge of this cannot imagine how much this inflammation impairs you in several areas of your life. I hope you understand now why I pointed out an inaccuracy.
ETA: On top of your whole immune system going bonkers for multiple months or even over a year, your colon gets damaged, and we still don't know if it can be reversed completely. That colon damage usually results in nutrient absorption malfunction, aka anaemia. This is a disease that weakens a good chunk of the global population, and we still talk about it without any care of the info we spread being true.
I fuckin wish this was the way in the US. Went out to dinner with coworkers at an Italian place, (usually 1 item GF on the menu, nbd). They advertised gluten free pasta for any of the pastas, great! Nope! They boil the gluten free pasta in the same water as all the other pastas, so it’s not gluten free. If I hadn’t known to ask, I would have been peeing out of my ass and feeling sick as hell for the rest of the time on our job site.
I'm so sorry you had to went through that, it feels like a slap on the face. The restaurant industry should know better at this point.
And this illness is something that doesn't rely completely 100% on us to be healthy, but until we are sure society understands how it works and how to avoid cross contamination, how to properly clean the work area... We're screwed and have to go far and beyond, like you did, just to make sure we're functioning members of society.
Honestly, I was kinda surprised how the law works in other countries. Because even with this strictness, there's not a fan of gluten free options. But at least you're "sure" they're okay to consume (as I just said, it would be if it was enforced).
Please let me know how to change my flair? There is my current one, or some frogs. That is all. Frogs are newer also. I’m fine on all other subs. Am using app not computer. :-)
Also cool flair (although ewww mayo)
I’ve still not… married Sam!!! But wouldn’t he eat all my pizza ?
Depends on which device you use. I’ll edit both mobile and pc ways here soon
Edit: Mobile go to the subreddit main page press the … and the menus for flair making should pop up. Select the frog flair or the custom flair here flair then press the edit user flair button and you should be able to make your own.
PC: Go to the sub’s main page and to the right side, there should be user flair box, which you can hover over and press the pen icon to change the flair.
I have no idea.
Honestly I think there’s just so much dialogue that some of it gets forgotten at times.
There’s also the problem of a lot of SDV players like to use SDVE but sometimes forget what’s base game dialogue and what’s modded dialogue.
She has a gluten intolerance!
Not really. Some people are just really picky about baked goods. The wrong texture can ruin baked foods for me not matter how good the taste is.
She told you. her favorite part of living here is the natural fresh healthy foods. Of course she doesn't want a pizza, she knows you have her favorite mushrooms and you're withholding them.
I swear Sebastian likes cheese as a gift. Not loves like sushi, but still likes
Edit: I am extremely incorrect lol
Edit 2: it was COFFEE I gave him that he liked, not cheese. I feel marginally less insane
Unfortunately Sebastian is one of the 3 villagers who hate cheese. The others are the kids Vincent and Jas. Harvey dislikes cheese, and everybody else likes cheese. (I like to use cheese as my “universal” gift to everyone. The 4 exceptions get more customized items.)
I feel like I’m losing my mind, I could have sworn I gave him some the other day because I was out of sashimi and he liked it.
But I’m looking at the Wiki page and it says he hates all artisan goods? Is this a 1.6 thing or have I just somehow never noticed across 5 different playthroughs?
Haha no worries, it's not new but also it's pretty easy to never notice some "obvious" things despite many hours of play. \^\_\^
For example: I only recently learned that all of the pre-1.5 fruit tree fruits are actually universally liked. The only exceptions are when a specific villager loves a given fruit. Zero negative exceptions!
I remember buying him a beer at the saloon on Friday once and him hating that, so I just assumed he was a straight-edge boi. I usually just catch a fish and make him some fresh sushi so that's probably how I missed it for so long!
Yeah I know, I just have a personal preference for cheese! \^\_\^
It's partially out of habit, since that's been my go-to for nearly 8 years now. It's also the most convenient since I like to use cheese as my energy food. I can just go about my day and gift people I happen to come across, without adding anything extra to my inventory.
Harvey has been my bf for like a year now but at the Luau he asked me if I thought Maru needed help putting sunscreen on her shoulders. I am dumping his ass
Too right!
I married Harvey this playthrough just because he was the first to get the stars (and I was deliberately not marrying anyone I had before)
I knew about the gross Maru comments so deliberately didn’t chat to him during events (to be honest I didn’t talk to anyone in events this playthrough except Linus and mayor because we have to).
That said, his first date event threw all my doubts aside. And his 14 star event. For now.
I now need it to be summer so I can see what he says at the luau. I May be divorcing the guy in a month.
