Would definitely prefer if it was animated/CGI over live action actors. They should focus on one character story at a time and how the other characters may fit in that character's path.
> Would definitely prefer if it was animated/CGI over live action actors.
What we wanted: Sony giving this to the animated team who made Spider-Verse.
What we'll probably get: Sony giving this to the team that made Morbius and Madame Web.
Partially disagree. I do think it should have that comic book or rather be 3D CG with 2d effects but I don't think it SHOULD be like Arcane.
Would like to see their own take and have it's own identity when it comes to the art style.
Fair enough, I would take any style as long as it's animated!!! But Visually, Acrane was sick with a great story! The SF characters and art style is it's identity!!!!
This is a Legendary production. They’re in charge of a lot of things, but chief among them are Dune, the Monsterverse and Pacific Rim. I think that’s a good precedent
Anime? Let’s go.
Live-Action? Shit, I liked the recent MK movie and still wouldn’t recommend it. You’d need [Raul Julia](https://screenrant.com/street-fighter-raul-julia-m-bison-play-agree-why/) levels of nostalgia to win people over.
Honestly, hire a YouTube creator. The good live-action street fighter stuff is all fan-made projects.
This is way more camp than [the creators I was thinking of](https://youtu.be/OgXLxi23jaw?si=8S4i9w_lLOzToR82), but they’re clearly passionate, and camp is probably the energy to lean into with this loony-ass franchise.
It is technically possible to make a self-serious action movie about fireball throwing, shoeless, shoto hobos, psycho power vessel gorillas, and upside-down-split-spinning Interpol agents training child hackers how to kick good, but…good luck with that.
I think this would be a cool idea. To add, I'd like them to only be partial to the lore and take liberties to make a better movie/cohesive story.
Or.... Just recreate the chun li / vega shower fight from the original animated movie and make it a 2 hour epic night scene.
The duo has apparently been reattached to the project, with the revised release being 2 years out instead of 1 year, due to taking on a commitment to another movie. I wonder what's to stop them from taking yet another movie next year though. Hopefully there's something in the contract that binds them to this movie otherwise, find another director who can commit to it.
Alas I'm skeptical.
Street Fighter def has the potential for a great live action (and imho Assassin's Fist proved it), but I dunno if Sony and Legendary would be able to give it justice.
OMG Assassin's Fist! I gotta rewatch that gem!!
Skepticism is for me a very optimistic take, it contemplates the chance, even if it's minute, of being decent.
Sony and Legendary are not good signs. Depends on who directs it and how much control they are given. I would also like to know what Era of Street Fighter and who they are focusing on. There could be some good movies made, but we could also get some over crowded horrific mish mass of a movie. I stopped being hyped about things until I see a trailer and some reliable names attached.
i think this kind of stuff should remain in the anime world and nowhere close to a live action film..if it is the latter then highly skeptical given all the previous videogame to movie failures
High quality anime doesn’t bring in casuals. Capcom is going for the million to one bet here: there’s a huge chance the movie sucks and is forgotten, but they’re hopeful for the small chance it becomes a hit and brings in casual eyes (and money) to SF. An animated series, even if it’s much more likely to succeed, would also mostly appeal to fans only.
Personally I think it will be dog shit. Not animating it was a terrible idea.
I hope I'm wrong, but I feel confident that the live action movie will suck.
I would prefer if they have their own identity. and they have proven that already. Look at the intro for Word Tour. Very *street* like (no pun intended) and has that hip hop feel to it as well.
I don't much care for live action adaptations but the One Piece live action adaptation gave me a little bit of hope
Then again, we might just get another Legend of Chun-li
Street Fighter does well with anime! I'm interested to see what it does with the live action. I've checked out some shots and it could be pretty cool! I like a few live actions for manga series I enjoy so, a positive we'll see!
I'm always hopeful for any video game adaption because it's good for them all if something is good. Though the movie lost it's directors which had real passion for the material so that's unfortunate.
