The Jedi are going to feel this one.

AlmightyRuler

Sith 1: "...DUDE! WHAT THE HELL DID YOU JUST DO?!?!" Sith 2: "Wasn't me. I was meditating...about killing small children sure, but..." Sith 3: "Hey, did you two..." Sith 1&2: "WASN'T US!!" Sith 4: "WOAH! SOMEONE GOING FOR A DARK SIDE ACHIEVEMENT OR SOMETHING?!?!" <*Meanwhile...*> Fanatic Purifier 1: "Hey, did you hear something?" Fanatic Purifier 2: "Ya, that was the grinder. It struggles a bit sometimes, especially if there are too many bones in the species. It's old tech, ya know?" Fanatic Purifier 1: "Oh, ya. We should really develop a better way to get rid the undesirables. Like maybe a *really* big laser that...I don't know...blows up planets, or something?" Fanatic Purifier 2: "Ha ha, ya right. Next you'll tell me we should figure out space magic and laser swords."

3davideo

Neutron Sweep: Remove the people, keep the land. :)

ImJustStandingHere

I just realized that the reason the spiritualist FE uses neutron sweep is so it can get rid of any pops settling its holy worlds without hurting the world itself

3davideo

Well, without *permanently* hurting the world, it does have a temporary habitability malus from the sweep hurting the biosphere.

stad345

Thats why I do forced labor

Brandanimo

"If the bones get stuck, just use the long stick on the side to get rid of what's jamming it."

Twilight8385

You see that shredded thorax over there? That's Jeremy, he used his grappling appendages to pull out a bone that got stuck. Don't be like Jeremy, use *The Long Stick™*

Relationship_Main

Fanatic Purifier 3: why not just supernova the whole system? Multiple worlds with 1 shot.

QuicksilverDragon

hey, if you get bored of that, you can always do one pop challenge

Smeefles

For me that's just stellaris

Karnewarrior

Not having to care is the best reason to play Xenophile. \*sips space rum made on a planet with 123 species and 0% crime with one enforcer's office\*

Lildemon198

That works until you run into a hive mind. No matter how xenophilic you are, hiveminds gonna hiveminds.

Karnewarrior

Eh, you can make friends with them or you can't. It's a shame their collective cannot be added to your own, but with hundreds of species already in your borders, who cares?

Phoenix_Is_Trash

Nothing like using the wonders of genetic engineering to give a geslalt drone sapience for the first time in its existence. Enjoy watching it grasp the concepts of free will and individuality.

gisaku33

Then the single-celled empire genetically engineers all of the cells in your body to be individuals, and that's when the organelle empire comes in and-

Phoenix_Is_Trash

All of the cells in my body are individuals, my control over them is no more than the governments control over me. If my heart cells decides to go on strike I have no power to stop them. I have no idea what 90% of my cells are doing and barely have control over the central nervous system....

[deleted]

I feel like realistically, a drone from an actual hivemind would probably have an aneurysm and dje.

BeneficialComfort

second tier of bio ascension allows assimilating hivemind pops, so they won't

123456789-1234567890

Biological ascension lets one split off drones from a hive mind, turning them into fully sapient beings in the process. But yeah, normal drones go into stasis till they die if you don't do that.

poo1232

And that’s why I only play biological ascension

AlmightyRuler

That what Perdition Beams and World Crackers are for.

3davideo

Neutron Sweep: Remove the people, keep the land. :)

Sneezegoo

After taking planets from a hive mind in my current game the pops converted into normal pops over time. When I transfered some it would also usually glitch or something and all specialists/rulers would instantly convert to fill the jobs that were left after I had demolished everything. I thought all of them were going to die out but I ended up needing a shit load of jobs and houses real quick.

littlefriendo

***laughs as I have world with 200 people, no crime, 100% happiness and 100 stability with no enforcers needed :)***

Ariaceli

>deal with this Deal with what? Having pops?

I_follow_sexy_gays

Having a planet with 50 jobs and 150 pops due to refugees by the looks of it

[deleted]

[удалено]

I_follow_sexy_gays

Yes I understand purges, there are 150 pops being purged and 50 open jobs That means that 100 of those pops that are being purged were unemployed before they conquered the world

Dunkel_Reynolds

Not just pops...the WRONG pops

JoroA

Context: Medium size galaxy with as many AI Empires, Primitives and Fallen Empires as possible. This is one of the last few Empire capitals left so that is why so many refugees/xeno's are there. This is coming after a game where I had Safe Haven multi cultural xeno compatible empire game. This feels so satisfying as a result EDIT: Here is the last planet from non fallen empires [https://imgur.com/a/pdfJ0ag](https://imgur.com/a/pdfJ0ag)

personalistrowaway

Star wars level of species diversity.

