When her femur broke, her foot came back and broke her nose. Also broke her ankle in 4 places. All of that is extreme but the femur coming out the back is no bueno.

Was just going to comment that this video doesn’t really illustrate the damage at all compared to that x-ray. It’s on Reddit somewhere; I saw it just recently. It’s pure nightmare fuel.

This happened to a distant relative of mine. She is now paralyzed because it somehow fractured her spine (as well as both legs.)

I learned through a buddy going through EMT school that breaking one femur causes the body to lose roughly 10L of blood. Surviving that kind of trauma is slim… two broken femurs and you’re a goner.

Been driving for 12 years and since day 1 I've sat as far away as safely and comfortably from my steering wheel and dash (South Africa, so manual - far away and close enough to be able to clutch + brake in an emergency) - purely because the person who taught me to drive showed me a similar video and it stuck with me.