I think it depends. Monster Hunter is Capcom and was a flop. Even Resident Evil wasn’t great unless you’re looking for “good, bad movies”. And Capcom has gotten more and more aggressive with inserting advertisements and promotions to other Capcom related products in their stuff. Who knows. Maybe it will be great but I won’t hold my breath.
I'll be skeptical until I see the new director. It hurt to see RackaRacka have to pass on it.
But ultimately, if the fighting is decent and the actors give performances that have at least a passing resemblance to the essence of the characters, it will be a painless ~2 hours. I think we're past the age of BAD video game adaptations.
Very low expectations based on my track record.
* As a kid I loved the 90's live action because I knew no better, then in the 2000s I crapped on it like everyone did when Nostalgia Critic reviewed it, then came back to like it ironically because of it's involuntary humor and because I'm a fan of Raul Julia and Kilye Minogue.
* The SF II animated movie is probably the best iteration and my favorite thanks to what can be achieved with animation that live action has a hard time to make feel real the "magic" of SF moves. (plus the Chun-li Shower scene + Vega fight lives rent free in my head)
* the American Street Fighter cartoon is just a farmland for cheese and memes. It's fun just to watch 1-2 episodes for laughs, but it gets real old quicker the longer you binge it.
* SFII Victory was an interesting idea to elaborate on the lore of the game back in the 90s, but I feel it takes too much to tell it's story (plus at least the first 4-5 episodes feel like you're watching Ryu & Ken's honeymoon)
* The Alpha Movie is not bad, but not as good as the SF II animated movie. Fun Fact: You can turn this movie into a drinking game by having a shot everytime there's a close up of Chun-li's butt. If you manage to make it till the end not only you'll forget what the movie was about, you'll probably forget all SF Lore and very likely your own lore too.
* Street Fighter Alpha: Generations was meh. I barely remember it
* We don't talk about Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li, no, no, no.
* Street Fighter: Assassin's Fist is probably the best live action version of SF: it has great fanservice, the story is solid and the acting is just a good balance of decent and with the right ammount of cheese. Sadly it focus on Ryu/Ken/Gouken/Akuma, I'd love to see this kind of treatment with other SF Characters. This is what you get when you have true fans running the project rather than studio suits and nosey producers trying to "reach all demographics".
I don't mention the SFIV animations since they are tied products to the game, so they work better on it's own enviroment and context. same thing with SF: Resurrection.
I need to see a trailer or at least even some photos to decide if it's exciting news or if it's going to be another video game movie. Capcom and video game movies have both been on the top of their game lately. I hope this is good.
Live action street fighters have typically been pretty much garbage, with the 90s one at least being entertaining garbage.
I’ll see it, but I don’t have much faith in it ever being “good.”
Street fighter as an anime though has always been fun to watch for me.
Anything is possible. It could end up being well done. I just feel capcom hasn't given me a reason to have faith in their ability to provide proper storytelling with strong actors/dialogue and good effects. Hell, even their attempts at anime were lackluster (I didn't like the sf4 game anime). I am all about Capcom coming through to prove me wrong. In terms of story and lore, even SF6 could have been a lot more than what it currently is. Capcom really enhanced the overall gameplay experience and revitalized the brand. I want to believe they can do the same for the story and provide top knotch viewer experiences. Assassin's Fist shows that it can definitely be done, maybe using that as a blueprint can be a step in the right direction at least.
Highly skeptical. When was the last time they tried a live action SF, that Chun-Li movie?
Either way, would prefer an animated feature that incorporates the series' illustrated styles.
This might be a dumb question but is it live action or animated film (I’m saying based off this image I thought it was animated… please that clown me too hard)
Liveaction = shit. Every character looks goofy in liveaction except the ones with real proportions (aka chun li, cammy). I dont want another case of skinny ryu and ken like in van damns sf liveaction.
I’m dreading it. Street Fighter will never work in live action. They need to stop trying, I honestly hope it gets canceled. If they want a movie make another animated movie.
Skeptical.
I just hope that they don't make special moves like these big moments in the film.
