They cut it off before the group of female officers take him into custody in the back of a van, he smiles as the doors close with him in handcuffs and the van speeds away.
Some can do well over 100kmh, and this might have been one of them. They're legal for private use in Australia, but this was obviously not on private land.
In Sweden, I have to wear a helmet if im sitting on my motorcycle to move it a meter in the garage.
But itâs perfectly fine to ride one of these fucking things at like 70kph in your underwear.
Law just hasnt caught up with the technology sadly.
In part likely because of how bad the older politicians are at technology and adapting in general.
That's not always a bad thing. In my state they were really slow in creating legislation which meant lots of people bought them and were using them all over the place, so they couldn't exactly ban them. In other states they did ban them, even though they're a great form of transport for many.
Youâre saying that like the alternatives are âno rulesâ or âban themâ.
It is fully possible to just say âanything over X = helmetâ or âany over X effect = helmetâ
Yes⌠I understand⌠But regulating and banning isnt the same thing.
If you lower the speed limit from 100 to 30 on a stretch of road, youâre not banning the cars.
Or, if you add a requirement for a seatbelt on an ATV or some shit, youâre not banning the ATV.
I don't think they're arguing against regulation, they're just saying that since one place banned them outright, showing the willingness of some officials to do so, that it's good when communities spring up too quickly for that to be as viable of an option for officials elsewhere.
Governments do exactly two things well: destroy stuff and overreact and the tendency of the Karens in the world when faced with something they don't like is to demand they/it be outlawed. A large community that enjoys the object of ire and which uses it daily is better suited to argue for some middle ground that lies short of an outright ban.
I only blew my mind the other day when I realised some countries go 0.000.000 and not 0,000,000.
Thought you were saying 12 ar15s and my dumbass was thinking of a *really* long gun.
Recently saw this video of one that can go 150 km/h (93 mph) and the driver had managed/dared to do 0-100 km/h in about 9 seconds.
Well, that's what he claimed anyway, but it seemed to do OK versus the Tesla in the video, though it had trouble keeping its front down.
Even the slowest Tesla, M3 SR, goes 0-100km/h in 5,3 seconds. Compared to what electric engines are capable of, 0-100 in 9 seconds isn't all that fast. What makes it ridiculous of course that scooters are inherently an unstable vehicle, and definitively shouldn't be going anywhere above 25. Faceplanting at 150km/h does not sound like a great time
The electric engine was probably able to perform better, but it becomes difficult to continue when your scooter flips over due to all that power in the rear wheel.
I literally just got one a couple days ago that goes 55 mph, would never consider running from a motorcycle cop though lmao. Maybe a cop in a car and if I knew the area really well... His looks like a slightly slower model than the one I have, possibly a Yume Y10 but it is a common frame style for these types of scooters, so it's hard to tell.
They can but that doesn't mean they should.
If he crashes at 100km/h (or even hit some hole with this small scooter wheels) he have no protection, no saefty pads, no helmet, no airbags he's dead
Here's the original footage at normal speed so you can hear what's being said. The scooter dude kept telling the police to "go away!" :D ... and at the end said "I've gotta go to work!"[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aNnq83cNWX8](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aNnq83cNWX8)

