It's a Tower Defense game, spell it out. Only so many towers can be thought of. One thing having something similar to an older thing doesn't automatically mean it's a direct copy. It's so childish to see it this way.
Yeah, sure, it is similar to other trap-laying towers, but here's the thing, it will interact with enemies much differently than those other games' trapping towers do.
BTD6's health system is based off of individual layers, which the spikes can weaken down.
TBZ's Trapper interacts with certain enemies in different ways because the spikes can do more damage to bigger enemies.
TDS's future trapping tower will interact differently because the enemy system is very linear. Enemies don't have "types," they only have more or less health than others, and only move faster or slower than others. My speculation is it will have electric spikes that slow enemies, which is an original idea compared to other TD games, especially considering the blue engineering outfit the trapping tower is wearing.
By your logic, TBZ and TDX would both be ripping off the Spike Factories from BTD because of the mines. Yet you seem to have no issue with those? And plus, TDX is really really young compared to TDS, TBZ, and especially the BTD series, INCLUDING BTD6. You could say TDX Juggernaut rips off TDS Minigunner, you could say TDX Ranger rips off TDS Soldier.
TD games are going to take ideas from one another, you and every other TDS fan should understand this by now. Nothing is a "rip-off" unless it's basically just a carbon copy. If it has variations in the way it works, it is not a "rip-off," it is an original tower with individual systems and interactions.

Also I tried the new tower and honestly it ain’t that bad. The only thing I gotta say though, it needs skins because the one it has right now doesn’t really fit the whole zombie apocalypse vibe.

The new tower gonna be either absolutely op or the shittiest release ever. Like most tower defense game have these kind of mechanic. For example in tbz, the trapper is absolutely dog water, make it one of the most forgetable tower in the game, In tdx, mine layer on release was not that good, but the moment they buff it, it got stronger at dealing with boss. Here another one, btd6 spactory (not really roblox but who care), on release top path spactory is one of the worst upgrade if not the worst in the game, more than 100k and cant do crap and then there bottom path spac which is really strong in insta kill BAD and clean up ceramic. (Srr for the bad english)
another OP case can be El goblino from th, he can stun for 17 seconds and can deal 20% dmg to anything if you use his ability (let’s say there is a boss with 1M hp, when you use it they will have 800k)
