Low Volume = implies future high Volatility either to the Up- or Downside

Strike Price vol has been trending downwards today.
Short vol remains the winning trade in the short term.
Therefore, given the data, the best trade to make on open was short puts, given the slightly stronger probability for a rip up come market open as strike vol is decreasing, realized vol is decreasing too
Thus you could see some price pinning, or perhaps some sluggish melt down as appetite for long vol decreases affecting demand, removing GEX off the table, reducing price support from dealer hedging
I don't have the latest data in front of me (I'm at work now), so I can't say what's next but read the report, it says what I was looking at this week
Waiting 3 years for another swap cycle while they walk it down the entire time? I suppose GME might actually do something with the 4 billy in the meantime but we probably won't see them do anything this year as it seems RC believes the macro conditions are fucky, as we all do.

IV is stated as measuring volatility, and on days where things move upwards really violently, but if you track overall volatility like the VIX, it's basically correlated with "market go down; VIX go up" and "market go up; VIX go down."
It's more of a fear or uncertainty gauge, IMO. For individual stocks, the IV usually follows a similar pattern.
Plus the harder it gets pushed, the tighter the spring.
Volatility about what though? If you track an index over time and draw a trend line, it will be sloping up. Volatility about this trend line is what's being measured. It's not a case of price up = IV up, it's a case of how noisy the price movement is around this trend line. The vix increases as markets go down because this will always represent a departure from the trend line. Where's a similar size movement upwards instead of downwards would be closer to the trend.
mine just crossed under $30, and now I'm saving up with an alert at $20 and at $18 to buy more. I want to try to match DFV cost basis, buuuuut that's gonna take like 200 shares @ $22 so we will see.
Looks like a juicy entry point for DFV to load up on some calls! If Biggy's theory is correct, we should look for big blocks of call buying today or tomorrow
Thats the first thing I thought, but correct me if i'm wrong, according to his theory this would indicate that there has ALREADY been a large purchase (maybe in pre-market???)(call contracts) and that the sudden drop in price is indicative of a MM internalising the order.
According to Biggie's theory this can be determined by an unusually high number of orders in the options chain, and if its DFV he theorises that this will be demonstrated through purchases of blocks of 1000 or more.
If this is the case, then it kicks of a cycle and we should see upward price action within that cycle. Didn't he say that the cycles were T+13 ??
EDIT: it just dawned on me, that all Id have to do is look for block purchases of 1000 or more on the options chain, and then copy the purchase, to emulate DFV's strategy ???????????!

Put in your limit order for stupid money and see what it does. Best thing that happens? You get what your limit order was set as. Worst thing that happens? Nothing--it's a limit order, not a market order.