I think it's one of my biggest gripes about fighting game movies. In actual gameplay characters are shooting plasma, dping and flipping across the screen constantly.
I said this in a different thread...they're going to make the main character a nobody who searches for the SF characters to train with in preparation for a tournament in Nayshall. It's way easier than trying to tell the actual story of Street Fighter.
Capcom has a terrible track record with adaptations. The Monster Hunter movie is atrocious. Despite enjoying the live action RE movies, especially the most recent "reboot," they are also considered quite bad. Now their CG and animated stuff are quite good, so it would be nice if they went in that direction. I'm not even skeptical, I have the lowest expectations, and I'll watch it.
I'm a bit of both, curious as to how the story would be if they are following the original of SFII with Bison or a whole new thing with the new(SF6) world warriors. Cause there are many possible story routes they can go with regards to the tournament (if there is one) and the leading protagonist Ryu (or Luke cause of new story).
If it's a movie like Assassin's Fist based on the SFII, has a good representation of all the characters (Like the animated SF2 movie), if it has Akuma in the story, and if there is Chun-Li fan service, I'm excited.
Zero faith. If it was animated, it maybe had a chance. Live-action? Hell no. Hollywood always screws it up because they never stick to the canon. It'll be nothing but another joke.
I hope it's at least bad in a charming way, like the original live action movie was. I can't imagine it being good, especially not since the original directors dipped out, and the only other thing after that is it being completely forgettably serviceable.
Guess no one watched the dumpster fire that was the recent MK. It started off strong with actual Japanese actors playing Japanese characters and then it immediately crumbled into stupidity. MK Annihilation was at least bad campy. That one is just bad bad.
I'm skeptical because I don't think most of what makes Street Fighter special don't translate well to a live-action movie. Guile, for example, his hair would never look remotely okay on a live actor, his special moves would look goofy coming from real people. Same for the shoryuken, or a sumo headbutt or a Blanka ball. I would pretty much prefer a high-budget animation or cgi instead of a conventional movie.
On the other hand, if they take everything that makes Street Fighter discernible (like the Van Damme movie made by tone down the characters appearance and the "special moves") we will be getting just a regular fighting movie, which would be just meh at best.
I'm only exited if they use their canon strength, these guys are over here destroying islands and carrying submarines, I also hope the fight choreography is good either way
the new Mortal Kombat movie was pretty good
the old Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat movies are similarly so bad they're good
so maybe the new Street Fighter movie will also be pretty good
VERY excited. Terrible or not I'm ready. Best case scenario it's legit incredible. but if it's the worst thing ever, I'm here for it too. Anything Street Fighter, sign me up.
This the one where they've already scrapped the directors with one horror movie to their name? I'm going to hate watch it just like every other Capcom movie. Not counting Street Fighter Assassin's Fist. Just give the guy who made that $70 million to play with.
very skeptical. With a few exceptions, Street fighter does not have a good story. This makes it very hard to use it for much other than the games. It's not IMPOSSIBLE, exactly, but I'm not holding my breath.
This movie is going to be difficult to get right first of all due to the size of the characters. Very few actors who can act are of the correct size required. Ryu has been shown as a tiny dude in every movie. See with MK the characters are more realistic so it was easier to find suitable actors. Who's going to play Zangief? Every male character needs to be roided out. I'm just tired of every SF movie looking like cosplay.
Whenever I hear about things like this I try to remain cautiously optimistic. I don’t want it to be bad, though I’m aware that video game adaptations have a pretty bad track record.
while i love movies... some franchises/stories/adaptations just dont work in a movie format, theres just not enough time to flesh out every little detail or story it has to offer, it usually works as a tv show series, but never in movie form.
the last trilogy that tried that was lord of the rings, (3 hours and 30 mins Feature films each). and thats the only trilogy that attempted that.
if you notice most movies never go above the 2h15m mark, and the ones that do (killers of the flower moon,Bladerunner 2049 respectively) almost every single zoomer that watched these movies say they were a "Drag", they couldnt stomach moments of realization or inactivity in these movies.
with people's (specially gen Alpha and zoomers) attention span of a gold fish, movie theaters beeing extremely expensive compared to just having a smart tv with a streaming subscription, i find this a very hard sell, nor will work.
just make it an anime, and people will watch it. seriously, its not like capcom hasnt done this before.
