I took delivery for my model 3 in Q4 2023 and I don’t regret my purchase. I already have ambient lighting all around the car in more areas than Tesla provides, I installed rear screen in the back, & I paid 30k after tax incentive for RWD also with a end of quarter dropped inventory prices.
The current RWD is still not tax incentive eligible, 6 months later. The only thing I would miss from the 2024 is the ventilated seats. It’s not worth 7.5k difference from what I paid. Sure it’s a little bit quieter, but I have no issues with the build or ride quality in my car either.
Maybe having a 2019-2021 pre-refresh Model 3 would have a bigger gap in terms of being an upgrade, but I test drove the new one and still didn’t feel like it was worth waiting nor paying that much more.
I went for the 7.5 inch which also has the ability to add SIM for streaming without having to teather. Did have 3 solid weeks of intermittent screen unresponsivness which was a known fault. I'm sure its been solved on later batches. But Hansshow support was good. Solveda with a little bit of circuit board on a ribbon cable they sent, along with videos on how to attach. Was really simple but since then it's been flawless. Oh and it even has a Seat Massage for driver function.🤣 https://www.hautopart.com/collections/model-y-interior-accessories/products/model-3-y-7-5-inch-rear-intelligent-entertainment-system-screen-v3?variant=43749757845716
this is the one I have: https://www.hautopart.com/products/model-3-y-h7-plus-rear-touch-screen-carplay-auto-display-android-13-system
I haven’t had any problems with mine, but it isn’t used much anyways
I put ventilated seats in my 21 mylr, I got the fans and pads and got some $300 perforated seat covers on Amazon and took the plunge took out the original upholstery and put these whole cover seat covers on, they fit like a glove and they still have heated seats function and now I get nice cold air.
You have to wire it all up but I’m about to sell this car for a m3p lease and buy the refresh model y. These work great for under $400. Many color options

Yes. Specifically wish I had the cooled seats and better suspension. I’m also jealous of autoshift, hands-free trunk, one piece taillights, stalkless design, ambient lighting, quieter cabin and the rear screen.
Also the new performance with the tax credit is cheaper than my long range model. Last year the $7,500 federal credit only went towards taxes owed, and I didn’t owe any taxes so it basically went to waste. I 1000% would have waited had I known what was coming.
But overall Im content with my 3. It’s still far, far superior to any other car manufacturer out there, IMO.
I have a 2022 and a 2024. I had to turn the hands-free trunk off. Every single time I walk near the car, particularly in the garage, its starts beeping. It drove me crazy until I finally turned that feature off. I haven't decided yet on autoshift, but I am leaning toward not liking it. It takes more effort & thought to use, and is slower than just having the stalk. The seats and the suspension are awesome, however.
We got our Model Y LR in June of 2020. Paid a pretty penny. We needed a vehicle for years, but kept our Odyssey van on life support until our finance guy said we were in a good position to pull the trigger on a shiny new car. No regrets.
Nice!
I mean it was probably overdue for a new car for you guys so can’t really complain about getting a car you really wanted. Plus, for those folks getting the LR it’s more about the economic impact vs the splurge. I’m sure you’re saving a pretty penny driving the Y over the Honda burning gas.
The 2006 van took about $60/fill, 2-3 times per month. These days I spend approximately $20/month on electricity, and I charge at home 95% of the time. I buy my washer fluid at the grocery store. It’s all good.
This is the way of the EV! I’m just hoping it lasts given how many people are getting onboard.
I think in the future, electricity will go up once we’re all in EVs but I hope I’m wrong.
Unfortunately, it’s likely we won’t be able to keep the savings because they need the tax revenue.
Hoping it lasts at least long enough to have the car paid off.
I bought one very well knowing that the highland was coming in a matter of weeks. But Tesla was discounting the “old” one by about €4000 euros so I took that deal. I would love to have the new features, but I didn’t want to stretch my budget any further.
Like a friend of mine buy M3 and then they announced the tax credit is back on long range. He is upset and wondering if he had waiting for a week or two.
Just like everything else. Anything you buy is obsolete before you even get it home. Life in 21st Century profit-hungry, greedy corporate-driven America - aka "Economics 101."
I'm thinking:
Announcements late-2024 for China and then January 2025 or Spring 2025 for the US.