"A man who was high on meth when he fled from police on an e-scooter at speeds of 100km/hr offered up a bizarre excuse for the stunt as officers caught up to him."
as we can see on the speedometer it really was 100kmh but HOW??? that thing was tuned for MotoGP
He was roughly going 60mph-ish? You bump over a rock & youâre dead!!!!!!!!!
Omg heâs insane. Yep. Iâd have to be high AF on meth too. Feeling invincible & confident AF.
I had a flashback to Road Rash and was thinking that cop needs to pull out the chains and kicks. Then he actually did kick him off his scooter and all was right in the world
This feels crazy to say, but getting a motorcycle is a much safer and better option, assuming you want to go 60mph on a highway.
If you want it to ride as a pedestrian, just get any normal electric scooter that doesnât go 60mph on 8â wheels.
Where I am there's no way to insure a privately owned electric scooter, so they take it off you for lack of insurance. The rental ones all have insurance
Only hurting himself? If a car on the motorway swerves to avoid him then that put dozens of people's lives at risk.
He also drives erratically and at speed on pedestrian footpaths.
This guy is a danger to anyone and everyone around him.
lol the stupid video is being played with 2x speed, at least. it's quite obvious when he turns onto the smaller street. source: physics.
also they could have just kicked him. :-)
It's possible that's the case, but once you get comfortable on a scooter, you can do some pretty wild stuff at high speed. Could be a combination of both.
There was plenty of opportunity, after the guy pulled off of the highway, for a simple push to end the âchaseâ. Just a little oofa, and into the weeds you go
They did it right. Block him and force him to slow down, then kick him off once heâs not going a dangerous speed. Same in a car, force them to slow then you can ram them or cause a low speed crash to end the chase.
Itâs not permitted in most states to engage in high speed chases with motorized bikes because of the risk of death to motorists and pedestrians. This is just stupid.
UK police as here are trained and permitted to collide with bikes to stop them. The rate of thefts using mopeds in London has reduced by more than 60% as a result.
And any state who does not permit chasing illegal high speed motorized bikes will see a sharp increase in illegal high speed motorized bikes and also an increase of them being used in criminal cases. Telling people that they can literally just use that form of transport to get a free get away card is kinda stupid.
Should have pulled up along side him and booted the arsehole off.. Could've killed a child on that path. And as for riding like that on a public road!?? ... Pure wankery!
The range of the scooter at those speeds is bound to be much less than the motorcycles, so it was just a matter of time, as it wasn't able to outrun them.
Going onto bike paths that are illegal for motorized vehicles was his best bet. Too bad cops are free to break the law. Rules for thee but not for me..
Presumably the first road is a limited access highway, which means vehicles that donât meet specific requirements are not permitted to operate on those roads. A scooter that does not have turn signals, brake lights, etc is likely to be disallowed.
They have pathways for bikes
I knew we have parks with this but this was OFF A FREEWAY
That's great
Getting to the local bar that's a mile away is easy.... In America we gotta drive because you gotta cross 2 major intersections and there are only 2 entry/exist from the subdivision you live in
Did he really think he could escape on that scooter when he is being chased by two police motorcycles? That fool just increased his trouble tenfold with that useless escape run.
Okay, but what was his crime?
Because this chase is extremely dangerous for bystanders, the cops themselves and even the criminal.
I really hope this is all for a good reason and not just, âhe was driving erratically, so we decided to triple that danger by joining in ourselves.â
I believe most highways have âno bicycles, no pedestriansâ posted which this would fall under. It might (or might not) be safe on straight-always, but he would be almost impossible to see at on-ramps and off-ramps. A small rock or poorly patched pothole could also send him headlong into traffic. Youâre fine on the scooter, until youâre notâŚ
Them cops are putting themselves and others in dangerous situations. Why. Just so they can give him a ticket. Come on guys get a F##king life. Itâs not worth it.
I feel like I was watching an original Mad Max car chase where they just speed up the film to make it seem faster.
Or a Benny Hill short perhaps
The entire time in my head
No joke. I turned the sound on, hoping to hear "Yakety Sax." Needless to say, my disappointment is immeasurable.
They cut it off before the group of female officers take him into custody in the back of a van, he smiles as the doors close with him in handcuffs and the van speeds away.
You could play that at a funeral procession and I'd laugh my ass off
Came here to say this
![gif](giphy|djpJtTSwsSodyb7xBj)
Now I've got the music in my head
We need the Benny hill theme tune for this one lol đ
Several scantily clad women running amok and we may have something here
I AM THE NIGHT RIDER
They needed to use their police lasso
Yes! I feel the same way.
I had no idea those scooters would go that fast!
Some can do well over 100kmh, and this might have been one of them. They're legal for private use in Australia, but this was obviously not on private land.
Wowza đłđŹ

Youâre saying that like the alternatives are âno rulesâ or âban themâ. It is fully possible to just say âanything over X = helmetâ or âany over X effect = helmetâ
No theyâre saying itâs harder to ban things when thereâs a community for it.

I'm American, how many bph (bananas per hour) is this?
Approx. 500,000bph. 1,000,000 bananas is approx. 118.6 miles.
That's the length of 12.000 AR-15s worth of football fields and one monster truck!
I only blew my mind the other day when I realised some countries go 0.000.000 and not 0,000,000. Thought you were saying 12 ar15s and my dumbass was thinking of a *really* long gun.
100kmh = 60mph. 1.6km = 1mile
>100km = 60mph. 1.6km = 1mph That hurts my brain. Thanks.
They canât they just sped up the video (I think so at least)
Yes they can. I've seen some scooters that go 50mph+
Thatâs bananas!
Dang thatâs crazy
Yeah I can see that, but I meant it can go fast enough to warrant 2 moto cops going after em
I think so most definitely myself
Fairly sure that is a Kaabo Wolf King, if it's the [GT Pro model](https://www.kaabo.com/wolf-king-gt/) it has a top speed over 100km/h, 62mph.
electric motors can have crazy powerdensity... once you remove the software limit youre free to unleash it.
Some can go pretty fast even without "tuning". Look up Slack Core 920R for example. Top speed 147 km/h

My nami klima can go 42 mph with a 0-30 of less than 5 secs.

