I think the rest of the rock isn't rock at all. It's sediment, or sand, featuring some other wind driven formations. I'm not sure the scale. Perhaps the original photo has something to indicate scale. Attached is an example of similar wind-driven sand formations on earth. I don't have a source for this. I'm sure some nasa geologist has written a paper on it if you dig deep enough. I don't feel like doing that. All of this is educated conjecture. I spent a lot of time in college looking at rocks and dirt. That by no means makes me an expert. The people writing the papers are the experts.

The wind on Mars is remarkably tame. There isn’t much atmosphere, so stuff is not eroded very quickly. Not saying that stone hasn’t been there for a billion years…I am merely saying that Mars wind is not the same as Earth Wind.
The thing is that completely ruins his point. It's like saying "excluding the fact that my car got in an accident, I don't see how it got damaged". the entire argument for erosion is wind over time, and if you purposefully ignore the time factor of wind, and only assume low strength then the conclusion of erosion is impossible when in reality that is the most likely explanation...

Depends how big it is and what it's made of. If it's very large than could be something interesting. If it's smaller it really could be just a rock shaped by sand in the wind. If it's made out of something other than rock or multiple layers of materials than that's a whole other thing