MrCookie2099

David Brin's Uplift Universe levels of species diversity.

DrosselmeyerKing

This is one of the reasons I like Necrophages so much!

block_boi

Fellow Xeno Devourer/Purifier/Exterminator 🤝

Thelsong

Man, your pc must be begging you to kill it at late game.

Tigerdragon180

See I'm with you here. I hate dealing with the various pops and pops migrating to planets that aren't habitable etc....my current run I'm an aquatic (went all in for the ascension thing). Im authoritarian and I allow 3 other sepcies in my empire as slave races (all engineered to be prefer oceans so they work well with my main races obsession with making everything an ocean). It's nice....I saved humanity from extinction by buying the last 2 or 3 pops from the slave market after the purifiers took them out.

MokitTheOmniscient

I honestly wish they'd revert to the hard habitibility-cap for pops, so i wouldn't have to micromanage idiots migrating to tombworlds.

[deleted]

Always

NotagoK

I have such a hard time balancing employment roles and maintaining commodities that I've been playing nothing but Fanatic Purifier lately. I have such a hard time with balancing that shit D;

Motionshaker

Honestly same. I hate planet stuff so much I just bombard the planets into glass until I unlock the colossus. Hate the endgame list of crappy AI planets I have to fix

Professional-Lie-542

Actually made me pacifist lmao, except for stuffs like capitals or FE core worlds or megastructure systems I just stop conquering wholesale. It just ain't worth the empire size increase and the work you need to put in to fix stuffs.

smallfrie32

Gods yes. It’d help a lot for me, too, if it didn’t take forever for pops to repop a planet.

Atrovius

I always just release them as a vassal and make them give me a bunch of their resources. It's much less strain on the brain.

[deleted]

Its the manual work of insuring only the required number of pops are providing amenities... half the damn time I see my income drop like a rock only to find they decided to make amenities instead.

animalrooms

Turning off xeno comparability is the first thing I do when I start a game. Also I tend to not allow migration treaties especially if I'm playing without or plantoid with photosynthesis trait even if I'm a xenophile. Having specialized pops and adding super annoying pops really breaks the economy and is only really worth if you want that dank diplo weight from pops.

UpToMyKnees1004

>Turning off xeno comparability is the first thing I do when I start a game I do this for the sake of my framerate.

LHtherower

Lol I have it on because it is OP for Bio Xenophile empires :)

sumelar

It doesn't come back on between games. If you turn it off, it stays off until you turn it back on.

animalrooms

I know, I reset to default because I play by different rules when I play sp vs mp

StaniaViceChancellor

I think it also turns on if you reset to default

TheExpendableTroops

Barb-desp genetic route tho. All your species are become ours.

MidnightMadness09

I do love Despoilers. So nice when other empires grow the pops for you. My favorite is slapping a claim on a capital I no way intend to land on so the AI never concedes while I sap away their juicy workers.

TheExpendableTroops

That's brilliant and I've never thought if that lol. Even better now with Nemi, you can ruin them and create a massive deadspace of systems while looking their people. Maybe get some underlings while you're at it. Nemi even grants free raiding so BarbDesp kinda obsolete now, but still fun if you don't want to take the aPerk, especially if using giga so you can save to chain the bigger ones like birch or beam.

[deleted]

[удалено]

TheExpendableTroops

Barb-desp can steal pops from raiding. They effectively get a free CB on everyone and Nihil Acqui ascention perk in return for everyone not liking them as much and limited diplomacy. If you go genetic engineering you can nerve staple species. Free mindless workers.

BohemundI

Fre Min Wor

dragar99

You could always go synthetic evolution os you can just turn those other pops into your pops

Negerd

The only way to go when im playing xenophilic, less stress more efficiency

Darkwinggames

Why do people care about "wrong" pops? I play egalitarian materialist, assign everyone to utopian abundance and just let them do whatever. Purging pops is a massive waste of workforce.

Professional-Lie-542

Again, the same old tirade about how pops turn your computer into a failing nuclear plant.

sumelar

The number of total pops is not what they're talking about.

Darkwinggames

Unless you are playing on a laptop or with a dozen mods or until past 2450-2500, this is not the case anymore. The game does slow down, but it stays very playable for me.