I have no faith in capcom movies. The monster hunter one sort off just faded into oblivion. I forgot it released despite them releasing the outfits in monster hunter world. Coincidentally, its the only outfit i don't own in world because I did not care enough to download it again. Played it again a few months ago and i was annoyed that my collection was incomplete because they lost the rights to their own outfits.
I’m just curious if they’ll opt for a Thai actor as Master Bison like the earlier games, or just cast anyone like the later games where Bison doesn’t have a nationality
Very skeptical. The only good video game adaptations I've seen are animated (basically just Arcane). Not that most animated video game adaptations are good, but adding the live action aspect only makes me even more skeptical.
Real Talk: My expectations are in the ground
The only Capcom Movie/Show in the last 15 years that was anything close to good was the Onimusha show & that was due to the involvement of Takashi Miike. There has to be a borderline miracle for this to be any good, I want that to be the case as I love SF but when only 2 of Capcom’s attempts at a show/movie have ever been good then it doesn’t install much hope for me
This would have... potential. If they make it animated (which I really hope they do) it could work and they already have a good reference to approach it. Look at world Tour and the intro for 3rd Strike. The walk in animations for the Versus mode. it has its own identity and could potentially be a very good animated film.
If its Animated it will be good. If its live action it sucks.
Every single goddamn RE animatrd movie is gold imo.
I suspect its cause Capcom are more involved
My expectations are nothing. I am hoping for a mediocre campy movie that's funny to watch but not actually good, similar to the recent mortal Kombat
I want it live action and I want everyone cast not by acting ability at all but purely by how many steroids they're taking.
Video game adaptations are starting to actually be consistently done rather well.
Street Fighter has absolutely been KILLING it.
Assassin's fist was the shit.so we already know it can be done without being shit..
Id bet on it being good if I had to wager.
The fact that they have a release date without a director or even a writer should inspire the exact opposite of confidence. I wouldn't be shocked if they need something to release in that window purely to hold onto the movie rights.
Best case scenario is they stumble into a cast and crew that manages to take lemons and turn it into lemonade....but the far more likely outcome here is we get something like the infamous Roger corman fantastic 4 or the upcoming crooked man hellboy film.
Seriously...don't hold your breath. This is likely to be an extremely paint by the numbers gun for hire style production.
Western made live action movie of a animated Japanese property. What do you think will happen? It’s gonna be awful in levels you can’t imagine. Didn’t they learn anything from the abomination that was Monster Hunter?
I hope they just embrace how bad the old ones were and make it a sequel to the old JCVD movie. Instead, it's starting his protege, Luke. Bison is back, but now he's a robot. Luke has to team up with miscast and poorly adapted versions of SF characters to beat Bison.
I can’t think of a harder way to kill a SF movie than by making Luke the protagonist. You’ll have guys seeing the trailer and thinking to themselves “he looks like that guy at the gym that takes up 20 feet of space so he can take selfies of his abs that everyone hates”.
There is no way to make a good street fighter movie. This series was never meant to have a storyline beyond a lone wolf's quest to fight around the world and become the strongest. it was written backwards because everyone wanted answers for everything. There are too many wacky characters they have to try and make work together and too many real world rules they'd have to overcome. The only way to make a good SF movie is to eliminate 98% of the cast and focus on one storyline but you'd just piss off people waiting to see their favorite character. I'd love to see a down to earth street fighter where they have no powers and maybe Ryu can meet a few of the characters to train with.
Oh... It'll be terrible.
Not even fun terrible like the original...
Although there's a chance they'll have a few mods to it lol.
SF2 anime... Let's just watch that again.
I feel like there was one that released a long time ago that was pretty cool. Couldn’t tell anyone anything about it. It was early 2000s, and I haven’t been able to find it on google or YouTube. Either I’m misremembering hardcore or it was a fever dream.
