After 2014 there was an option for electronically adjustable suspension. XT 1200 Z and XT 1200 ZE. The latter having the nicer suspension. If you can get a good deal on one I would try and get one of these.
Well, I think those are the same boxes I have as well. If so, that’s about $1200 of box and mounting. Name escapes me at the moment. Main thing I might check are the valves. At 90k I would want them done. I’d check the frame too for rust. Looking at cycle trader that seems very high though. Could be just me. Newer models with less mileage are going for the same or cheaper. And by less I mean 50k less. I’d probably keep looking.
Looks like Jesse boxes, front fender extender, aftermarket seat, air dams (just above/behind front turn signals), Givi crash bars, highway pegs, aftermarket driving lights mounted to crash bars, and some aftermarket hand guards. It is a non-ES (electronic suspension) model. Make sure the cruise control works, the valves have been checked, and ask about ECU flash and rear spring change (depending on rider weight).
The Super Tenere has a reputation for durability along the lines of a blacksmith’s anvil. Ride and Enjoy.
Brother its a tenere
Reliability is going to be the same for any given year 2014+ saw the addition of cruise control and revised fuel mapping and new gauge cluster
Thank you 🙏🏻 I’ll probably look at the 2014s more seriously then.

I think new cct design as well. The new cam chain tensioner can be fitted to gen1 bikes as well
I have a 2014 and love it. No issues and bought it in 2015 still new in a crate. Basic maintenance and care and it should run forever.
How would you respond to the 2014 photograph with 90,000 miles and $7k asking?

Jesse was the name. I have a set of the larger ones and love them.
That’s too high, I see them regularly for that price with 20k miles
My 2012 has gotten a smooth 38,000k and counting! And I’m very hard on it lol
They are all very reliable, 2015+ have the upgraded timing chain tensioner, the only i heard fail on a tenere!
I have a 2016 2014+ is absolutely the years to go with.