Professional-Lie-542

Is playing on console faster than laptops? I don't have one, so can't tell. But yes, my computer is still very heavily fucked in the late game, to the point where I literally have to use the console command to fast-forward every month in order to save time on the animation.

golgol12

Zoom out until you can't see ships. It's amazing how much FPS is lost from trying to update ship positions so you can see.

MidnightMadness09

I hate being stuck with cybernetic pops I can’t assimilate, but their habitability modifier insists my planet grow. Or similarly pops with trash early game traits that spread everywhere that I don’t be able to fix for 50 years Finally, Ugly portraits. No I don’t want a boring Human/Elf/Dwarf, give me the Birb or the Shark, I’ll even accept the Fungus just no boring humans+.

sumelar

It's easier to have 1 species to worry about. 1 set of traits to modify, and you're done.

papapudding

Purity above all

SwagMaster1939

During my victory purifier run, I let all he refugees flee to one final planet (the wormhole gaia world with Psionic entity) then blew up all 300 of them with the colossus

Easy_Mechanic_9787

Same with being an Devouring Swarm

No_Research4416

Except you actually eat them

ArgoTheSpaceShip

Being one who's not fond of wasting good resources like this, have a certain tendency to play assimilators. Which for me is robot ascension and necrophages. Holy Zarqlaan I do love necrophages.

-Mursac-

Playing as the basic rogue servitor right now. I *hate* capturing planets because of the instant anarchy when the war ends; mass unemployment, and out of control deviancy. I had to start spamming organic sanctuaries and mass producing robotic pops so that I could do a near full population swap on each world. This is why I started pacifying planets. And also why I started neutron sweeping them when I decided I wanted the land. This game really does turn you into a psychopath, doesn't it?

_-Yone-_

This is a good reason to synthetic ascend, or play with necrophages/death cult. The species screen becomes so clean and satisfying instead of having multiple species with identical traits when you bio ascend.

ANuclearsquid

It does until you end up with a bunch of other species robots. Its less bad at least I guess.

_-Yone-_

Yeah, forgot about this one. Makes me wonder why you can upload consciousness but can't transfer it from one robot type to another. I guess It would be too expensive for the empire to produce so many advanced robots instead of updating the old ones or maybe its just an oversight.

danimalanimal2487

The corporate xenophile in me is hurting, but the criminal heritage in me still hurts. But my militaristic mineral focus subterranean race craves the blood of other in hopes of taking their minerals....... they are also corporate

IamCaptainHandsome

Driven assimilator is better, you absorb all the pops and they are immediately 100% loyal. If you find some primitive worls early game then it becomes a bit broken.

thethirdarchon

It's kinda a double-edged sword--yes, there's much more micro, and chances to screw that up/get that screwed up, with a multi-species approach, but also, it's the ONLY possible way to min-max truly for EVERY resource simultaneously. That is, if you're really truly the sort of mad lad who wants to try to get MAX possible yields for any given finite number of pops and places to settle them, you have to try to pair jobs to traits--which, admittedly, there's no in-game way to directly 1:1 assign pops to jobs, so the only real way to keep specific species doing specific kinds of jobs they're designed for is to use planet specialization and also population and migration controls. But it's absolutely theoretically possible--not typically WORTH the work, IMO, to get THAT efficient unless you're just trying to prove something to yourself--seriously DOUBT it's a practical strategy to maintain for a multiplayer game, you'd have SO much extra micro to have to worry about to maintain that specialization. Classic paradox for you--making genocide look like a mercy!

Theworst_gamerYT

You sound like you tried it

RontoWraps

Being xenophile? Straight to Jail.

dreyaz255

why did they have so few jobs available on an Ecu?

Racellos

Don't think it's actually an Ecumenopolis, any planet gets that background with enough pops.

Supply-Slut

It says tropical right there

breecher

Pops are power in this game. 151 pops could have enhanced your empire inifinitely. You are literally flushing them down the drain instead. How that becomes a "satisfiying result" is beyond me.

Chrischtel_

At this point of the game i think 151 pops don't really matter anymore. I did a playtrough where i put 600 Pops on a planet, created a vassal, released the vassal and declared a total war on him and cracked the planet just to reduce the lag. My economy didn't suffer at all plus my Laptop got a few °C cooler.

breecher

Anecdotes like these really needs some extra information like mods, year, settings all sorts of things before they become even remotely useful. In most vanilla games 600 pops will be a huge deal even in late game, so you aren't really disproving my point in any way, since you example isn't representative of that.