Skeptical. They won’t get any decent actors (the last SF movie had a past his prime Michael Clarke Duncan, the girl from Smallville who was almost in a cult, the at best 5th most known guy from American Pie, and one of the Black Eyed Peas as Vega). The story will probably suck (so it will match the games). Practically no one, especially the women, will be ripped. It will probably try to be serious so it won’t be as funny as the Raul Julia movie (though Chris Klein did his best in Legend Of Chun-Li (“he walks between the raindrops”)).
Best thing we’ll get from this movie is a battle pass with SF The Movie The Game OST on it.
In a world where most fighting games have terrible stories, Street Fighter is usually one of the worst. The anime's story was ass. The movie was so ass that it became a cult cl**ass**ic.
I'm not skeptical, I'm fully expecting the movie to be pure garbage, which means it'll either meet my expectations or surpass them.
SF in "Arcane" Nextflix animated series style would be amazing!
A SF project that looks like Arcane?? That would be absolutely peak
Naah. Let Arcane be Arcane. Street Fighter should be all about Graffiti. Let it have its own identity
You're right. What I meant to say was "the level of polish and artisanal detail present in the world of studio Fortiche."
Fully agree with this one
Partially disagree. I do think it should have that comic book or rather be 3D CG with 2d effects but I don't think it SHOULD be like Arcane. Would like to see their own take and have it's own identity when it comes to the art style.

I agree!! Epic animated film >>>>
Anime?
It's funny you say that because I believe the original director duo for this were YouTube creators?
They sure were, they got there start doing street fighter stunt and effects videos. Group is called raka raka.
See, I thought so. Thanks.
Who made a Srreet Fighter vid: https://youtu.be/P974Kdmz0Xo?si=FTX7w32qn3Kw5LS8 Stylized violence is sort of their jam.
This is way more camp than [the creators I was thinking of](https://youtu.be/OgXLxi23jaw?si=8S4i9w_lLOzToR82), but they’re clearly passionate, and camp is probably the energy to lean into with this loony-ass franchise. Hasn't been announced yet. Which is obviously a good sign.

A few years later..... Street Fighter 24 movie is out in 2050. The character roster finally reaches JP. XD
Always skeptical. That way I won’t be disappointed like ever.
Came to say this word for word lol
Expect disappointment and you’ll never be disappointed.
This is the way.
I had some faith when it had that previous directing duo attached. I don't trust Sony unless they get someone reputable to direct it.
They can't possibly make a *third* bad live-action Street Fighter movie.
The first one is honestly so bad it's good so i'll give it a pass idk what they were thinking with the legend of chun li
You’re correct, this would be a second one. Don’t you dare smacktalk the ‘94 movie and its Zangief (“Change the channel!”)
You got... paid?
I adore Raul Julia's M. Bison. I genuinely enjoy that cheesy SF movie.
Looking forward to Street Fighter: The Movie: The Game 2
Or they adapt the game into a movie. *Street Fighter: The Movie: The Game: The Movie*. The game adaptation of that movie will be lit.
3meta5me
YES! Waiting literally decades to play again with Sawada and Blade!
I think it will be terrible I can't wait to see it.
And cheesy as hell
Why would anyone be excited about a movie with no cast or director announced? A concept isn't enough for a movie
They had directors, who dropped due to scheduling. Directors of Talk To Me, indie horror hit out of Australia in 2023.
What, they dropped out? I thought this was their passion project. To me this doesn’t happen without them and if it does, I doubt it will be any good.
Skeptical, look would most people tore into the MK'21 film.
That MK movie in 21 was dumb for trying to shoe horn a character that doesn't even exist into best rivalry in the franchise.
I hope it doesn't disturb or influence too negatively on upcoming DLC characters Their choices are probably already made
i think this kind of stuff should remain in the anime world and nowhere close to a live action film..if it is the latter then highly skeptical given all the previous videogame to movie failures
Just do high quality anime as a series. Live action Movies wont capture SF properly.

