I know right? I was hella impressed by his reaction. My dumb ass would've probably kept looking for some dry wood to pry him away from the gate as per electrical safety guide I've read ages ago lmao
- give **motorbike** to **electrocuted man**
- *I cannot do that!*
- push **motorbike** to **electrocuted man**
- *I cannot do that!*
- walk to **Infinix**

That movement is certainly an involuntary reaction. I've been electrocuted multiple times. It must have an effect on the electrical impulses in your brain because everything just kind of scrambles. Imagine an air horn going off in both ears, a strobe light going off in your eyes, and every single muscle in your body completely locking up all at the same time. You have zero control. He likely evacuated his bladder and bowels from this extended shock.
the electrical current will make your muscles spasm which will lead to you gripping stuff. Thats why it seems that people that get shocked grip even tighter around whatever they are holding. They simple cant relax the muscles anymore.
You can do something similiar in physical therapy with therapeutic electrical devices. If placed correctly you can make the muscle contract which will look like an involuntary jerk. Its fun to show it to students as they will find it interesting and pay better attention.
Ah yes, transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation. I'll occasionally use one for back pain. I use it on the highest setting. I've seen others try it on high and fold up like a pretzel, lol.
That's a brand of TENS machine. I've actually never heard of that brand before, so it's certainly not synonymous in the way that "Tupperware," or "Weedeater" are. We are talking about the effects of electricity on muscles, that is why I used the full name instead of the acronym. May I ask why the fact that I tried to make my statement as clear as possible and show how it is relevant to the topic at hand in bothers you? additionally, how would using a brand name that not everyone has heard of be a better way to get my point across?
Yes, many. Playing with a socket when I was a kid, touching the inside of a lightbulb in a lamp that broke but was still plugged in, touching a cattle fence, and tackling my brother who was being electrocuted by a 220v dryer cord that had a cut in it. That's just as a kid. As an adult I was shocked many times by a livestock fence, loads of times from a stun gun as my friend and I used to battle with them, many times from a line trimmer with a janky spark plug wire, twice from faulty cords, once from a 220v stove outlet due to a mislabeled breaker and not checking it with a tester, once from accidentally stapling a dead line to a live line, and god knows how many times changing out live plugs and fixtures because sometimes It just happens in construction. I'm sure there are loads more but that's what I can remember off the top of my head.
Edit: Most of these are due to sheer stupidity.

Well, annoyingly, "electrocuted" can now mean "shocked", including when it isn't fatal. This despite the fact that "electrocute" was (obviously?) created as a portmanteau of "electric" and "execute". So it's no longer wrong to speak of somebody surviving electrocution.
This is how our language progresses. I won't be going along on this one, though.
Weird because I’m 30 from Michigan and haven’t ever thought of the word “electrocute” to inherently imply death. I’d use shock/zap/electrocute synonymously. I wonder why.
It definitely makes sense, though. I’m not surprised it’s a specific word for a specific type of death. My dad is a contractor too and wires a lot of different things that I’ve been around so I’m surprised I never made the distinction!
Thank goodness for the good samaritans of world and this gentleman is definitely one. His quick thinking and ability to stay calm saved another person life!
I was watching some electrical lineman videos and this came up. Electricuted means by default to death, if you didn't die, you were shocked.
Although, the oxford does include injured or killed.
verb
past tense: electrocuted; past participle: electrocuted
injure or kill someone by electric shock.
"a man was electrocuted when he switched on the Christmas tree lights"
Yes but it can be assumed you mean to death. As that is the definition and most used way of description. I guess you could at least rearrange it to say, “a dude does not die from electrocution.”
I'm not exactly an expert in electricity, but once he's off the fence he's no longer conducting the current, so I believe it should be safe to touch him.
Quick thinking, fucking genius

Sounds like you have had multiple electric shocks, electrocuted is death or severe injury.
Oh my, I just looked it up and electrocution always means death. I have never been electrocuted, only shocked. You learn something new every day!
It feels you've wronged Zeus somehow and he is slowly getting is revenge.
That was baller that he used his scarf or whatever to save him. I would’ve been too dumb to think of that. Deffinently scary
In the future I'll have to remember to use my shirt then. I learned something new today.

