There’s a daycare on Milton St. in Levy Park called Sunniland Nursery & Preschool. I live nearby. Do NOT send your child there. I hear the women yelling at the children, and I hear babies screaming all day. On rare occasions, I have heard the sound of slapping. Maybe the daycare worked were slapping a mosquito off themselves. Maybe they aren’t mistreating the children and children just scream a lot. I don’t know; I don’t have any. But I would not allow some random daycare worker to yell at my child. They don’t have to talk to kids like that.

I worked there in the early 80s when I was a teenager. A few years later I enrolled my son there when he was an infant because we lived on Milton. The owner was young and hands-on back then. If it’s the same owner, she needs to shut it down and retire.

We go to Trinity UMC Preschool downtown and love it. My son started there at 12 weeks and will be in VPK this year. My other child went ahead 1.5-5 years. It’s a loving, nurturing environment and my kids are always genuinely happy to be there. The teachers are communicative, engaging, and willing to help especially through regular toddler things like potty training and tantrums! The only downside is the hours for age 2 and below are 7:30 - 1, they can’t stay for the afternoon. For full time options. We have many friends who have used First Baptist Weekday down the street and have been very happy there. It they give breakfast and lunch and I believe it is around $800 a month for an infant. They are open on many state and federal holidays as well. I’ve also had friends put their littles in Ivy Hill, creative preschool on Tharpe, and Growing Room. I encourage you to try to take tours if you are able. It’s always a tough search finding the right fit for your baby! Best of luck!

Growing room and Scottsdale Academy are two of the best traditional/non church preschools in town.

FSU Childcare Center is very good, but it's closed when University is closed. YMMV
