I keep an insulated cooler which is empty most of the time, but I have yet to find a better spot to carry food when I order take out. Keeps the cold cold and hot foods hot, while keeping that new car smell as for as long as possible.

Pippy61

Would you mind sharing the make of the cooler bag? Looking to get something similar.

asegura32

Yeah. Please share.

Donjunito

https://imgur.com/a/R7Gu4U1 I don’t want to share the direct Amazon link, but the seller is Yakeelemon

yas_gaga

I can’t find it. Haha

crazytechno

Here’s the link since OP is kinda weird about it https://www.amazon.com/Organizer-Collapsible-Insulated-Removable-Partition/dp/B09F97XSGV?source=ps-sl-shoppingads-lpcontext&ref_=fplfs&psc=1&smid=A2YV0XUM6VEB2N

akoforever

Plot Twist, OP works for the seller Yakeelemon!

Tesla Trunk Cooler Organizer Fits for Model 3 Model Y Model X Collapsible Insulated Zipper Trunk Cooler Bag with Mesh Pockets & Removable Partition Plate https://a.co/d/43bdWQh I’m not sponsored

goodvibezone

But how does it know which is which 🤪

Donjunito

The bag has dividers….but tbh, hot foods stay warmer than cold stayed cold, each on counter temps

goodvibezone

Ha I was just joking. It's a like a thermos. Keeps hot things hot. Cold things cold. But how does it know 🤣

HunterST

It’s the McDLT of cooler bags.

ST012Mi

The smell aspect is huge for my wife lol. We do the same!

applepumpkinspy

I installed a power frunk solely to make it more convenient to keep smells in the frunk.

ST012Mi

Dang I wish we installed a power frunk on the Y. Def will look into it.

jgilbs

Same here

Donjunito

https://imgur.com/a/R7Gu4U1 Yakeelemon seller on Amazon…. I’m not sure if I will break any url posting rules here….the seller is not sponsoring , either lol I just searched for Tesla cooler organizer

ST012Mi

Thank you!

FrostyD7

Does the frunk not get below freezing during the winter? I've been waiting for warmer weather to try this, fearing my takeout would lose its heat from a frozen cooler.

dtrainmcclain

I got the same cooler and it is great

frunk goals right here

oxyi

I put those in the hole in the back trunk

[deleted]

yeah I debated that but the hole is good for keeping bags upright and half the year the hood is covered in winter crap so I went with this. If the frunk was powered I'd probably do that.

Donjunito

I bought covers for those holes and made it look like micro-trunks, which I love!!!

aithalakadi

Donjunito

Wouldn’t that Jack add range-reducing weight?

[deleted]

It's a bit of weight but from what I've read weight has little impact on range. The peace of mind knowing I don't need to rely on roadside assistance is worth it to me.

Life-Shift-6173

I'd get that Jack out of there. If you get in a head on that Jack is going to be in your lap.

[deleted]

I hadn't considered that honestly. You think it would go through everything between it and the cabin? Wouldn't the car be designed with frunk cargo in mind?

Life-Shift-6173

Every thing I read said not to keep heavy stuff in the frunk because it's part of the crumple zone. Seems crazy to me but yeah I moved all my heavy stuff to the rear.

[deleted]

hmm ok, I'll do some reading too, thx for the tip edit: the manual says not to load more than 110lbs in the frunk and my jack weighs 20

[deleted]

Note the plug kit; the idea is to be able to perform a roadside repair. I've already done it once (thus having all the stuff) and it's held up.

somewhat_pragmatic

> Tire patch kit Doesn't the patch usually go on the inside of a tire? Do you have a plug kit instead?

[deleted]

Yes it's a plug kit

brandude87

Do you also carry a spare tire? If not, what's the point of the jack?

[deleted]

It's pretty hard to repair a tire with it still on the car.

14-50 and L14-30 extension cords, and about seven different adapters, plus a second mobile charger (one is permanently in my garage). Maybe I'm paranoid, but you never know. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Better to be prepared than not.

PM_ME_DANK

Yup, after having owned multiple laptops and other devices my chargers usually break before the device does. No brainer to buy a second charger for something as critical as your car imo

CaliDude75

Well, especially considering how crappy the public charging infrastructure currently is. If I can find a 240V outlet somewhere, I basically have Level 2 charging! 👍🏼😊

A bag of microfiber towels from Costco

Inside_Gap_7626

To wipe off the fingerprints after closing the frunk 😅

proleteriate

No joke just bought the towels and threw it in the frunk instead of back for this reason lol

jaOfwiw

Oof those yellow things are terrible. Order up some real microfiber towels and never ever look back or scratch your paint again. The Rag Company - Eagle Edgeless 500 (4-Pack) Professional Korean 70/30 Blend Super Plush Microfiber Detailing Towels, 500GSM, 16in x 16in, Blue https://a.co/d/9AmLssI

IcyGem

Is it reusable or it’s like 1 rag for 1-2 day thing

ScoYello

Reusable

optiongeek

Usually carry out goes there

losroy

It’s got those hooks. My English friend calls them curry hooks but that has always felt slightly inappropriate

optiongeek

Curry means more than just a dish from the Indian takeout. It's become a kind of general purpose word and doesn't necessarily imply Indian.

rayko555

I put my backpack to go to work, since I rear park, makes it easier to grab my stuff quickly (I do close the frank gently no worries about it)

doggydude5

I'm sure Frank appreciates that :)

inkarnata

How'd you get the beans above the frank?

_Fo_oL_

PragDaddy

ScoYello

I’ve got a toddler porta-potty up there

clunkclunk

Same - along with trash bags and wipes to deal with it. And a change of clothes for each kid. Thankfully we're beyond diapers; maybe in another year we're beyond the toddler potty.

Reed82

I forgot that I did this a few times when my kids were baby sized. Thanks for the reminder.

tynamite

ever since i got the y, i moved all my front trunk shit to the small flat storage in the trunk. currently i have just a thick gauge cable for mobile charging, if needed.

Crackerzot

Couple of small, lightweight blankets, tire puncture repair kit, nitrile gloves, clean microfiber towel, jacking pucks, cordless air compressor, storage bag for my roof glass shades and enough room to tote a large pizza. That's about it.

Donjunito

Sounds like the ideal package

-throughline-

Nice! Do you have the Tesla roof shades? If so, do you like them?

Crackerzot

No, I didn't want to spend that much. Got a nice set off Amazon for less than fifty bucks. They fit great, work great, no complaints.

-throughline-

Would love to know the brand if you don’t mind. Thanks!

I keep my frunk empty, as it's a great secure place to put my backpack (w/laptop) or any other valuable luggage when traveling or running errands.

acroback

All food item go in frunk on my MYLR. Keeping those casseroles and boxes upright is very easy in the frunk. Yes, I travel with a 5 course meal. I call it meal on wheels.

Probably missing some that isn't coming to my head.

12V Jump starter in case the 12V battery dies. The frunk can be opened with a 9V battery, then I can use the jump starter to get the car going again. Unfortunately the first time the 12V died, it did it with almost no warning. Had a warning when I parked on a Sunday night saying the 12V would need replaced "soon" and in the morning the car was dead. Sentry Mode was off too since it was in my garage so that didn't drain it. Only other thing in there 100% of the time is the front license plate on an OttoSteer magnetic holder in case I get stopped for not having my front plate on. Otherwise takeout goes there if it's smelly, and sometimes frozen food from the grocery store during winter. All the charging adapters etc. are in the subtrunk in the back.