Listen, I eat the pizza so she can get the salad that comes with it. We have a symbiotic relationship.
What worries me more is that your monitor appears to be bent. Should probably get that checked out. /s
I feel the same sometimes. She hates bread and pizza. A random dialogue reveals that she is so broke she has been eating nothing but bread for a while and it makes her sick now.
Shakes head in that pizza she had in Ushuaia, Argentina, which even the sparrows would not eat from the rubbish bin outside.
However I truly appreciate the sentiment and on the whole you are correct.
I only give her salad and drift wood lol. Maybe goat cheese if I actually remember to save it instead of sell.
She was my first marriage when I first started playing. I love her
Year 7 and married to her, did not know this lol…. I have been feeding her salads since I learned that was a favorite in the beginning haha.
Some changes may need to be made here…
Thought she mighta been gluten intolerant based on her hates & dislikes, but nope she loves poppy seed muffins. Guess she's just a pizza hating weirdo.
I always think of Leah as vegetarian, and I always associate pizza with having meat for some reason. People say gluten allergy, but one of her loves is poppyseed muffins.
Makes sense lmao, although for my first play through I DID end up using a guide to woo Leah 😭 I think when I start my new play through when 1.6 hits, I’ll marry her again lol (or Sam this time IDK)
I gave Emily a Jack o lantern and she disliked it or hated it, she made the jack o lanterns for the Fall festival and asked if i liked them. Needless to say I was confused.

I won Leah over with my IRL strategy: wine, coffee, and things I found on the ground.
I won Leah over with my IRL strategy: goat cheese, leek and salad
I won Leah over with my IRL strategy: looking up online how to win artsy red heads over /s
"I won Leah over with my IRL strategy: crowdsourcing a database of all of my crush's daily habits and usual locations, likes, dislikes, and conversational preferences, and then studiously referencing said database before giving her a gift, speaking to her, or leaving the house to track down her current location."
I won Leah over with my IRL strategy: random wood from the sea, veggies and salads
Instructions unclear, somehow ended up with Penny
I gave her expensive stuff at first too, until I realized that she liked random fishing trash better 🤷♂️ It’s a good thing nobody requires variety to be happy.

Diminishing returns is indeed a staple mechanic in pretty much all of gaming.
That's the term! Couldn't think or it lol
Or maybe just a cooldown for each gift before it's worth friendship points again?
Some characters in Spiritfarer work like this!
Salad is easy and convenient. I'm usually already carrying it around everywhere by summer when all the salmonberries have run out, and it's a great cost efficiency per energy price point that most other items can't beat, even if you're buying it from Gus in bulk.
Wait... shit, am I leah?
well, if Leah ate cats...
If the cat fits ..
*gives goat cheese* so how are ya? See ya tomorrow and then next week two times again
Aw fuck yeah gonna spread this on some crackers with some honey thanks!
Leah is the "women laughing alone with salad" meme personified.
I won Abigail over with my irl strategy: pretty rocks and mountains of pumpkins
it means you don't have to share the pizza. just give her salad
Reminds me of the visible disappointment on my parents face when I, their fussy child, finally tasted garlic bread and was like "holy shit this is amazing" and they realised they had to share with me now as well.
My child recently asked to try some of our sushi & we were both proud & dismayed, because sushi night’s gonna be a lot more expensive now
Yep she loves salad, I love pizza. Perfect.
Now you must fight over the breadsticks
She thinks bread isn’t great either, so mine all mine with garlic butter.
more left to me
Yeah ! Just toss her salad or something.
She hates bread too
Gluten* allergy, is how I remember Leah hated gift
You mean gluten?
Imagine actually developing an allergy to glucose. It'd be like an even worse version of diabetes.
Pretty sure you just die at that point honestly
Oh yes. The brain needs both blood pressure and glucose, and you can't really have both in this scenario.
Turbo diabetes
but… but the muffin
Maybe it's not super bad, I have a minor strawberry allergy and I eat them for breakfast every day, sometimes you just like something enough, and the allergy isn't super bad so for that one thing you stick out the reaction
She has a winter dialog about eating mostly bread. She's not happy about it but the implication is she'd just prefer to be eating fresh vegetables.
It’s poppyseed so it contains flower, not flour. ;)
Take my up vote r/angryupvote
Accepted with glee.
Not everyone with a gluten allergy can't have it all all, but moderation is key. That muffin might be her daily or weekly (or even monthly) limit, or it might be a case of "it's worth it to me even if I regret it later."
Gluten allergy doesn't exist. You have wheat allergy, celiac disease, and non celiac gluten sensitivity.
Pedantry at it's finest. I was specifically thinking of someone I know with Celiac's.