Just as I fucking suspected
100kmh = 60mph For reference
He was roughly going 60mph-ish? You bump over a rock & youâre dead!!!!!!!!! Omg heâs insane. Yep. Iâd have to be high AF on meth too. Feeling invincible & confident AF.
Nah that scooter had suspension and inflated tyres, they can handle off road terrain and are pretty stable, even at higher speeds.
pretty stable til you go flying off the front of em
Jesus Christ! 100kph?! That's nuts for a scooter.
I was rooting for him
With those driving skills he should try a real get away vehicle
He's level 500 driving a level 1 vehicle.
Activated New Game+ but got full infamy before getting past the default scooter you get at the start of the game, classic case of overconfidence
Why was he running?
He was late to work
I can't believe this is not a joke but the real reason he gave lol
![gif](giphy|28Nev3k184A9PdSDCg)
*scooting
Because he is, what we colloquially refer to as, a scrote.
I think he had some very illegal things in the backpack
Why were they pulling him over in the first place?
I had a flashback to Road Rash and was thinking that cop needs to pull out the chains and kicks. Then he actually did kick him off his scooter and all was right in the world
Iâm downloading it đĽš
I couldn't believe how graceful that moment was!
Sounds like the rewind scene in Spaceballs
Skip past this part. I factâŚ.never play this part again.
This is an ad for the scotter
Where do I get one of those scooters? Not saying I want to run from the police but that thing hauls arse.
This feels crazy to say, but getting a motorcycle is a much safer and better option, assuming you want to go 60mph on a highway. If you want it to ride as a pedestrian, just get any normal electric scooter that doesnât go 60mph on 8â wheels.
Anywhere really. Minimotors does some (dualtron X does 110km/h stock), and there are plenty other brands
Itâs called the Wolf King GT
Illegally modified.
Check out the Inmotion RS. It goes 60mph+ and is a total beast. Extremely well built too, and has amazing suspension.
I dont understand why he didnt just use the paved path in the first place?
Not allowed high speed electric scooters on the footpath
Non rental electric scooters are not allowed on the road or the pavement
I don't understand why rental scooters are treated differently, are they slower?
Where I am there's no way to insure a privately owned electric scooter, so they take it off you for lack of insurance. The rental ones all have insurance
I give the cops credit. After the first pull away, I would have Sparta kicked his ass off that flipping thing
fyi like Newton said every action has an equal and opposite reaction, plenty of videos of people on motorbikes kicking things and falling over
Insert Benny Hill theme
Why was this so hilarious to watch đđ
the teeny tiny getaway vehicle perhaps
The perp needed a black mask like the robbers in A Christmas Story.
The video was way sped up which made it seem more intense.
Once he endangered those pedestrians when passing them with high speed, the cop should have kicked him into the fields.
Seemed like a lot of close calls with other pedestrians/cyclists on the path to take down a guy who was only potentially hurting himself
A scooter doing 100kph hitting a pedestrian or cyclist is not just hurting themselves.
I bet you're one of the people who say "why can't I drink and drive, I'm a good driver when I drink" Because it ain't just you on the road....
Yep they should of kicked him off a lot sooner
Only hurting himself? If a car on the motorway swerves to avoid him then that put dozens of people's lives at risk. He also drives erratically and at speed on pedestrian footpaths. This guy is a danger to anyone and everyone around him.
Unless he veered into traffic... he was high on meth so there is the potential...
Bad boys bad boys...
lol the stupid video is being played with 2x speed, at least. it's quite obvious when he turns onto the smaller street. source: physics. also they could have just kicked him. :-)
It's possible that's the case, but once you get comfortable on a scooter, you can do some pretty wild stuff at high speed. Could be a combination of both.
Just give him a kick
There was plenty of opportunity, after the guy pulled off of the highway, for a simple push to end the âchaseâ. Just a little oofa, and into the weeds you go
They could easily kill him. Cops dont tend to have high iqs
Just kick him off it. It's ok.
What a dumbfuck
Do you think there is a parallel universe in which he was able to escape?
Thereâs one where he died⌠https://youtu.be/z1wO-kUrWs0
wrong type of scooter, bicycles and scooters have to stay on the side of the road not change lanes in front of SUVs
At first I was thinking, "what in the fuck is this guy riding?" Then I realized the vid was being played at like 10x speed lol.
Why didn't they just knock that stupid fucker into the weeds. I was really hoping for that
You can tell this is England cuz heâs not dead and the cops are dressed funny
Is the right solution to force an accident here?
Cops dont know right for wrong which is why theyre cops
They did it right. Block him and force him to slow down, then kick him off once heâs not going a dangerous speed. Same in a car, force them to slow then you can ram them or cause a low speed crash to end the chase.
Who here was cheering for him and hoping he got away?
Was really hoping he got away haha
Aside from the exaggerated 1.75 speed to make it "edgier". Lmfao
We just shoot in the us