If it doesn't happen in 2024 at all, then announcements maybe Jan 2025 for China and then Spring 2025 for the US.
Because for the Model 3 Highland, we got huge leaks starting in like April 2023. The leaks revealed the entire car like 6-7 months before it was officially announced in China/parts of Europe. Similar case for new Model 3 Performance months before it was officially announced.
So far for Model Y Juniper, we've gotten some small leaks (one decent one recently) but nothing confirming that it's right around the corner.
If I'm not mistaken, China's Shanghai factory is very efficient and also needs time to ramp up to start exporting the cars to other countries to sell there.
The Model 3 refresh was announced and also started delivery in late-2023 for China and some countries in Europe. The US announced the Model 3 refresh mid-Jan 2024 and then deliveries came 1.5-2 months later since US factories make the cars sold in the US.
Tesla customer service told my manager directly that they will come in mid 2025. The 0.99% was to help move/reduce the inventory in preparation.
Take this with a grain of salt of course, but this makes sense.
As someone who used to be in that position, you're right.
Do people really think Tesla is spilling the beans on future products to people making like twenty dollars an hour?
Announced in January of 2025 like the Model 3 refresh. Available during summer. I don’t think they can wait till 2026 with the beating they are getting in China and Europe.
Edit: 2025z
The beating in europe also has a lot to do with Tesla not having a smaller car. Every car Tesla makes is somewhat big over here. They need the Golf-sized Model 2.
Just like buying a computer, it’s never a good time, just buy it when you’re ready and don’t stress over it. Got mine in March with no regrets. Like with stocks, good luck with timing the market. No guarantee when price will go up or down along with car loan interest rates.
My brother was just told by Tesla “between July and end of year” for US. I told him I think they must be talking 2025, but he seemed adamant they were referring to this year.
July 1st :-). Real question when it does get released why wouldn't Tesla release globally at the same time . If they release in china first, it's going to have an adverse affect and people are going to wait because they know the refresh is coming. Like what happened with model 3
I agree with you, but they have already upgraded the Chinese Teslas a little. They have the interior lighting highlights like the Highland, and a battery with slightly better acceleration and slightly more range. Not quite a full update...but here in Australia we get our Teslas from the same factory and didn't receive this slight upgrade.
Tbh it barely looks different. You’d have a to be a Tesla super fan to tell. Like the model 3 highland - it takes me a while to work out if it’s new or not …
I def think it’s coming sooner than later only because I’m not seeing a lot of new model y inventory added atleast in the Tesla stores in my state or nearby states. That’s maybe because of the backlog of orders from the 0.99 promo…. But usually they would work on the orders while also keeping up with inventory for their Tesla stores.
2025 at the earliest.
They will want to ride out the M3 Highland sales as much as possible and identify problems to fix and integrate improvements into the redesign of the Y.
The first confirmed examples of MY getting HW4 was the day after I took delivery. But idgaf. I don't have FSD and I think regular autopilot is already head and shoulder above anything anyone else has out there.
Probably like the new 3, I’d bet it’ll be Europe and China first either late ‘24 and then US in early ‘25. If not this year, then late ‘25 Europe and China, and then early ‘26 in the US.
is this really a "refresh" though? Honestly, I love my 2022 MYP but all I see here are different tail lights. Let's hope Tesla is a bit more creative than this.
Exactly why I didn’t order, even under the .99 APR. My wife knew how pi$$ed I’d be if Juniper came out within a year after ordering. The current Y cabin looks bare vs the other three S3X models (and other EV brands). What was once cool isn’t as much now. IMO it’ll take a while. Elon slashed the workforce and Reddit is full of horror stories around bad deliveries, bad workmanship, slow service, etc. I was excited to order and I even rented one on Turo for 3 days to truly understand Tesla. Now who knows what I’ll do.
Elon said previously not to expect a new version until 2025. Then recently he announced that HW5 would be on all new models from second half of 2025, so I figure we’re looking at end of 2025 for Juniper, which will include HW5
I saw a spy photo from a mile away and you can kinda make out the headlights. Visually, similar updates to highland. Slimmer lights, possible deletion of fog lights, new taillights, updated interior, improved efficiency, new wheel options, sport seats in the performance. I foresee the performance Y doing 0-60 in the low 3’s. Possibly 3.2 or 3 seconds flat. No more stalks. All predictable things IMO. I don’t foresee any wild or major changes.
