I work in the music hip hop industry. The artist I work for has a few songs with Busta from back in the day. They’re friends. Most of these people are from the slums, and have been homeless or have seen extreme violence, & have lost loved ones due to violence or poverty. They are more familiar with poverty and unfairness than most. Even in their fame, they try to maintain their roots and be humble. That’s why guys like Snoop can walk into the violent hoods of LA today and still be extremely respected there. A regular Joe can’t do that. Their histories of growing up are very complicated, and sad. That’s why they’re rooting for people like us. They actually understand what it’s like to be f*cked over by the rich masses.