Sorry for coming across that way. As I explained in another reply, this kind of misinformation hurts everyone with this disease, like the person you know about. This is making me rethink marrying her.
If you want someone who likes pizza id reccomend shane lol
or sam!!!
Get your fucking paws off my hubby!!!
oy. hes OUR hubby.
Comrade?
careful! they’re deceiving you to get people away from their husband, shane. don’t fall for it!!! stay strong soldier! like kent! 🫡🫡🫡
damn, was I that obvious?
I’m sorry it seems like you care a little more about mayonnaise than my beautiful blonde boy 🤨 clock the flair
My title and flair don’t define a lack of interest for my golden retriever of a husband.
Please let me know how to change my flair? There is my current one, or some frogs. That is all. Frogs are newer also. I’m fine on all other subs. Am using app not computer. :-) Also cool flair (although ewww mayo) I’ve still not… married Sam!!! But wouldn’t he eat all my pizza ?

You’re a star. Thank you! I never saw the edit button pop up before. Now I did and I’m so so happy. Thank you again.
Edited
Omg I’m so stupid. I found the edit button after all this time! Thank you.
np
Ohhhh yeah, it's pizza time.
I don't wanna marry a man though 😩
i gave her BREAD and she said this
Isn’t there a dialogue where she said she’s been eating a lot of bread?
What kind of monster dislikes BREAD
According to people earlier in the thread, the kind who has a gluten allergy.
Then why is she eating a lot of it???
I have no idea. Honestly I think there’s just so much dialogue that some of it gets forgotten at times. There’s also the problem of a lot of SDV players like to use SDVE but sometimes forget what’s base game dialogue and what’s modded dialogue.
I believe it’s a winter dialogue, implying that because its winter there’s not a lot of fresh produce available so she has no choice but to
Leah loves poppyseed muffins.
Then tell the people earlier in the thread
She has a gluten intolerance! Not really. Some people are just really picky about baked goods. The wrong texture can ruin baked foods for me not matter how good the taste is.
Buy her salad from Gus
happy cake day!
What's Gus doing with her salad?
Goat cheese and wine girl
"I don't know what I've done to you, but I'll take a pinot grigio" 🍷
I just give her driftwood lol, she also is one of the villagers that likes salmonberries and blackberries.
She's the girl that orders a Caesar when you go to a pizza place
[удалено]
She likes some of the universally-liked seafood recipes. Like trout soup and crab cakes.
“not salad?!? 🥗🤬🤬🤬🤬”
You gave her a meat galore, she likes veggie supremes.
She told you. her favorite part of living here is the natural fresh healthy foods. Of course she doesn't want a pizza, she knows you have her favorite mushrooms and you're withholding them.
I had the same with Sebastian. Gave him cheese and he didn't like it. Didn't wanna marry him anymore
I swear Sebastian likes cheese as a gift. Not loves like sushi, but still likes Edit: I am extremely incorrect lol Edit 2: it was COFFEE I gave him that he liked, not cheese. I feel marginally less insane
He loves void eggs and sashimi though - less resale loss for your farm.

Pomegranate for everyone. No one hates it.
Yeah I know, I just have a personal preference for cheese! \^\_\^ It's partially out of habit, since that's been my go-to for nearly 8 years now. You have to think differently. If she doesn't like pizza then there is more for yourself
she’s a ✨health girlie✨
Other than the poppy seed muffin, Leah does not like carbs.
While I understand your concerns - don't you dare diss my wife like that!!
I'm sure someone who has Gravity Falls wallpaper is worth courting 🌹
Harvey has been my bf for like a year now but at the Luau he asked me if I thought Maru needed help putting sunscreen on her shoulders. I am dumping his ass

for me she is a sorry for not letting you marry robin (she looks alot like her, but younger), but robin is so much cooler
It had pineapple on it
Leah was a great fit for me bc she lives super close, she loves goat cheese, and I already owned goats 🎯
Leah dislikes stuff like pizza and icecream, I don't know why.
Vegetarian/vegan probably.
She loves cheese though I don't know. Also absolutely not gluten free because she loves muffins.
Listen, I eat the pizza so she can get the salad that comes with it. We have a symbiotic relationship. What worries me more is that your monitor appears to be bent. Should probably get that checked out. /s
It's a curved monitor 😂
No, she hates pizza *as a gift*. There is a difference.
Perhaps she simply dislikes pizza from Gus' saloon (or made via his recipe)
Gus sells salad tho
the only negative thing of Leah T\_T
I tried giving her a poppy because her favourite food is poppyseed muffin and got the same reaction
Universally hated by everyone except Penny, who loves them.
