I just checked (had to scroll down a bit), seems it's zee-bra in America, and zeh-bra in the UK, so I guess we are both right, but it's weird I've watched many American shows on TV and still never heard it be pronounced that way XD
Ah lol- thx for the correction, that’s just what I’ve heard on tvs and the like- though I’m American and as far as I’ve heard we usually call it Zee-bruh, so zeh-bruh would not make me personally think that lol, idk tho 🤷♀️
Both tbh, I'm from Britain so probably should just use 'zed' but a combination of American media and just that it matches with most other letters made it so I use both
I am American and I know most people say it as "Zee"
But to differentiate for me, I say it as "Zed"
Edit: Because it's weird to say 2 different letters to same.
The alphabet literally existed before the song, I don't know what to tell you, dude.
The song itself takes the tune from "twinkle twinkle little star" which took its tune from "Ah, vous dirai-je, Maman". To change the pronunciation of a letter of the english alphabet just so it rhymes with the other letters in a song PARODY made of a bunch of ALREADY EXISTING letters is pretty damn stupid, if you ask me.

"tee you vee, double u x, why and zed" it doesnt rhyme. it's zee
agreed
zee rhymes?
It rhymes with a lot of letters, including v which is just a few letters before it
4/26 letters behind it, quite a lot to say it rhymes
right, but they rhyme when you sing the song
t, v, e, c
None are near z though
v is
"double you ex why" is a lot before the z
i just saved myself a whoosh.....XD
As a dutch person "zed" makes more sense to me but i actually use both interchangeably
why tf does it need to rhyme, it's the alphabet not a poem
To teach the kids easier
ooh, good point
Nah, but it has to rhyme. I don't make the rules, I'm just a messenger.
From the hive of the unsophisticated
Better that than from the hive of the Reddit pseudo intellectual
damn right
It's not meant to rhyme. The parody was made to help kids remember the letter omfg
you dont call it a fucking zedbra
We don't call it a zeebra either It's a Zebra
It is pronounces zee bra though
zee-bruh\*
Honestly I think that is how I normally pronounce it. I don't say zebra often lol
bruh
bruh
bruh
\*casually joins in\* bruh
zeh - bra\*
# no
It's pronounced zeh-bra, I've never heard it be pronounced zee-bra
I've never heard it pronounced zehbra in my life, so that is interesting.
I just checked (had to scroll down a bit), seems it's zee-bra in America, and zeh-bra in the UK, so I guess we are both right, but it's weird I've watched many American shows on TV and still never heard it be pronounced that way XD
So Debra is Deebra? Most of the world (including the african english pronunciation) pronounces it like Debra, not with the "zee"
exactly
Actually, in the UK, English people do.
Actually I’m pretty sure they call it zeh-bruh but idk feel free to correct me if I’m wrong
No, I'm British. We never call it a zeh-bruh. People would think I'm an American.
I’m American and if someone said zeh-bruh we would think they were British.
Ah lol- thx for the correction, that’s just what I’ve heard on tvs and the like- though I’m American and as far as I’ve heard we usually call it Zee-bruh, so zeh-bruh would not make me personally think that lol, idk tho 🤷♀️
Mate we call zeh-bruh, I've never heard anyone in England call it zee-bruh
No we don't are you southern? Zed Brah.
Both tbh, I'm from Britain so probably should just use 'zed' but a combination of American media and just that it matches with most other letters made it so I use both

nah
i pronounce it as Z
I am American and I know most people say it as "Zee" But to differentiate for me, I say it as "Zed" Edit: Because it's weird to say 2 different letters to same.
Zed requiring 3 instead:
AMERICA 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅
AMURICA🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅
Its pronounced "z"
I pronounce it zed lol
Zzzzzzz
The alphabet song doesn't rhyme for Brits.
Rhyming wasn't the point of the song
Then why does it just so happen to rhyme? What a crazy coincidence if it's not supposed to rhyme.
The alphabet literally existed before the song, I don't know what to tell you, dude. The song itself takes the tune from "twinkle twinkle little star" which took its tune from "Ah, vous dirai-je, Maman". jesus christ calm down
Jesus Christ, google is a readily available resource.
Well I didn't take it that seriously until you went crazy.
zed, the correct way smh

the 6th letter in the greek alphabet divided by the seventh
Z / H?
Zeta/eta Z
ohh i'm stupid
Zee sounds like C which can cause confusion, so Zed is better.
both
One is English, one is American, but who voted other?
probably people who use both

You basically asked is we’re from the us or the uk
No. US or UK/former UK colonies
“Zed” is the Canadian pronunciation.
\*sees most people agree with me\* \*FIST PUMPS AIR VIOLENTLY\*
English as in the language or English as in the accent? Zed sounds cooler though, we should implement that into american lingo
see, pronounce it "Zuko" iykyk B)
I live in New Zealand but I use zee except when saying NZ

Zlorp.
“Zeh”
‘zed’ is the ENGLISH way of saying it
People really out here arguing over which English dialect is the best
Bee, cee, dee, gee, pee, tee, vee all end in “ee”. Why shouldn’t “zee”? Ay, bed, ced, ded, e, ef, ged, haych, eye, jay, kay, el, em, en, oh, ped, queueueueue, ar, es, ted, you, ved, double you, ex, why and zed sounds pretty good, though.
Z rhymes with B, C, D, E, G, P, T, and V, as well as He, She, Be, Bee, Sea, See, Gee, Pee, Tea, and Me, as well as plen-ty of other words!
It's astonishing that over 500 people voted for the wrong answer.
Zed bc it sounds much better
Zee, like a normal person.

Hate to tell you this but "zee" is the outlier in the world, not "zed"