A *towel*, says, is about the most massively useful thing an interstellar hitchhiker can have
That’s one cool frood!
Hoopy
Also, "Don't forget your towel!" -Towely
It’s called a gamchha. It’s very common among indians to use that in hot weather.
Went from Casual Nut Adjustment >> Saving Friend's Life in an instant

Life story of a Chad
The Duality of a Chad
It ain't the jaws of life, it's the balls of life!
Love the moment where he goes to touch him, and then thinks: "Nope... Better not do that"
electricity finds the shorter path so he would possibly be fine
Path of _least resistance_, not necessarily the shortest one. It also doesn't necessarily only find _one_ path. It's definitely still very risky.
**Actually,** it explicitly does not only find one path. The correct saying would be finds every path inversely proportional to the resistance.
Correct. I didn't want to get fully technical
Yes, so possibly he would be fine, also possibly he wouldn't :P
He almost “closed shop” permanently
The best kind of strangulation here
This is why you should never forget your towel

Wow that guy is smart, brave and strong. Also a hero. Crazy one moment is standing there scratching his balls, next he saves a life.
Fast thinking holy fuck! ![gif](giphy|ytTYwIlbD1FBu)
Dude almost screwed up too! What a good dude

Smart and quick thinking.
What is shocking him?
the prices of Mars bars these days for one
Lol
As opposed to being electrocuted to something else?

I do not like this.
Lets say it comes from electric and cute instead, I mean look how cute he looks as he is spasming
Weird because I’m 30 from Michigan and haven’t ever thought of the word “electrocute” to inherently imply death. I’d use shock/zap/electrocute synonymously. I wonder why.
Ah, OK. So, not obviously. But that's what it is. (Or was.)
It definitely makes sense, though. I’m not surprised it’s a specific word for a specific type of death. My dad is a contractor too and wires a lot of different things that I’ve been around so I’m surprised I never made the distinction!

Damn, that’s clever- I dunno if I would’ve thought of that
You don’t have to say electrocuted to death that means death. It’s like saying I was assassinated to death. :)
Yes you do, you can be electrocuted and live.
I was watching some electrical lineman videos and this came up. Electricuted means by default to death, if you didn't die, you were shocked. Although, the oxford does include injured or killed. verb past tense: electrocuted; past participle: electrocuted injure or kill someone by electric shock. I heard the same from my electrician friend.
Yes but it can be assumed you mean to death. As that is the definition and most used way of description. I guess you could at least rearrange it to say, “a dude does not die from electrocution.”
he did take a hard hit to the head
I'd rather take a hard hit to the head than being turned into a big bunch of burnt flesh.
Yeah, can you grab him once he's pulled off of the fencing or is he still juiced?
I'm not exactly an expert in electricity, but once he's off the fence he's no longer conducting the current, so I believe it should be safe to touch him.
smart and fast reaction.
The one time that grabbing someone by the neck and pulling probably helped to save their life.
r/WatchPeopleSurvive
The lack of governmental safety regulations for stuff like electrical in this part of the world is fucking terrifying.
At least nobody is stealing from that Shop.
I would panicked and take the bike to slam into him
Damn, props to dude with the quick thinking and action
Excellent fast thinking what a save, so I learned I could take off my shirt and do the same.
Not his first rodeo
Saved by a fucking sash
Damn, I was thinkin "bro you need something to grab him with...oh hold up use the scarf!!" Then he used the scarf and I was YES!
If this was taken out of context you would think this guy was brutal AF, but nah
Electrocuted means “to death” already. Don’t need to add “to death”.
Dude saved his life! Awesome
Poor water on him so he doesn’t catch fire while being electrocuted
what a fucking baller
Imagine if he broke his neck, what a hard time explaining the police xd
u/repostsleuthbot
ofc it's infinix
He was about to pay for electricity... WITH HIS LIFE!
Imagine if the dude broke his neck instead /s
From electrocution to near concussion. Dude almost received r/worstaid from ball scratcher
“-cuted” means “to death”
