Market Square to shop local, Total Wine and ABC if you don't care. Market Square on Timberlane is within a few blocks of Total Wine and they have a chance to have something interesting and they're just good people.

GulfCoastLaw

Market Square is the correct answer. The employees are helpful and it is near 1-10. Win win.

Fishboy9123

Thank you, I'll hit it up

New-Difficulty-9386

Total wine is by far the largest selection in town

mamakat45

I second this.

SaltyChampion308

Market square liquors is where I go

Forsaken_Royal5221

Market Street Liquor. They have some knowledgeable staff that can help you

ginger_kitty97

Ology is a local brewery/distillery that currently has a small batch white rum. I don't know if any of the liquor stores are carrying it, but I think Total Wine carries their stuff.

theswolypreacher

They also have a Florida Rum that’s a blend of different aged rums that’s really good

GulfCoastLaw

Good option to gamble on!

FloridaPlanner

Total Wine

OldSouthGal

Second this.

sparkledtoast

Capital Liquors on Mahan has a nice selection with pretty good prices, not sure if they have anything super unique though!

uncreativecapybara

My favorite rums are from a distillery in Sarasota called Siesta Key - they sell them at our Total Wine. Otherwise though I am 1000% a Market Square Liquors (as everyone noted, the one on Timberlane road!) fan, they are great.

juwyro

Ology has some pretty good rums. They have white and barrel aged rums.

elcapitank

Market Square…or Costco

Fishboy9123

I was wondering if the Costco there sold liquor. Do they ever have anything interesting?

elcapitank

They will occasionally have some unique bottles, but for the most part, they just sell tried and true brands. The Kirkland brand is always a safe bet too. I’m not super particular though, so…

Klutzy-Library-3843

Best option at Costco is zacappa. They have the 23 and centenario. I'd go with total wine. If suggest Dos Maderas 5+5, Real Macoy. I've got more but I'll get carried away listing them haha

Fishboy9123

I actually have a really solid rum collection, but when I travel, I'm always looking for obscure bottles. I'm mostly into mixing rums and tiki cocktails. Have you seen Coruba anywhere recently? I've been out for a while and can't seem to find it anywhere around me.

Klutzy-Library-3843

Never heard of that one. I had to look it up. I would call around and check the local stores. I feel like whiskey drinkers have the majority in this city though

Fishboy9123

No worries, they do everywhere.

typicalmillennial92

Market Square Liquors or Total Wine

No_Hedgehog_2381

Have a verified and certified rum afficionado in my home. Everyone says market square.amd it's a good place to check but for good rum total wine has them beat. Even ABC off of Thomasvile road south side has somewhat interesting one offs compared to everyone else.

OpencanvasNOLA

As others have suggested Total Wine. My favorite producer is from Puerto Rico, Baralito. Their two star is great for anything mixed and their three star is delicious neat or with over ice with a little lime. Yum.

kcnole78

Total Wine has the best selection in town.

Laylasita

I love rums. Flor de Cara (Caña) and Pilar are my favorites. My parents love Cruzan (they lived their as teenagers) and Appleton. Update us as to which rum you buy.

No_Hedgehog_2381

Flor de Cana 18 is fantastic.

I did. Auto correct trying to sabotage me. I personally like the 7 year over the 4 and 12 years. You can tour the factory in Nicaragua. I know someone who went and liked the tour. What's your favorite rum?