Imagine if the team behind Arcane did a SF series? Damn
From the studio that brought you Madame Web...
I just want to see Cammy in live action
i expect it to be of bad quality but it can be very enjoyable regardless
i'm excited for its episode of The Flop House
I'm always hopeful for any video game adaption because it's good for them all if something is good. Though the movie lost it's directors which had real passion for the material so that's unfortunate.
Depends on the studio.
VERY skeptical, will it be almost as good as peak? (sf2 animated movie)
Skeptical only because it’s based off a video game series which doesn’t always go to well
I think it depends. Monster Hunter is Capcom and was a flop. Even Resident Evil wasn’t great unless you’re looking for “good, bad movies”. And Capcom has gotten more and more aggressive with inserting advertisements and promotions to other Capcom related products in their stuff. Who knows. Excited, tho it being produced by Sony Pictures is a huge turnoff

Please don't. I don't want another dragon ball evolution
Skeptical. Fighting games work the best as animated feature. OG SF and OG MK are outliers.
Skeptical for now. Will have to wait and see who is directing, the cast and what the plot will be like.

Rock bottom expectations

Real action movie? Unless they do something like what Tony Gilroy did with Star Wars - Andor, it's gonna be good for the memes but nothing else.
I am hoping it's an adaptation of street fighter 2010 from the NES featuring our favorite scientist, Ken Masters.
Live action street fighters have typically been pretty much garbage, with the 90s one at least being entertaining garbage. I’ll see it, but I don’t have much faith in it ever being “good.” Street fighter as an anime though has always been fun to watch for me.

They still trying to do this 🤦🏾♂️
Highly skeptical. When was the last time they tried a live action SF, that Chun-Li movie? Either way, would prefer an animated feature that incorporates the series' illustrated styles.
Excited, I'm so ready for the cast to see what kind of story we're getting, curious if we'll get an SF2 story or something with Luke
This might be a dumb question but is it live action or animated film (I’m saying based off this image I thought it was animated… please that clown me too hard)
Yes.
No thanks! Wait, who is producing it? Sony? Double no thanks!
would be more excited for an anime or animated movie. Dont know why people get such hard ons for live action since it rarely translates well
Liveaction = shit. Every character looks goofy in liveaction except the ones with real proportions (aka chun li, cammy). I dont want another case of skinny ryu and ken like in van damns sf liveaction.
Skeptical, but I'm sure it can be a fun movie, even if it isn't good necessarily
I’m dreading it. Street Fighter will never work in live action. They need to stop trying, I honestly hope it gets canceled. If they want a movie make another animated movie.
Wha- tell me you’ve never seen assassins fist without telling me you’ve never seen assassins fist.
Skeptical. I just want to see what Sakura will look like
Give the rights to Fortiche and let them do their magic
Skeptical. Video game live action movies don’t have the best history.
Yes.
Very skeptical
Quick! Change the channel!
id like to know anything about what theyre trying to acheive with this particular movie
If it's not animated, I don't want it.
Both. It has so much potential but they could mess it up like they did with the Mortal Kombat movie.
Live Action, so completely disinterested.
Skeptical; no matter which franchise it’s for, video game-based movies have a one hot movie every 10 movie average
If Akuma is in the film, they will make him more evil than Bison. Same with Zangief. It will depend on if the filmakers are fans of the franchise
I'm only exited if they use their canon strength, these guys are over here destroying islands and carrying submarines, I also hope the fight choreography is good either way
the new Mortal Kombat movie was pretty good the old Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat movies are similarly so bad they're good so maybe the new Street Fighter movie will also be pretty good
VERY excited.
Skeptical, remember how “Legend of Chun-Li” turned out…..
I hope Hakan, El Fuerte, and Cyber Akuma are in it
very skeptical. With a few exceptions, Street fighter does not have a good story. This makes it very hard to use it for much other than the games. It's not IMPOSSIBLE, exactly, but I'm not holding my breath.
its gonna suck but I hope it has one cool moment or line that we can meme
Skeptical until further notice
On the fence.