Chrischtel_

It was arround 320 years into the game, it was a 800 Star Galaxy. I was playing tall with 2,75 Ringworlds and a few normal worlds for Minerals mainly. I had arround 4500 Pops on All of my planets and Ringworlds. It Was all vanilla and my Ressources where full anyway, so I decided to commit a small little genocide on my own people. I mainly took them from my generator and agriculture Ringworlds as they had the most overcrowding. The only thing I noticed that changed Was that my energycredit income changed from about +6000 per month to about +4500.

1UnoriginalName

>The only thing I noticed that changed Was that my energycredit income changed from about +6000 per month to about +4500. Thats huge lol. Even if your at +10k or above it still wouldve been a decent loss Assuming all 600 wouldve been employed in technician jobs, without any modifiers, they wouldve produced 3.6k Energy. Late game with modifiers and proper planet managment they could pretty handily compete with 2 dyson spheres. Purging is pretty much never worth it outside of RP. Doing it to reduce lag is a seprate thing entirely, but even then its still quite a hit on the economy for at best a slightly faster game.

Dunkel_Reynolds

Stop, I can only get so erect.

Tayl100

They're playing a purifier, genocide is literally the only option.

breecher

That was literally my point.

block_boi

So,Don't have fun trying a new playstyle that isn't just "Xenophile materialist is the most efficient"? Okay...

kazookat123

Genocidal empires are very strong I don't think he'll be missing those pops.

NisERG_Patel

There should be a way to plug in those pops and get energy like Machine Intelligence.

kazookat123

You get tons of temporary energy from using the grid amalgamation slavery type I think

SevereSpoilers

Suffer not the alien.

sumelar

Bio pop growth doesn't stop.

Diogenes_of_Sparta

Then you are getting the least of what Stellaris offers, and it makes me question why you are playing this game and not one of the dozens of others that offers a much better experience in that regard.

Chrischtel_

Not all of us have great PC's that can manage the endgame lag. So some of us have to resort to [EXTERMINATUS](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ubNqUyf0op0)

Diogenes_of_Sparta

This depends on what it is you mean by "endgame lag". Most of the complaints tend to come from people demanding the game go faster when they could/should be doing more with the time given. Most people want endgame to run like the beginning of the game, and that is both unreasonable and stupid. There are ways to mitigate much of the lag, things like keeping most of the outliner closed, stepping down speed as the game progresses, not trying to specialize/'micro' pops, turn off wormholes and so on. My PC is high midtier, R7 5800x, 3060ti, 16gigs ram, ssd, and I run 1400 star systems with ~25 premade empires, max Marauder/FE/1x planets/.5 primitives, and heavily modded with several additional midgame/endgame crises and techs. There is slowdown, but it's very playable. It's certainly *nothing* like it was between 2.4 and 2.8. Dick really solved those issues.

HalfACupkake

> Not all of us have great PC’s > My PC is high midtier, there is slowdown but it’s very playable Dude imagine the slowdown on a "low midtier" or "high lowtier" PC then I had a 12Gb RAM, GTX1050, i5 7400, HDD desktop which was "midtier" in my opinion and on a vanilla 600 star galaxy and the game was running at 1 day/second with lag spikes (even worse lag on multiplayer) How about stop strawmanning people with your "most people want endgame to run like the beginning of the game"

Diogenes_of_Sparta

> Dude imagine the slowdown on a "low midtier" or "high lowtier" PC then Then change your settings accordingly. I specifically *add* a huge number of checks that *should* be 'unplayable' according to many. Which is why I stated the environment in which I play. >desktop which was "midtier" in my opinion Your opinion is skewed. You can already tell out the gate that Frankenstein build is poorly optimized. >even worse lag on multiplayer Obviously? Why would you set that aside as surprise? >How about stop strawmanning people with your "most people want endgame to run like the beginning of the game" How many threads do I have to link before it becomes no longer a strawman?

This_Site_Is_Ass

You just seem really mad people play as Xenophobes and Purifiers. I have a shit eating toaster of a laptop. I run stellaris on the lowest of low specs, its the only open program when playing, and I optimize everything to make sure nothing interferes. Yet I still reach almost the equivalent of other people's endgame lag by the late 70s if I'm lucky. Even when I don't alter pop rate, tech rate, habitable worlds, primitives. Xeno-Compatibility is always turned off. Sometimes 60 if I'm playing Xenophile empires like Megacorps. When playing on literal base specs the game is set to on install. On fast or fastest I was lucky if I got 1 day/sec by year 20-25. I literally have to play Xenophobes if I want a better, not lagged to shit time. I actively learned how to techrush and play near the bottom level of pros just so I could deal with the constant wars I have to fight even when Xenphile and set mid and late game to decades in advance so I could actually reach them instead of getting too pissed at the lag to ever get past mid game. So stop talking shit because people play differently than you.

