we're a pretty chill fanbase normally, but you happened to catch us during the best homestand we've ever experienced (banner/ring ceremonies), so I imagine everyone was in a great mood!
I’ve always heard Rangers fans were very hospitable to visiting fans and that makes me very happy and proud as a fan, but I will say my sister visited Wrigley Field last year and had nothing but great things to say about the Cubs fans and how much she enjoyed the trip so cheers to y’all too! Glad y’all had a great time and I can’t wait to go see Wrigley myself some day.
I work in the Lexus Club at GLF and I had the same experience in serving Cubs fans this week! Kind and respectful all around. Glad you enjoyed your time and we’ll welcome you back again soon!
Best job ever! I wish we did, but not in my position :( I did get to see an exact replica of the championship one up close, though. The exact one one would run you 75K 😳 Wild!
It was amazing! We bought standing room only for $26 thinking we’d be standing in the corner in the back. We didn’t realize standing room meant the pit. Unreal. We’re big country music fans, so it was such a fun surprise. They killed it.
Normally our DFW fan base is pretty chill (outside of Cowboys, sorry about them). I visited Wrigley a few years back and had a blast. Hoping to do a Blackhawks game this Fall!
There is zero point in being trashy to opposing teams' fans. We'll beat you on the field, but buy you a drink before and after the game. We're happy you made the trip, and want you to come back.
Rangers fans were hospitable. Rangers, hospitalized 😔. Messing with you, but keep our boy Josh Jung in your thoughts we need that stud on 3rd base like tomorrow
Aw so sorry to hear this. We lost our ace starting pitcher during the opener (Justin Steele). It’s not nearly as serious though. I hate seeing the guys get hurt. For us and them. I bet it kills them not being able to play. 😔
I was at the Saturday night game, ended up talking to the Cubs fan next to me the entire night. Yall are alright as far as I'm concerned.
Plus I ain't gonna lie, Chicago people are some hard motherfuckers, I wasn't about to be trash talking the team with what seemed like half of your fanbase in attendance 😂
We had a bunch of Cub fans around us in section 104 at game 2 Saturday. Everyone was generally friendly and we all had a good time. The only minorly negative thing that happened was a Cubs fan behind us "asking" my brother and me to sit down after we stood a little longer than normal on a Rangers homer. He "asked" us by saying "guys..." and pointing his finger at our seats.
Anyway, I think we should all be welcoming to the opposing team's fans - it's somewhat part of promoting our team and ballpark (and of course general human decency). It's harder with some fanbases (e.g., Astros), but even then I think we should strive to be accepting of their presence as long as they also behave.
Ah yeah that’s tough. Both sides are valid. You should be able to celebrate the homer and he should be able to see. He definitely should have asked politely though.
We had someone (not sure if it was Cubs or Rangers shouting at security to stop standing around and blocking his view 😆). That was Opening Night and face value was $175 plus fees where he was sitting so I get it.
section 124 for the saturday game, buncha cubs fans there. y’all were cool. but to be fair, i’ve never had a bad experience with any other teams fans, not even astro fans! maybe a couple of white sox fans a few years back, but that’s about it.
rangers fans are pretty relaxed man. we’re there for a good time and we like to include everyone.
You must not have been at game 5 of the ALCS. There were some not so great Astros fans there, and I feel like I ran into every one of them leaving the stadium that night. The rivalry is real.
well that is the postseason. i’d be that way towards opposing teams fans as well during that moment.
my girlfriend was, she had no complaints with the astros fans, but she’s not confrontational like me.
no joke, i’ve mentioned this before here.. but back in 21 when we were terrible i went to a few of the astros games and one of them i went to after the all star game i had a guy come up to me and say “i think he’s gonna be great, you guys got someone there” by an astros fan while i was wearing my adolis all star game jersey. i think about him all the time because i knew it, and he knew it. he just didn’t know what was gonna happen. i hope he’s okay lol
When visiting Wrigley, I feel the same way about Cubs fans. I guess it doesn’t hurt that I’m single-handedly doing my best to cover the entire Cubs payroll with my beer purchases in the bleachers.
Glad you had a great time!!
I live in Chicago but am originally from North Texas.
Sports franchises in North texas are relatively chill compared to Chicago fan bases. I have never met a cowboys fan (probably the most passionate fan base in north texas) that wanted to burn down Jerry World out of anger.
I have met chicagoans that felt that way over the Bears, Blackhawks, etc.
Not a diss or anything! I love Chicago. But I think the North Texas sports fans are the best.
Damn, thanks for taking the time to recognize! I’m glad you had a great time! I have to say I’m not surprised. Ranger fans are a pretty good bunch. Judge tipped his cap to the OF fans after he hit number 62 because we were so loudly cheering him.
My wife and I went to a Rangers game at Wrigley and felt the same way about our experience. Just a really good time with great fans!
It’s a game and it should be fun. Y’all come back now, ya hear?
My brother gave Justin Steele’s dad a ride back to his hotel. 😅 We love people here. Glad you had fun!!!
One thing about Texas is that we have southern hospitality. People don’t like our politics here or our government, but outside of any of that, we are mostly warm to everyone. It’s not AS pleasant in Houston/Southeast TX. FYI. You’ll still have fun though.
People don’t like our politics or government here in Chicago either. 😂 That’s awesome about the ride back. His son is an ace. We think we ran into Jordan Wick’s parents (Cubs starter) at Texas Live. My brother is like “nobody wears a Jordan Wicks jersey. I mean one person, maybe, but both of them wearing one, no” haha.
Hahahah it had to be that! Love that you and your brother get out to do fun things. I was with my mom and brother opening day. It’s such a family sport. Couldn’t have asked for a better day.

