Yeah bugs, I had a Sonos in an outdoor enclosure, old passively cooled one.
I think all the local ant colonies relocated - somehow getting into the waterproof case.
Looks cool though, maybe just put some bug bait or something in there?
I had ordered this case - it was good quality but my electrician could not install it - he thought it was missing a piece. But now I am glad I did not do it because I would not want to open and close the door every time.
Depends on use. We have a rental cabin, and the Tesla charger would only get used when rented or when we occasionally use the place. This is a perfect solution for that scenario. No garage. Mounted on post. Occasional use.
Great job, but I don’t get the point of this, isn’t the wall connector weather proof? HOA requires you to do this?
Edit: Just remembered I’ve had a wall connector temp sensor go bad (1 red blink while charging) just from it being installed outside my garage and exposed to the direct sun throughout the day. I can’t think this would be any good for the connector especially if you close it when not in use.
i use a tesla wall charger at a business i visit…
outside…exactly the same as residential model i have…
seems like it survived being outside fine…been outside at least 12 months maybe much longer…
they seem very durable…
This $240 box is not needed for the Tesla Wall Connector. Fine if you think a box looks "tidy" but they don't need further weather protection and it makes tightly looping the cable inside it a chore.
This. We’ve had our MY for a month and I would have ripped the stupid box off the wall if I had to roll up the cable every morning and try to shove everything inside. It is 100% easier to just roll it up on the charger itself. Also I think the random black box on the wall outside your house looks way more out of place than the wall connector itself.
I have this and have had it for months…love it! Congrats! Super easy to get in and out of, has a lock if that’s a concern, and looks so much neater since mine is in front of house. To me it’s no different than the container I have for a garden hose so I don’t have the thing just laying around the yard when not in use. Totally not necessary, but I like having it 😊
Actually prefer this when compared to the charger poking out of home exteriors. Unless your home matches the colors, it can look a bit tacky or out of place.
Highly recommend winding the cable counter clockwise btw. Wouldn’t have to bend the charger back like it is now.
I’m thinking about getting one of these because I’m installing a charger at my camp ground (it’s like a trailer park but much nicer and designed for vacationing and not to be a permanent residence)
My worry is two parts: The first being I’m not 100% sure how the charger will hold up being outside in the sun and snow. The second part is assholes, I could totally see someone cutting the cable because “F$&k electric cars” This is because we have already had problems with people keying our model Y and 3 when parking it there. So having the cable and everything wrapped up in a box that I can put a lock on might help.
Do the cooling vents look sufficient? You might wana leave that glass door ajar while charging. These things get hot and need air circulation to keep everything cool. Please report back how this works. Like the idea but don’t think this is going to keep it cool in hot summer days.
Pretty slick, keeps everything tidy when not in use and HOA approved lol. Got it on amazon https://amzn.to/3lrqsX5
That is slick. Good job
What kind of HOA has a problem with an EV charger?
Looks great!!!
EXPLOSIVE-PROOF LAYER WTF?

gosh that’s so expensive. it’s like a half of the charger itself.
You missed the "Save 5 percent!" coupon box.
Well, why didn’t you say that the first time? Lol. :-)

Likely explosion proof for manufacturing locations where an arc could blow the building up.
Looks great!
Agreed...looks sharp! Thanks for sharing.
Dont let others knock you if its pointless. I think its a great idea and those squirrels love chewing on electrical wirings.
Yah. Suicidal squirrels.
Kinda cool but also totally pointless.
Going to get old opening and closing
I also imagine there is some heat dissipation from the Wall Charger, which the enclosure will now trap. Also, bugs.

There are vent and drain holes in the box.

Slick and super expensive

Got ya, if it does go, you can replace it under warranty. Lol
Thought you’d like this https://teslanorth.com/2023/04/02/tesla-cybercharger-china-wall-connector/
HOA should be fired if this is a requirement, I’d be livid and refuse.
I wish my HOA was this neurotic
I’d like to see a photo with it closed too. Looks great!!!
You'd just see a middle aged fat guy taking a photo with his cell phone in the reflection.
So you’re saying I’ll just see myself…
😂
LMAO 😂
Me too. Post a picture of it closed too
Angle shot!

You’re going to hate your life in a couple of weeks dealing with that cord management.
I would hate to put everything back in the enclosure after charging. Seems like a pain in the butt.

Single loop over the charger for me. I’m way too lazy for anything more lol
This looks clean!!!!!
Why didn’t u just put it in garage
Why? To hold the heat in?

Just looks sexy! 🔥💯
Looks great. After 2 months with my car, wrapping and unwrapping the cable is going to get old af.
Looks good. Nothing wrong with giving extra protection even if it claims to be waterproof. Cars are weather proof but people have garages don’t they?
Cute! But the charger is already rated for all weather.
Great Job, nice and clean

Is it really needed?
No, but it makes everything much neater on the outside of the house instead of just having a cable hanging off the side of the house.
Beautiful 🥰
Wait does one need to???

No it doesn’t
But why ?
The box just as expensive as the charger lol I would get it for $60 max
[удалено]
I feel attacked. Granted the cable is usually attached to my car
Useless
Too expensive for just the that, charger itself is 350 when I bought it
I dig it. Probably will have to do this when I get my cybertruck as it will sit outside.
If I were you, I’d smooth out that bottom notch in the metal or cover it up with some rubber/plastic trim piece.
Neat!
Can you lock it?
She's a beaut, Clark.
Looks amazing
Neat product regardless of price

looks clean, nice work
That’s nice
Love it
Love it. Where did you find this? I saw it on a website, but shipping was $350!