Semi-related… What are the chances we see a financing incentive come back on the current model?
Missed out on the .99% financing last time, but hoping it may come back again before the refresh is announced.
2026
And I predict it will be minor. With some things being worse. They definitely want to cut costs more and more. Elon has made it clear that quality is not the focus.
The day after you buy the current one, they’ll announce 😵💫
This. The Model 3 highland was announced less than a week after I took delivery of a brand new 2023 Model 3 🤧
Can you buy one so the rest of us can get the refresh?
I just did
Thanks bro
I would be so pissed off In your case, the upgrades seem substantial even at the price increase.
Not even a price increase - the new performance is cheaper than my long range from last year
At least you have stalks!
Any regret tho?
I took delivery for my model 3 in Q4 2023 and I don’t regret my purchase. I think there’s an inexpensive kit that adds extra door seals for a quieter cabin
Yes. Specifically wish I had the cooled seats and better suspension. It hurts, and I hurt for you my friend but just because another car has more features, doesn’t make yours less amazing.
I have a 2022 and a 2024. I had to turn the hands-free trunk off. Every single time I walk near the car, particularly in the garage, its starts beeping. That sucks, sorry for your loss. Same thing happened to me with the 2024 MY 😂
We got our Model Y LR in June of 2020. Paid a pretty penny. We needed a vehicle for years, but kept our Odyssey van on life support until our finance guy said we were in a good position to pull the trigger on a shiny new car. No regrets.

I'd like to believe you're wrong, but you're not. The price will go up. It's not a matter of "if," but "when." Capitalism hard at work.
Unfortunately, it’s likely we won’t be able to keep the savings because they need the tax revenue. Hoping it lasts at least long enough to have the car paid off.

I already bought my Y four weeks ago, so I’m in the clear.
Yeppp..pretty much the same. Would've loved them ventilated seats and rear screen!
This is the only correct answer
Facts.
Like a friend of mine buy M3 and then they announced the tax credit is back on long range. He is upset and wondering if he had waiting for a week or two.
I was fully expecting it when the 0.99% ended.
This is the answer -Elon
Haha so true. I’m holding off until the come out.
Just like everything else. Anything you buy is obsolete before you even get it home. Life in 21st Century profit-hungry, greedy corporate-driven America - aka "Economics 101."
🤣
So it's July 1, 2024
I am digging that look on the back. But for the headlights, they have to do some major styling in the front for it to work.
i'm not a fan of "T E S L A" in the back. I prefer the logo emblem
First time I've seen someone say this, that's my biggest gripe with highland. It looks tacky, but the logo looks sleek :/
so just debadge it entirely!
As long as they don’t get rid of the fog lights I’m all for it
If they add the functional vent in front to all trims like the M3P, that would work, otherwise the front is just too empty
I'm thinking: Announcements late-2024 for China and then January 2025 or Spring 2025 for the US. If it doesn't happen in 2024 at all, then announcements maybe Jan 2025 for China and then Spring 2025 for the US.
Late Q4 2024, Q1 2025 for Juniper is what I read 6 months ago. Why are people still second guessing?
Because for the Model 3 Highland, we got huge leaks starting in like April 2023. The leaks revealed the entire car like 6-7 months before it was officially announced in China/parts of Europe. Similar case for new Model 3 Performance months before it was officially announced.
Also, I believe Chinese design team were heavily involved in Project Highland.
That means that us out here in Oz might see it before the US, as our cars are made in China.
Because they have competition there, not so much in NA
Chinese People work faster than Americans, that’s why. China during Covid built a whole hospital in 6 days, in the US it would at least a month.
I concur.
I just took delivery of my MY Saturday, so Juniper should be coming within the next few days.
Thanks for taking one for the team. I’ll name my refreshed y in your honor
This is the way. I'm taking delivery on my Y LR RWD this Friday. So announcement should hit anytime soon.
Took delivery Friday, should be soon.
Mid to late 2025
Right when my lease ends..!!
Is when they will announce it. And then it will be 3 more months.
SAVE THE STALKS no, seriously
Tesla customer service told my manager directly that they will come in mid 2025. The 0.99% was to help move/reduce the inventory in preparation. Take this with a grain of salt of course, but this makes sense.