And college football level intoxicated.

I had quite a few Cubbies around me in Sec 132 and you guys were very courteous as well! 🙂

I know! I was a little disappointed 😆 but same same, I’m gonna hit up a replica one soon 😎
Eli Young’s a good show, cheers!

Love when standing room turns out to be the pit
Yes sir horns up to the universe

love y'all so much
Back at you!

but what if they're wearing an astronaut suit? I almost still want to get them a drink just because of how miserable they are wearing those things. :)
Anytime! See you in the World Series!
That would be the best World Series matchup ever! 🙌🏻
Nice nice
Damn. You had quite the trip! Glad you had such a positive experience in DFW! ❤
Glad you had a blast. Arlington specifically has so many places to visit or eat at, hope it all worked out

Sports gonna sport I guess. 6 weeks for a fractured wrist. Hopefully your guy is on his feet soon!
Astros fans are not welcome in the Ballpark though
The only fans I ever talk shit to are Astros fans

The fans at Wrigley were super nice to us too a few years back. Glad you had a pleasant visit!

x3 also, you gotta cute doggo my /person/
also man, yeah i just think regular season and post season are different. and let’s be honest, astros fans have something to have hubris in.

Best wishes for Steele's recovery. He was dealing out there.

See you in two years when they play again… or sooner if there’s a World Series matchup!
When I was a kid pretending to be a ball player in the backyard, I was with the Rangers and we were playing the Cubs in the World Series!
Thank You for your courage.
We were sitting right next to some Cubs fans on Opening day. Very friendly. You all are alright.
God bless Texas, thank you friend, glad y’all had a great time

Glad you guys enjoyed it! My wife and I went to Wrigley a few years back and had a great experience as well. Y'all come back now, ya hear!
Right back at you! I went to two fo the games, and the Cubs fans were all friendly. A great series for all.

Only time things become an issue is when you get bad Houston, Los Angeles dodgers or yankee fans. They tend to rowdy things up.
god these posts are disgusting
Thanks to everyone but this guy ⬆️😆
Who hurt you? Are you a closet Astros fan?