Diogenes_of_Sparta

>You just seem really mad people play as Xenophobes and Purifiers. Which is always the common refrain anytime someone questions them. Look back at thread after thread. I'm not mad that you want to play xenophobe or purifiers. I think map painting in general robs the game of much what it's capable of. Especially when doing it purely through economy. It's the easiest way to maximize and abuse basically everything. When the sandbox is capable, and can be made to do, so much more. >I run stellaris on the lowest of low specs, its the only open program when playing, and I optimize everything to make sure nothing interferes. Yet I still reach almost the equivalent of other people's endgame lag by the late 70s if I'm lucky. Then play Empire at War or Sins of Solar Empire instead. Both are dirt cheap, have plenty of mods to bring the games "up to date" (at least as up to date as Stellaris is) and will hit your laptop far less hard and grant you a generally better experience for "kill/control everything". There are plenty of others, but I am personally a fan of both of those. > I actively learned how to techrush and play near the bottom level of pros This is much of the reason why I learned how to beat the game by ~2300 too. When lag used to be *much much much* worse than it is now. >So stop talking shit because people play differently than you. Where did I do that? Cause you seem to be going out of your way to find offense in something that wasn't said.

Abridgedbog775

I don't speak xeno

Diogenes_of_Sparta

Stellaris is mediocre at best at map painting. I can understand going that route occasionally, as there are stories to be told in that vein, but why you would choose it as only/primary is baffling.

Abridgedbog775

Because the God Emperor of Mankind demands it

Tayl100

Jeez, why so salty over a post about someone liking playing a purifier civic?

xgwwawxljw

Cuz he's a troll... I think... Honestly, I can't actually tell. I've just noticed that every time I see a painfully stupid take on this sub, it comes from that fine gentleman. Either he's a troll, or he manages to be wrong 100% of the time, which would be impressive.

Diogenes_of_Sparta

Because it's one thing to meme about it, but it's quite another to pretend that this is a *good* way to play. It's too simplistic and really misses out on much of what Stellaris is good at. Further, it leads people to then make stupid suggestions, or get frustrated because they don't understand how much of the rest of the game works since they have never had to engage with it. There is room for purifiers, but it's like Hivemends, a good place to start learning but far from the pinnacle.

block_boi

STOP HAVING FUN PLAYING FANATIC PURIFIERS111!1!1!!!!1!!

Diogenes_of_Sparta

That's a stupid interpretation of what I said.

block_boi

No,i completely understand what you want when you said Hive minds and FP's are simpler to play,I'm just saying blaming people who play them is ridiculous,as long as they're having fun nobody really cares

Diogenes_of_Sparta

> blaming people who play them is ridiculous I'm not "blaming" anyone. I think it's silly that people are not just advocating, but actively celebrating playing in the simplest way. It's like buying a brand new stove and then only making rice. Not even branching out to fried rice, just plain ol' white rice. Just save yourself the money/time/trouble and get yourself a rice cooker instead. Especially when those same people then like to turn around and complain because cooking rice is more difficult than it could be, and this one little change that just so happens to wreck a bunch of other stuff would make it better.

Beernuts1091

Or just turn everybody in to a robot.

Reflectivebionic

Damn right it is

sumelar

Not having to deal with what? Yeah, the purge system and the stability system are shit, but FPs don't have a monopoly on colossi.

MidnightMadness09

I mean, the planet has 100 housing, 58 jobs, and 151 pops. It’s likely OP means not having to deal with refugees flooding planets not ready for them/tanking their stability and economy.

bobeo

I have no idea how this system works in this game. Literally never seen this screen before oof.

Twilight8385

Agreed.

jannissary1453

And even better it fixes the LAG!

Fishy1701

What is?

VincoClavis

Mmmm, I can *taste* the unity.

BohemundI

Diversity is our strength

Kansas_ball

As a machine empire main, this one is pretty based

Fine-Afternoon-36

Pride wheel

Specialist_Growth_49

Im impressed how a Planet with its entire polulation being exterminated still has 5% stability. You would think People would be more upset about that. “It's a disgrace to us all! he almost screamed. 'We're letting them take us to our death like sheep to the slaughter!.....at least we could break out of the ghetto, or at least die honourably, not as a stain on the face of history!” ― Władysław Szpilman

hivemind_disruptor

I wish we could necrophage fanatical purifier. Now that's fucking OP.
