That’s incredible! I have to believe no one else has this many albums surpassing 1 billion streams this year? Or am I mistaken?

asecretwomenssociety

I would highly doubt it considering she was the top streamer every single day this year minus a few days here and there when people released new albums.

ZealousidealVirus358

Yeah, not a lot of currently popular artists even *have* 11 albums, and the ones that do probably don’t have fan bases that stream their earlier albums as much as Swifties stream hers. I would imagine that most popular artists’ streams are probably more heavily weighted towards more recent releases than Taylor’s are.

good_hard_fun

Most artists don’t have 11 albums

Rhoades13

No way anyone else has ever had more than maybe 3-5 albums reach a billion in a year. The old record for Spotify streams in a year was 20.5 billion by Bad Bunny last year and probably most other than Taylor is maybe 15. Been awhile since I saw the total but think Taylor has around 25-27 billion this year already and will get another 3-4 billion over last 40 days of this year.

ZealousidealVirus358

Interesting to see Debut’s streams are so low. Fearless and Red are higher, even though many of their would-be streams are going to the Taylor’s Versions instead. Debut has no Taylor’s Version yet to steal streams from it, yet it’s still below albums that do.

ozgun1414

the time will come for it to shine. lets be patient and watch everyone else regretting their decisions to avoid that album.

StnMtn_

I am waiting for the TV of the debut album or listen to it. I think with her maturity it will be even better.

dobsco

I think some of it is Spotify bias. If I just put on Taylor shuffle, I never ever get a debut song! I really think there's a lot of bias in these numbers because Spotify more or less dictates which songs come up for you if you have the free version, and they definitely favor the more popular albums.

paperm3rmaid

Spotify shuffle is garbage lol

clonedhuman

Taylor Swift has a better marketing/public relations engagement with her fans than any other product on Earth. It's really quite amazing from a commercial standpoint.

asecretwomenssociety

She’s absolutely going to become a standard for research among others who wish to follow.

Vladd88

I think the problem with “the next one” is that it can’t be reproduced, her authenticity is absolutely part of the appeal.

klcna

I can agree to a certain point. I personally think that there are some people already using her as a bit of a creative blueprint. Olivia Rodrigo definitely comes to mind. She has her own style but she has potential to become big as well if she can prove to have the same stamina and passion as Taylor over time.

asecretwomenssociety

Cruel summer is expected to get between 1 and 2 billion streams ALONE next year... insane.

kalekalesalad

How is this the best album but so low 😭

Sampleswift

So we are seeing big hits to streaming for Red and Fearless original, which are signs the Taylor's Version project is working. Also it's interesting both versions of Speak Now coexist (1989 TV occurring so recently explains why it and the original do) at over 1 billion streams.

SwiftlyIntrestedFr

This truly is Taylor's Year

thegreatsmore

she’s so powerful

Proud3GenAthst

You know what's interesting? For how she breaks records almost every day, often related to streaming, Taylor doesn't have a single song among top 100 most streamed songs on Spotify. Why do you think that is?

klcna

Most definitely the fact that she took all her music off Spotify for three years starting with the release of 1989. I would imagine people who wanted to listen to her music even chose other listening platforms for a long time after that stopped being true based off of this. People have finally migrated back over now that she's a main relevant artist again but I think for a while she was dominating more on iTunes and Apple.

Proud3GenAthst

Wasn't she the most followed Spotify artist despite taking her music off of it? That's quite impressive. But then, it's still pretty surprising, considering that in the last year, she's gotten next fucking level of popular and she'd catch up quite quickly at least somewhat.

klcna

Absolutely, also, I do find the album artist label really accurate for her. Other people get known for certain songs in particular and then the public all focuses on that one song making it have huge streaming numbers where fans of Taylor really diversify and listen to her catalog as a whole. It takes longer for her to get to the top but once she does she'll be coming with multiple songs. Not one big breakout single.