They don't know anything.
As someone who used to be in that position, you're right. Do people really think Tesla is spilling the beans on future products to people making like twenty dollars an hour?
The people that are talking don't know. The people that know aren't talking. This is not a hard concept
I was downvoted like -5 a few days ago for suggesting the 0.99 offer was to clear inventory ahead of a refresh. I fully expect Juniper in 2025
Of course it’s to clear inventory. It’s as clear as day!
OP got 23 upvotes, he should donate you five of them to help you revert this injustice
That sucks!!! People just don’t want to hear it lol
Nah, they are just overproducing wildly. Tesla has offered 0% APR on MYs for months now in Germany. (Where they are also overproducing wildly)
> 0.99% Sorry, dumb question. Where is the 0.99% offer? I only see "$3,999 (8%) down, 6.39% APR, 72 months".
It was in May
thanks! Maybe it will happen again.
You will know when reddit starts posting pictures of a towel wrapped tesla few months before the launch.
This is the most reliable way 😎
No refresh is worth an extra $7500 if somehow the US Federal tax credit gets removed
unless the new cost savings in production lower the price regardless of the tax credit.
Yo the taillights for some reason looks even better on the Y than on the 3 - this gets me hype
Announced in January of 2025 like the Model 3 refresh. Available during summer. I don’t think they can wait till 2026 with the beating they are getting in China and Europe. Edit: 2025z

Sorry 2025 😂.

Living in another reality from Dark Matter…😳
Yes. I meant 2025.
Maybe he's get the blink drive too!
Whoa whoa…we’re crossing show dimensions now…🤯
Musk recently said no refresh this year
Musk says a lot of things. A lot of it never happens from the times he's stated.
Does he every release stuff ahead of schedule? Seems like he always over promises on timelines and stuff gets delayed, not released earlier.
For NA. May yet see it in China Q4
Doubt it, no test mules out in the public yet
Which historically holds almost zero value
Just like buying a computer, it’s never a good time, just buy it when you’re ready and don’t stress over it. Got mine in March with no regrets. Like with stocks, good luck with timing the market. No guarantee when price will go up or down along with car loan interest rates.
It's Tesla - it can be tomorrow, in a year, or never 😉.
Probably next year for the US at least. Maybe, maybe, a little earlier somewhere else unless they decide to try something new.
Will probably be teased on 8/8 as the “lower cost car based on existing technology” that Elon announced at last earnings call.
2026
My brother was just told by Tesla “between July and end of year” for US. I told him I think they must be talking 2025, but he seemed adamant they were referring to this year.
It's coming. Definitely.
In USA, you can order on Monday April 21, 2025.
July 1st :-). Real question when it does get released why wouldn't Tesla release globally at the same time . If they release in china first, it's going to have an adverse affect and people are going to wait because they know the refresh is coming. Like what happened with model 3

Late 2025-early 2026
No end of Q discounts. Only demo cars in inventory.... Within the week.
I would by the 2024 MY for these reasons. https://www.reddit.com/r/SensibleTesla/s/eWyphQmb9j
2025
What’s included in the refresh?
Jan 2025
42025
Right before Rivian R2 release
Late 2025
Q12025 IMO
Q2 2026
I’m waiting eagerly to get that beauty in me
Newbie here, what’s the difference in a Juniper?
Early 2025 announcement, mid year deliveries.
Elon canned the whole new car design team
"Soon"
Let’s hope for more trim levels. But I doubt it. But Tesla needs to get the average person.
Since it is going to be considered a 2025, I would say that maybe by September it will be released.
Soon
Tbh it barely looks different. You’d have a to be a Tesla super fan to tell. Like the model 3 highland - it takes me a while to work out if it’s new or not …
More important that seeing it is driving it. The new 3 is so smooth and so quiet it's like driving a whole different car.
End of year but sadly they are late on this.
hopefully by the time i plan on buying one in about 1-2 years lol
I def think it’s coming sooner than later only because I’m not seeing a lot of new model y inventory added atleast in the Tesla stores in my state or nearby states. That’s maybe because of the backlog of orders from the 0.99 promo…. But usually they would work on the orders while also keeping up with inventory for their Tesla stores.
Prob Fall for Asia, and Dec for USA
By Next year for sure.
