It's called hold on in-game dialogue but I prefer to think the currency is gnocci. Everyone is just trading around potato pastas because they're delicious.
I've got over 250 hours in the game and this is the first time I noticed it wasn't actually Gil. Welp. Doesn't matter it's gonna stay that way in my head.
Dor the longest time it would just be "gold" an a lot if RPGs have currency in "g" as "gold coins".
Recently I've heard the term Gollars and it caught on for me.
I say dollary-doos in every video game to refer to the currency- Mario, zelda, sims, stardew ect ect... if it has money, I'm calling it dollary-doos lol
It's technically supposed to be "gold" but it gets confusing sometimes when I say that out loud because I could also be referring to the ore/bars made of gold, so I sometimes call it "gollars"; however, when I'm by myself and not speaking, I alternate between saying "gold" and "gee"
I mostly don't call it anything. Like, I'd say "it cost 225" instead of "it cost 225 \[insert a name\]"
But sometimes I'd just say dollar or "piastres" since I'm a from Québec.

I'm not the only one! Lol. I have played a ton of final fantasy games though.
It's called hold on in-game dialogue but I prefer to think the currency is gnocci. Everyone is just trading around potato pastas because they're delicious.
Man that is so much better than Animal Crossing's bells.
Oooh yes, love imagining pasta trading. That's gonna stick in my head.
grams
I struggle not to call it grams, lol
Geld. (German word for money.)
Wonder how many people are reading this as "jeld"
Hard g, like gold but with an e, is how I imagine it, but I don't speak or understand German
The g sound is made by putting the back of your tongue against the roof of your mouth and making a hiss sound.
Instructions unclear, have accidentally summoned a snake god 😁
Gold
Gold.
Gil, FFVII’s fault.
I've got over 250 hours in the game and this is the first time I noticed it wasn't actually Gil. Welp. Doesn't matter it's gonna stay that way in my head.
Gil is what I also default too for the same reason lol
Over here as kids we used to call it pesos lol (like local currency) but now I mostly say gold, or moneys if I wanna be goofy
Monies
Yesss. I call them monies as well
Gold
Gold
Lewis calls it gold at one point i think

I call it "Geld." I am German, and "Geld" translates to money.

Dor the longest time it would just be "gold" an a lot if RPGs have currency in "g" as "gold coins". Recently I've heard the term Gollars and it caught on for me.
Good.
My headcanon is that the currency is called Gold but it's actually paper money, Gold is just the name
I say dollary-doos in every video game to refer to the currency- Mario, zelda, sims, stardew ect ect... if it has money, I'm calling it dollary-doos lol
i call it Geld, which means money in german :D
guilders
For absolutely no rational reason I mentally think of "Gils", like the currency from Final Fantasy
I call it gold
To me its gollars
gollars
G's
Bucks, dollars, dollaridoos, greenbacks, etc.
Me and my girlfriend call them Goins
pesos
doubloons
Dollars. 😅 If I'm playing co-op I try to say "gold coins" to avoid potentially confusing it with gold the resource.
Pennies 😊 I think this could be a Scottish or NE Scotland thing? Like we refer to small amounts of cash as pennies 😊
I call them "monedas" (coins in Spanish)
Gold, or g for short
Gil. Played lots of Final Fantasy games so it was never a second thought
I call it moni or g.
i always just call it gold
I call it gold, or rupees (which is my country's currency)
It's technically supposed to be "gold" but it gets confusing sometimes when I say that out loud because I could also be referring to the ore/bars made of gold, so I sometimes call it "gollars"; however, when I'm by myself and not speaking, I alternate between saying "gold" and "gee"
i accidentally say pounds£ 😆
i switch between g, gold, and dollars
Silver
Dollars, rands, gold, gees
„Geld“. Well… I’m German and that’s what „money“ translates to…
Strap yourself in and feel the G’s!
I call it kroner because I'm danish and our currency is called kroner which translates to crowns
Its just g too (džii) in my language
sometimes i call it dollars lol
In the sub, I use "g", but I pronounce it "coines".
I think I call it cash
I call it gil because Final Fantasy was one of the first games I ever played that had money.
Dollars, but I'm British and call all currency dollars.. not sure this helps 😅
grams
Grams
Gold, moneys, and dwollas (silly pronunciation of dollars)
I switch between g and gold. Mostly g though
gold and G
I mostly don't call it anything. Like, I'd say "it cost 225" instead of "it cost 225 \[insert a name\]" But sometimes I'd just say dollar or "piastres" since I'm a from Québec.
Sperm. Inside joke, don’t question it