Only real life action please you can do it spend some money on actors and the budget
Was excited when the Phillipou brothers were attached. Now that they've left, I'm leaning more toward skeptical.
Both
Real Talk: My expectations are in the ground The only Capcom Movie/Show in the last 15 years that was anything close to good was the Onimusha show & that was due to the involvement of Takashi Miike. There has to be a borderline miracle for this to be any good, I want that to be the case as I love SF but when only 2 of Capcom’s attempts at a show/movie have ever been good then it doesn’t install much hope for me
Everyone will think it's all about sexy Cammy when it will actually be all about sexy Guile and Cammy will only get 5 minutes of screen time.
Skeptical but I'm hoping at least choreography would be good
This would have... potential. If they make it animated (which I really hope they do) it could work and they already have a good reference to approach it. Look at world Tour and the intro for 3rd Strike. The walk in animations for the Versus mode. it has its own identity and could potentially be a very good animated film.
Probably gonna suck ass, but I'm open to being surprised.
Im almost always neutral/open and lean towards skepticism or optimism , depending on contributing factors.
If its Animated it will be good. If its live action it sucks. Every single goddamn RE animatrd movie is gold imo. I suspect its cause Capcom are more involved
My expectations are nothing. I am hoping for a mediocre campy movie that's funny to watch but not actually good, similar to the recent mortal Kombat I want it live action and I want everyone cast not by acting ability at all but purely by how many steroids they're taking.
Where can I get this SF group image used in the post at a high enuf resolution to add to my fight stick? Would love an link
Just make Sawada play Akuma to make Capcom very happy.
Just like in ranked matches i just go in with zero expecatations, that way i won't be disapointed at worst and be positively surprised at best.
Video game adaptations are starting to actually be consistently done rather well. Street Fighter has absolutely been KILLING it. Assassin's fist was the shit.so we already know it can be done without being shit.. Id bet on it being good if I had to wager.
I don't even think about it at all.
I don't care about game adaptations or most of the film industry atm.
Make Van Damme play Guile again.
Skeptical do say the least.
Both
The fact that they have a release date without a director or even a writer should inspire the exact opposite of confidence.
Just give it a fucking cgi movie like resident evil and tekken 😭
Western made live action movie of a animated Japanese property. What do you think will happen? It’s gonna be awful in levels you can’t imagine. Didn’t they learn anything from the abomination that was Monster Hunter?
Won't be able to top "Change the channel!!!"
That's exactly why it's a good idea. It needs to be faithful to the old SF movie.
In before Ken is black
Anime only fuck a live action
Oh... It'll be terrible. Not even fun terrible like the original... Although there's a chance they'll have a few mods to it lol. SF2 anime... Let's just watch that again.
It's gonna be shit just like the rest. Why can't we get anime. It would fit street fighter more and won't be limited at all
I don't expect it to be good, but it will be entertaining with some decent action I'm sure.
Let’s be real it’s probably gonna be mediocre
If it’s a high budget movie then I’m all for it. Cause just Imagine a great actress like Margot Robbie playing AKI 🫣🫣
capcom has always had a bad track record with movies and tv shows
Ron Perlman as Guile Milla Jovovich as Chun Li Tony Jaa as Ken Ruby Rose as Ryu Watch the box office explode
I feel like there was one that released a long time ago that was pretty cool. Couldn’t tell anyone anything about it. It was early 2000s, and I haven’t been able to find it on google or YouTube. Either I’m misremembering hardcore or it was a fever dream.
Street Fighter: the Legend of Chun-Li came out in 2009 https://youtu.be/HM5ckPdT0o0 It wasn’t cool though
Pre 2009. I wanna say it was somewhere from 03-07.
Already written it off.
An anime series would be vastly superior IMO.
Anime only fuck a live action
In a world where most fighting games have terrible stories, Street Fighter is usually one of the worst. The anime's story was ass. The movie was so ass that it became a cult cl**ass**ic. I'm not skeptical, I'm fully expecting the movie to be pure garbage, which means it'll either meet my expectations or surpass them.