No earlier than 2025
My guess is when rivian releases the R2
2025 at the earliest. They will want to ride out the M3 Highland sales as much as possible and identify problems to fix and integrate improvements into the redesign of the Y.
My guess is the end of this year or next year. That's why I'm currently leasing my myp
The first confirmed examples of MY getting HW4 was the day after I took delivery. But idgaf. I don't have FSD and I think regular autopilot is already head and shoulder above anything anyone else has out there.
Its not even a better looking version. Model 3's new version i the most feminim design ive seen. Its more for here then for him or for us.
The 3 came out after 2 years, and the Y launched, so maybe similar to that
September 2025 like Elon hinted not this year for sure.
Probably like the new 3, I’d bet it’ll be Europe and China first either late ‘24 and then US in early ‘25. If not this year, then late ‘25 Europe and China, and then early ‘26 in the US.
I just want more range bud. That’s all I’m asking for
Should I wait for the refresh or get one this year when they have a deal?
Elon said not this year, so 1/1/2025
Late 2025 announcement
2025
So in China prediction are Jan 2025. In America predictions are April 2025. That follows the release of the new M3
Early 2025
8/16/25
Did they go cheap on the stalks for this one too?
I’m hanging for this
It won't be available for North America until Spring 2025.
Won't be this year
is this really a "refresh" though? Honestly, I love my 2022 MYP but all I see here are different tail lights. Let's hope Tesla is a bit more creative than this.
Not until next year
Check their bankruptcy filings. Should be spelled out in there lol
2025.
Exactly why I didn’t order, even under the .99 APR. My wife knew how pi$$ed I’d be if Juniper came out within a year after ordering. in two weeks
Elon Musk [tweeted](https://x.com/elonmusk/status/1799631104389107774?s=46&t=iei3zJ5NO6GC2yYvVWA_kg) that there would be no Juniper in 2024
They better come by the end of this year ready for my new order
2027 Q2 I believe.
Early 2025 imo They are curently pushing model Y old inventory just as they did with the 3
Hope it will be early 2025
End of this year unveiling
In Sweden, they are offering down payment of 4wd LR / Performance with an yearly interest of 0,74% until the end of june. 👀
They need to hurry up, it’ll probably be at least a year out from release to ordering to taking delivery
Elon said previously not to expect a new version until 2025. Then recently he announced that HW5 would be on all new models from second half of 2025, so I figure we’re looking at end of 2025 for Juniper, which will include HW5

15-18 months when hardware 5 comes out. 😛
Typically you’ll see leaks first, then officially announced in china and u.s. will get it 6 months to a year later. My guess is February 2026
Agree, but I think 2026 is way too late regarding all the other competitors.
Agree with this take. If they wait until later 2025 or sometime in 2026, then they will get killed by competition esp in China.
Any idea why China receives the updates first?
That's their biggest market
Personally I love my stalks
yup, 2023 also got creep mode, which can be handy at times.
Soon
I don’t like how the tail lights are part of the tailgating if it’s going to be like the M3
Semi-related… What are the chances we see a financing incentive come back on the current model? Missed out on the .99% financing last time, but hoping it may come back again before the refresh is announced.
September/October of this year is most likely their next sales push.
2026 And I predict it will be minor. With some things being worse. They definitely want to cut costs more and more. Elon has made it clear that quality is not the focus.
Your wrong, commenting so we can circle back and talk about it.
Elon said, no MY refresh this year, so hopefully as early as Q1 of 25 as M3 refresh was also in Q1
They better not make it look like the highland, we NEED some flavor
Anyone know when this refresh may possibly happen. If its going to be anything like the model 3 Highland, Its forsure going to be worth the wait!
It's overdue. But i think they will have that new sodium battery, v2h and maybe hw5
Later this year or early next year, clearing out existing MY inventory is important for them.
HW5 Model Y will be insane. Def picking it up
Careful, it will be heavy.
Rofl 😂
not as insane as hw6, id hold out
Oh yeah! HW7 features then will blow your mind.
Not as insane as HW7, I'd hold out again
They'll remove more features to make it cheaper.
So a few Tesla youtubers mentioned April 2025. This was before elon kyboshed an Autumn release date. Sooo, is that credible?
I like the older look, model y juniper looks like an expensive Honda civic