Canât let a guy go to work?
How do you know he's going to work? He could be going to buy new kicks lol
My boy was dippin
I heard the Benny Hill Theme in my head all the time...
Cue up the Benny Hill Theme
Good scooter he has there. I go 50mph comfortably on mine but will never do the freeway unless I had one that does 70.
scooooteeeerr broootheeerss
All my respect to the officer for not start punching.
I believe this individual may need to appear in court due to an unpleasant encounter with the police
I was (hoping) /thought when the one cop came up next to the guy, heâd kick him off the scooter.
Was it speeded up? Didnât look quite right. Expected to see some benny hill dolly birds in the chase tooâŚhaha
Free bird playing in the background
The range of the scooter at those speeds is bound to be much less than the motorcycles, so it was just a matter of time, as it wasn't able to outrun them.
Going onto bike paths that are illegal for motorized vehicles was his best bet. Too bad cops are free to break the law. Rules for thee but not for me..
The sped up chipmunk talking đđđ
Looks like he requires âtactical contactâ
Is that a Turbo Ant scooter? Those things boogie!
Police should be allowed to bump his ass off and then run him over repeatedly
Lmao. Have to be honest the dude is flying. How is that thing going so fast like that đ
Con lo fĂĄcil que es derribarlo... A mĂ no me torea ese individuo...
Definitely the best scooter chase Iâve ever seen.
Bit of fun strangling at the end
Repost bot
He is good!
Was that like in Germany or what?
I couldn't be a cop, I be jobless in less then a week.
Sus dientes contra la barandilla
A very dangerous chase on a foot path, passed a lot of people out for a walk.
What law was being broken by driving an electric scooter off the side of the road?
Presumably the first road is a limited access highway, which means vehicles that donât meet specific requirements are not permitted to operate on those roads. A scooter that does not have turn signals, brake lights, etc is likely to be disallowed.
He did that on a WHAT
Wtf was he thinking running away !! Muppet
They have pathways for bikes I knew we have parks with this but this was OFF A FREEWAY That's great Getting to the local bar that's a mile away is easy.... In America we gotta drive because you gotta cross 2 major intersections and there are only 2 entry/exist from the subdivision you live in
âŚwhat do they have to do? Catch people speeding on scooters?
Did he really think he could escape on that scooter when he is being chased by two police motorcycles? That fool just increased his trouble tenfold with that useless escape run.
Lol!!! Itâs like a Benny Hill skit!!! LOL!!!
the difference in power is incredible
I love how you can hear the guy say as soon as heâs pulled over âI gotta go to work!âđ
Watching it in real speed, it feels like the cops wanted a joy tbh, they could have ended this way sooner.
cause driving those motor bikes down the walking paths wasn't dangerous to anyone on there...
The sped up audio makes that R1200RT sound hilarious.
Some video that is very obviously sped up: Redditors: đ§
Okay, but what was his crime? Because this chase is extremely dangerous for bystanders, the cops themselves and even the criminal. I really hope this is all for a good reason and not just, âhe was driving erratically, so we decided to triple that danger by joining in ourselves.â

I believe most highways have âno bicycles, no pedestriansâ posted which this would fall under. It might (or might not) be safe on straight-always, but he would be almost impossible to see at on-ramps and off-ramps. Just push him into the tall grass
I expect this to lead to a Reddit complaining that their Uber Eats order was late
That one SpongeBob song goes hard here
What a pos
Wow these cops deserve an award for patience
That was kind of fun to watch, considering everything else going on in the world.
That footage is sped up so much they should have Yackity Sax playing
Chasing him on that path on their bikes is WAY more hazardous to others than him scooting
Yes it is. If they had severely injured him with that kick it would be even worse.
Ghost Rider is back?
Thereâs murder and shit happening in the country but the police go after someone riding an escooter. SeriouslyâŚ..?
Now let's see the cops chase a WEPED SONIC going 160km/h
There are 220 cm computer case fans >.>
Pigs put so many lives in danger because this one guy put his own life in danger, can't have that! F pigs
I was more worried about the bystanders tbh
Ftp
Honestly very skilled riding
Honestly it's way more dangerous to chase him onto the trail than to just try to catch him down the road and watch for him next time.
Cops are stupid
e-scooter on a highway: OH NO, BIG CRIME!!! 2 motorbikes speeding on a bicycle path: very fine
Has to be in Australia or New Zealand.... The bikes look like NSW popo or NZ!!! Any thoughts on where this happened?
Them cops are putting themselves and others in dangerous situations. Why. Just so they can give him a ticket. Come on guys get a F##king life. Itâs not worth it.
