Does the frunk not get below freezing during the winter? I've been waiting for warmer weather to try this, fearing my takeout would lose its heat from a frozen cooler.
yeah I debated that but the hole is good for keeping bags upright and half the year the hood is covered in winter crap so I went with this. If the frunk was powered I'd probably do that.
It's a bit of weight but from what I've read weight has little impact on range. The peace of mind knowing I don't need to rely on roadside assistance is worth it to me.
I hadn't considered that honestly. You think it would go through everything between it and the cabin? Wouldn't the car be designed with frunk cargo in mind?
Every thing I read said not to keep heavy stuff in the frunk because it's part of the crumple zone. Seems crazy to me but yeah I moved all my heavy stuff to the rear.
14-50 and L14-30 extension cords, and about seven different adapters, plus a second mobile charger (one is permanently in my garage). Maybe I'm paranoid, but you never know. 🤷🏻♂️ Better to be prepared than not.
Yup, after having owned multiple laptops and other devices my chargers usually break before the device does. No brainer to buy a second charger for something as critical as your car imo
Well, especially considering how crappy the public charging infrastructure currently is. If I can find a 240V outlet somewhere, I basically have Level 2 charging! 👍🏼😊
Oof those yellow things are terrible. Order up some real microfiber towels and never ever look back or scratch your paint again.

ever since i got the y, i moved all my front trunk shit to the small flat storage in the trunk. currently i have just a thick gauge cable for mobile charging, if needed.
Couple of small, lightweight blankets, tire puncture repair kit, nitrile gloves, clean microfiber towel, jacking pucks, cordless air compressor, storage bag for my roof glass shades and enough room to tote a large pizza. That's about it.
I have the exact same cooler bag in my frunk! It's awesome for so many reasons, especially when people freak out about me putting my groceries where the engine should be!
All food item go in frunk on my MYLR.
Keeping those casseroles and boxes upright is very easy in the frunk.

- In the summer I add a couple gallons of water (once the freezing risk is gone.
Probably missing some that isn't coming to my head.
Damn some of you pack a lot of stuff!
I just keep my dogs foldable transport cage in the frunk. Very rarely use the frunk. Its just easier with the back since it is powered. And its closer to the charge port anyways
Charging cables etc. I keep in the back trunk, in the small compartment.

Wouldn’t that Jack add range-reducing weight?
It's a bit of weight but from what I've read weight has little impact on range. The peace of mind knowing I don't need to rely on roadside assistance is worth it to me.
I'd get that Jack out of there. If you get in a head on that Jack is going to be in your lap.
I hadn't considered that honestly. You think it would go through everything between it and the cabin? Wouldn't the car be designed with frunk cargo in mind?
Every thing I read said not to keep heavy stuff in the frunk because it's part of the crumple zone. Seems crazy to me but yeah I moved all my heavy stuff to the rear.
hmm ok, I'll do some reading too, thx for the tip edit: the manual says not to load more than 110lbs in the frunk and my jack weighs 20

Reusable
Usually carry out goes there
It’s got those hooks. My English friend calls them curry hooks but that has always felt slightly inappropriate
Curry means more than just a dish from the Indian takeout. It's become a kind of general purpose word and doesn't necessarily imply Indian.
I put my backpack to go to work, since I rear park, makes it easier to grab my stuff quickly (I do close the frank gently no worries about it)