Proud3GenAthst

I also got the feeling. But then, there are many many people who don't think very highly of her craft because they only know few of her most famous singles when she's infamous for tendency to choose some of her least inspired or original bops. Ironically, that's what I like her for the most, because I need some pop representation in my streaming collection and given language barrier and being unlikely fan, I'm not appreciating her lyrics very well.

klcna

She's definitely known for her lyrics and being a poet but I agree with you completely. I think the real "secret sauce" that she possesses is she raw talent for creating unique and catchy melodies. You can't buy that and it's harder than people give her credit for. That and she has the ability to not make all her melodies sound the same and just repetitive meaning that she's always bringing something new to the table and pulling in new fans every time she makes new music.

GodConcepts

I love seeing Speak Now (Taylor's Version) getting all the love it deserves <3 It's my favorite album, and the vault tracks really make the album feel complete. It really feels like a underrated album because it isn't really included in the Eras tour (and movie) + doesn't have a top "1" crave + doesn't really have some "iconic pop culture" moment with it if that makes sense. \-Fearless had the grammy win + love story/you belong with me blew up a lot on tiktok + iconic clothing being country \-Red has the amazing hype of the " all too well 10 minute version" + so many pop bangers like we are never getting back together + I knew you were trouble + 22(Its a huge fan favorite, as emphasized by how many songs there are of it in the Eras tour) + iconic clothing being Red lipstick + bangs \-1989 Is a pop bible and probably her favorite album + best performing album + iconic clothing being short hair \-Reputation redefined her brand + had sooo many iconic moments(look what you made me do) + reputation tour was a huge banger + lots of her songs blew up on tiktok also (ex: don't blame me) + iconic clothing being her hair + dark/edgy clothing \-Lover is getting lots of love with cruel summer. The man + Lover are also huge fan favorites. iconic clothing her pink-hair tips. \-Folklore& Evermore got a lot of craze, especially folklore: They introduced her to lots of new fans + folklore won album of the year + cardigan and willow got the number 1 on bilboard + champagne problems and exile are HUGE on tiktok + eras tour craze. Iconic clothing being her wearing the cardigan + hair in braids \-Midnights with anti-hero + lavendar haze and karma being all huge hits, bejeweled is also super streamed on tiktok. Iconic clothing being the glamorous clothes she's wearing now And then theres speak now.... It doesn't have any iconic clothing moment(its quite hard seeing a photo of her and knowing that happened in speak now, many confuse images being either fearless or Red, compared to lover/1989 which is easily detectable by the hair). It doesn't have any number 1 song + any defining iconic moment for it :c So it really does warm my heart seeing it being streamed more than other albums, in such a short period of time! It's beating Red(TV) which really does speak volumes.

klcna

I feel like every Taylor album has its own personality and for me Speak Now was about her proving that she wrote her own music. Lots of emotion. Lots of attitude. Lots of loooong songs. Even though it's not quite as well performing as some of the other albums I still think it's very important in her catalog and in her story as an artist. It kind of ends up feeling like every move she makes has a purpose even if that puts certain albums in a lower position to other artists work in that given year or time period.

GodConcepts

Exactly, i feel its so overlooked. Its her only album Where every song was exclusively written just by her. But it doesnt have like a memorable theme( and one might argue meme) around it that makes it famous. Speak now taylor isnt marketable or memorable, and it sucks seeing people perceive it like that. Everyone remembers the 22 circus outfit, or the 1989 shades, or the evermore hair/jacket, but with speak now, it feels like no one can remember what to associate it with

kath2833

SNTV is my favorite album as well & I feel the same about the vault tracks. Her beautiful purple dress is imo iconic & enchanted also became big on TikTok a few years ago. It’s her most emotional & raw album vocally with a variety of lyrics all written by her beyond relationships/heartbreak. There’s adolescence, confession, maturity. Actual stories with detail & depth. Seamlessly transitions between country, pop & rock. I could go on tbh.

urfaveswiftie

GOTTA MAKE IT 13

asecretwomenssociety

Haha, I wish you luck with only one month to go.
