If he really wants a hellavator, then he can use a teleporter to go directly from the overworld to the underworld. A shaft that goes around the shimmer should be fine seeing as for fast, direct transport the teleporters would work fine

If you use a falling block (sand or silt for example) to make them ocupy the same space and then leave, when you come back the liquid ceases to exist

What? How do I find the purple water place?

On the jungle side of the world, between it and the ocean, check the caverns layer. Normally found before you reach lava. Look a large area of stone that’s somewhat round or oval. Has a few gem trees for flavor, just be careful of falling in, it has a phasing effect that moves you through blocks.

If you’re post moon lord you just get bottomless shimmer bucket, get rid of it, and place a shimmer pool somewhere else.

Do you have rocket boots/(blank) in a bottle? Find the edge. Or grappling hook. You can place blocks above it.

Don't be a coward. Dig straight through the shimmer all the way to hell. Who cares that you're going to lose a shimmer lake? A hellavator is on the line.

Me personally, I would dig to the right or left until I clear the shimmer and then continue down, remember to make the ceiling out of something vines or grass won't grow on

Make a floor for the this hellevator and make a tunnel that extends to the left or right and then have it go down like you would normally with a hellevator. (I suggest you also make a tunnel underneath the aether lake so that whenever you fall don’t continue to fall and have it connect to your hellevator)

Or you can use water to tunnel through the shimmer like you would with lava.

You can relocate shimmer using pumps. So that's one option.

I don't think so... You can't pick it up in a normal bucket, but pumps still work last I checked.

Dump some water on the surface of the shimmer to make blocks, then dig out 2 blocks, add water, repeat until finished.

Cry, then get to work

Place sand over the shimmer, so you create artificial walls and then break it from below

1. Throw a star cloak into shimmer so you can't get affected by it 2. Dig around the pool so if you get shimmered you won't fall into lava 3. Dig the hellavetor around the shimmer

Water bucket, you can part it without too much effort and not lose much

Dig up and around it. Be happy that you found shimmer pool, if and while you're at your pre-hardmode.

Use rope. Dig around it. Use wings to fly over it. Use your brain.

Fall in the shimmer exactly where your hellevator is, let it teleport you through the blocks, dig straight down. Shimmer will just be a minor hiccup on the way down.

drain it into the lava, make tons of obsidian, then keep digging the water down into hell for even more obsidian. thats what i do. you can alwo keep tunneling and redirect the water to the side into a different cave system if you find one.

If your dead set on making it vertical you can get some dynamite and drain the shimmer or if you don’t care about keeping the shimmer you can just get the shimmer cloak and mine through it.

Dump it into the lava pool :)

Use a compass/gps/etc, find the coordinates of the hellavator from above. Go to hell and get to those coordinates, start mining upwards from hell to the bottom of the shimmer. Replace the blocks directly under the shimmer with bricks.

Get off the world, and enter again. You'll be back in the spawn.

Toss a Star Cloak into the shimmer to get a Chromatic Cloak, then equip that. The Chromatic Cloak prevents you from being affected by the Shimmering effect, so then you could just get a building material & make walls on either side of your intended hellevator column within the pool of shimmer.

Drink an obsidian skin potion

Dig around it and fully separate it from everything, or just do nothing if it’s just a normal play through bc you might never really even rejoin the world realistically

Go in from above with a pool of water abd just mine through like you woukd wuth lava