Seriously? That's crazy lol What does concernedape have against poppies?!
I feel the same sometimes. She hates bread and pizza. A random dialogue reveals that she is so broke she has been eating nothing but bread for a while and it makes her sick now.
You're not playing fullscreen?
The game window is on a pretty big monitor so I prefer not to make it full screen
Maybe it make sense, never had a such a big screen
shes all about that salad man
Give that bitch a salad.
I wooed her by giving her driftwood so I never found out what foods she likes lol
She loves salad, salad is cheaper too!
Can't blame her, I dint really like pizza either
Salad.
She generally likes either fancy or healthy foods. Goat cheese, wine, salad, leek.
She doesn't hate pizza. She just doesn't like pizza pulled out the backpack stuffed with raw fish, monster parts, rocks, and sticks.
Not only hates pizza. But tries to bully you into agreeing with her.
Looking at her disliked gifts, I think its safe to say that Leah just has a gluten intolerance.
I've always headcanoned her as having a gluten allergy, since all or at least most of her hated gifts have gluten in them.
She also hates pancakes
marry her, then divorce her, when she asks why show her this
very pretty endgame 😂
She likes wine and goat cheese..
Something wrong with her tbh even bad pizza is good
Shakes head in that pizza she had in Ushuaia, Argentina, which even the sparrows would not eat from the rubbish bin outside. However I truly appreciate the sentiment and on the whole you are correct.
Please don't tell me you used one Shane sent you in the mail... How long has it been "out" after being made? Girl's got standards
THATS THE SAME REASON I DONT LIKE HER!! WHO LIKES BEER AND HATES PIZZA
Mate. You dont like her just for this????
I mean, that's allowed. Thats not unreasonable. You're being kind of weird.
I’m kidding ;~;
Salad, goat cheese and wine
I'll take the pizza
SALAD
I only give her salad and drift wood lol. Maybe goat cheese if I actually remember to save it instead of sell. She was my first marriage when I first started playing. I love her
She’s a salad girl
She also dislikes ice cream
Sebastian is always asking me to stock the freezer with pizzas…
I just give her salad everyday💀
Year 7 and married to her, did not know this lol…. I have been feeding her salads since I learned that was a favorite in the beginning haha. Some changes may need to be made here…
She likes beer, so that compensates
She's vegetarian and that pizza has pepperoni. I have a feeling she might like a thin crust supreme.
Salad. She loves salads.
To be fair it is pizza that was loose in your backpack
She’s the only one I’ve ever married.
she doesnt like unhealthy food
court her? what is this the middle ages?
Thought she mighta been gluten intolerant based on her hates & dislikes, but nope she loves poppy seed muffins. Guess she's just a pizza hating weirdo.
Leah is a vegan and the Pizza definetley has Cheese and some sort of meat on it. Sooo... she doesn't hate pizza she just doesn't like this pizza.
Marry Sam.
She's a health nut. Salads are the way. Pizza is too greasy for her.
Leah loves wine though so ... makes up for it.
*takes the pizza anyway*
I always think of Leah as vegetarian, and I always associate pizza with having meat for some reason. People say gluten allergy, but one of her loves is poppyseed muffins.
Leah irl: https://www.thehairpin.com/women-laughing-alone-with-salad/
This made me LOL
Leah js a terrible wife
:o to think I married her already
I just kept giving her sticks.
Marry Sam, he loves pizza!
I think she's Vegan.
Run
Pretty sure all the Pelican town pizza is the frozen variety, even from Gus.
Makes sense lmao, although for my first play through I DID end up using a guide to woo Leah 😭 I think when I start my new play through when 1.6 hits, I’ll marry her again lol (or Sam this time IDK)
Hippie art hoes. Not even once.
I gave her soapstone because text in description said that it is popular stone for carving. She didn't like that either
Everyone is sleeping on Emily, shes a clutch wife
You should burn her house down and ask her if she needs a place to stay and feed her pizza every day until she falls in love with you
That happened to me like 2 days ago lol. Who could hate pizza? Can't trust Leah anymore
I gave Emily a Jack o lantern and she disliked it or hated it, she made the jack o lanterns for the Fall festival and asked if i liked them. Needless to say I was confused.
Check the wiki before giving them things
She might just be vegan.
No she likes goat cheese. Since she really hates bread products she likely has issues with gluten.
She likes muffins though. I think she just likes light fancy foods and doesn't like heavy foods
Wait, my character had been married to her for 6 in game years and I never knew that xD.
Salad and wine
she’s bi, vegetarian and seemingly has a gluten intolerance she’s perfect
